Editorial Reviews
Andy Craighan of My Dying Bride
"Nothing could have prepared me for the sounds of Novembers Doom. I feel itto be a landmark in the genre, they have opened doors in which only the brave may tread and walked tall in the knowledge that they have created something new, something that has, at this moment in time, no equal. They have created a record of substance, each song it's own entity to be drawn into. Absolute doom it is not, however, but still manages to sound desolate when need be. Each song is executed with precision rarely seen at this level, my hat off to them for this achievement alone... The only problem with a CD such as this is picking a favorite, so many of the songs are deserving each with their own particular merits... A real step forward for the band, the clean vocals give them another dimension. I have nothing but praise for this band as they have recorded a CD of great quality which must surely secure their ! standing in the Black, dirge ridden world of doom. Hail!"

Product Description
Classic European doom metal sound from a contemporary American band! Elements of old Anathema, My Dying Bride and Paradise lost run amuck while never becoming derivative or typical. The lyrics and artwork round out a perfect package of dark beauty.

5 out of 5 stars Yet another unsung classic..........2005-05-22

Releases like this that have made me lose all faith in the American music industry. Now don't get me wrong, I mean that in the best way possible. Its just so disheartening to see bands with so much talent like Novembers Doom scorned for stuff like Linkin Park, Staind, Slipknot...etc.

I could lament the unjustice of the recording industry all day, but I'll get on with the review. Of Scultured Ivy And Stone Flowers may just be the quintessential Doom album of all time. It encompasses everything a Doom album should be. Sad, brooding, acerbic while still retaining a sense of elegance and a glimmer of hope. This is an album so filled with texture and emotion it takes you to another place. Every element comes together to form a darkly tranquil, profoundly human expierence.

This cd is really good, I like the way the riff are put together and the vocals as well utilizing growly and clean. If you like old my dying bride and old paradise lost, this cd is for you!!

When I was hired at Discovery Zone, I had hardly no interst in aband such as Nov's Doom. My employer, Joe, has a friend that is a band member. Joe had told me that he was not to crazy about the style music and that I could listen and see if I liked it. Turns out that Nov's Doom is one of the best band that I like next to Metallica.
