This solitary album by Britain's Unseen Terror documents the moment when underground metal became greatly impressed by the speed and political outrage of hardcore punk. Originally released in 1987 by the then-fledgling Earache label, Human Error is a classic experiment in melding technical Slayer-like guitar licks with a straight-ahead bashing inspired by American punk bands like Minor Threat. Hundreds of other groups copped the same concept at that time, but Unseen Terror were one of the few that did more than just plug-and-play the formula. The same could be said of neighboring Birmingham-area group Napalm Death, and in 1988 Unseen Terror's drummer Shane Embury joined Napalm for a long-running stint as bass player. Thus the crushing confusion of "Divisions" and other pieces will sound awfully familiar to fans. Everyone from Carcass to Morbid Angel picked up and intensified pieces of this action, carrying forward the charnel house worldview of "Death Sentence of the Innocent" and "Oblivion Descends." Though rife with blast beats and swervy guitar rhythms by Mitch Dickinson, Human Error may be less intense than similar outings by Righteous Pigs, Terrorizer, Cryptic Slaughter, and Repulsion, due to a crisp professional recording that tidies up the mania. Lovely, smudgy rehearsal tapes tacked on as six extra tracks here offer a dirtier perspective, and hint where the band was going before its premature dissolution. Amidst all the blistering riffs and collapsing cacophony, the band's adolescent awkwardness is revealed in no less than four songs based on the "Garfield" comic strip. Arne Babb lives! --Ian Christe

4 out of 5 stars THE CHILD DEVIANT.......2006-12-01

This is quite possibly as good as it's ever ganna get for this band. The lyrics are meaningful and intelligent, the music is well composed, and the album is well engineered and produced. Godhead have a typical neo-industrial/radio-gothic style that is hardley anything original....Nevertheless, it's the sincerity of this record that makes it special to fans. It's well worth checking out.

5 out of 5 stars Godhead Is Great Godhead Is Good.......2004-01-04

Well just to let you know I listen to a lil of everything so don't think I am classafied as a so called Goth or Metalhead. Anyway I saw Godhead at a show in Nashville TN and they were one of three bands playing the other 2 were Static-X and ENDO well ENDO sucked ass and i was starting to get pissed that i paid for the ticket then these guys get on stage and KICK-ASS!! As soon as they came on i ran to the booth up front and bought this album for $10. Well the band i was there to see was Static-X and ofcource they rocked the house as well but to hear godhead for the first time was a major shock and beleave me you need this album!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars A Great Debut........2003-10-10

If Marilyn Manson went lighter on the metal and heavier on the goth, he'd probably sound something like Godhead, which isn't surprising, considering Manson produced the album. After bouncing around record labels and releasing several low-budget productions, the band finally finds a home for its unique blend of industrial goth-rock with Manson's Posthuman label on Priority Records. Manson does for 2000 Years of Human Error what Trent Reznor did for Antichrist Superstar by taking a band that was already great and adding some extra spike to the punch. Manson's influence is undeniable (he even puts his patented sandpaper vocals to use in Break You Down), but its Godhead's flare for combining dramatic, gothy rock with catchy dance beats over atmospheric, industrial soundscapes that steals the show. From loud rockers The Reckoning, Inside You, and Break You Down to the mellow sounds of Tired Old Man and I Hate Today, Godhead demonstrates a knack for creating emotional yet vaguely creepy music that just happens to rock considerably.

5 out of 5 stars Godhead Rocks.......2003-08-05

Afther seeing the music video elenor rigby i want to get this cd. and it is a awsome cd. if your a fan or like groups like marilyn manson and nine inch nails you should check out this one.

4 out of 5 stars Great goth metal.......2003-03-27

When it comes to the subject of goth metal, I've only ever been fond of Type O Negative and Marilyn Manson (if you consider him goth metal that is), but Godhead (a band pretty much discovered by Manson) is a band that has much more to them than just being classified as goth metal. The music itself is simple enough, but the lyrics are nicely done and well written, and "2000 Years of Human Error" is quite an above average album. Opening track "The Reckoning" is the album's standout track, and other great songs include "Sinking", "Backstander", "I Hate Today", and the surprisingly good cover of The Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby" are the most memorable, and while the album does have a few parts where it seems it drags, "2000 Years of Human Error" remains a great album. If you like music like Type O, Manson, White Zombie, KMFDM, or Gravity Kills, then check out Godhead, you'll be pleasently surprised.

5 out of 5 stars One of the Best New Bands to hit the Extreme Music Scene.......2005-03-13

This album has everything you would expect from a death/black metal band and then some. The vocals go from low death metal growls to insane high pitch screams and the guitar work compare to bands like old man's child, dimmu borgir, myrskog(Superior Massacre)some unforgettable solos that remind me of the late chuck schulinder. There are no so-so tracks, they are all great and different which can only be said for a handful of albums and this one is at the top of that list. so if you're looking for some extreme atmospheric death/black metal cd with a quality recording this is it.

5 out of 5 stars THIS IS EXTREME METAL FOR THE FUTURE!!!.......2004-05-27

Whoa! What can I say about this album??? It seems that whatever I am going to say, it isn't going to describe how I really feel about this band and this album in particular. Words cannot describe this! I could use the words 'amazing' or 'brilliant' or 'masterpiece' but this album is beyond amazing, beyond brilliant and beyond a masterpiece. In fact it is all those words put together along with many other words like 'brutal', 'extreme', 'incredible', etc that describe how this album will make you feel!
I normally don't like to compare bands to other bands, but I will compare this band to some other greats just so I can prove to anyone that this is a band that will be HUGE! in the extreme metal scene in the near future. I would compare Crionics to later Behemoth, later Emperor, Zyklon and even Death, but the comparisons would not stop there as Crionics could be compared to just about any extreme metal band out there today. But Crionics are one of a kind! Believe me!
Waran's vocals are just awesome! he can growl like a death metaller and growl like a black metaller, he can also sing as well, suppose that is the only slight disappointment of this whole album, he only uses clean vocals on one track, if he used them on other tracks, I'd be listening to this cd every day for the rest of my life! But hey, who cares, this album is still just all the words I've already used to describe it at the top of this review. Waran's guitar work is also incredible as well, he will certainly be one of the great metal masterminds of the future!
Vac-V's synthetic backgrounds are absolutely amazing as well!, It gives this album so much atmosphere! I definetly put his work up there with Emperor, who I think were the most effective with the use of keyboards (always created great atmosphere and never over did it like some other bands who use keyboards).
To some up Marcotic's bass lines and Darkside's drumming...Awesome!, Amazing!, they sum up the band = four individuals who are going to be one of the biggest extreme metal bands in the future!
Through the years we have seen many countries produce great metal bands, Sweden, Norway, Finland being the most recent in my opinion. Well we have another country beginning a new list of great metal bands...Poland! So far there has been Behemoth, Decapitated, Vader, and now Crionics! Who knows what else is yet to come!
I predict that Crionics will be one of the biggest extreme metal bands in the coming years! It may be too early to predict this seeing this is only their first album, but once so you listen to this album, you will see what I mean. This is extreme metal for the future!
