About the Artist
Since the release of their first album Haunted in 1995 death metal icon and forefather Chris Barnes and company have created some of the most stand out songs among the death metal community today. Originally started as a side project by then Cannibal Corpse lead throat Chris Barnes along with Obituary guitarist Allen West, Death's Terry Butler and drummer Greg Gall quickly turned it into a full time band after Chris' departure from Cannibal Corpse that same year. Since then the band has been regarded as one of the world's most respected groups in extreme music. In 1998, guitarist Steve Swanson of the seminal death metal act Massacre joined the fold replacing West. His contribution would mark a significant turning point. And with the release of 1999's Maximum Violence, the world beyond metal took notice. Tours with Danzig and a stint on the 2000 Vans Warped Tour (an honor usually reserved for the Punk Rock elite) followed, making Maximum Violence their most successful release to date.

First off, I'm not one of those people that trashes Six Feet Under just because of Chris Barnes. I actually enjoy older SFU, and I prefer Cannibal Corpse with Barnes in it. However, Six Feet Under's 2nd volume of Graveyard Classics has got to be one of the most unnecessary piles of garbage I have ever heard. It's a cover album of AC/DC's most overrated album, "Back In Black", so you basically know that all of the songs basically run together. The only credit I give on this CD is that Chris Barnes is less annoying than Brian Johnson. Otherwise, this sucks. I mean, covering one or two songs is tolerable, but doing a whole cover album is just useless. Avoid and go for "Haunted", "Warpath" or "Maximum Violence" instead.
Horrible, but Hillarious.......2006-12-01
This has to be the worst CD I have ever heard... That said, I recommend people buy it because it really is hillarious. As an AC/DC fan that grew up listening to "Back in Black" for years and one who views it as one of the best albums of all time, I find this rendition to be about as bad as it gets... but in a funny way. The guitar and bass are excellent, the pitch, tone and rythym are spot-on... and then there is the singing...
I can't describe the shock I received after hearing the opening guitar riff of You Shook Me All Night Long that was killer, only to break out in uncontrollable laughter when the singer started singing the song in this gruff low distorted voice that sounded like utter tripe. The difference between the AC/DC original and Six Feet Under's is primarily measured by this alone, as the other components are commendable. That voice though... oh - my - god... just terrible. So in short if you are looking for good vocals look *anywhere* else, but if you are looking for a good laugh or gag gift for that AC/DC fan in your life, then this is a must buy!
..is...it a joke?.......2006-03-26
So i recently just got into Six Feet Under, i really like em to, and as one of the other reviewers said, i bout this in a *13* special edition set..so this cd just came free so i was like well okay i guess its worth it. I get in the car and listen to it..hey..its AcDc..hey..the whole cd is Back in Black..hmmm..sounds good..really good, the intruments were right on..and then...Chris Barnes starts growling..no matter what anyone says..it does NOT at all fit in with the music, to hear him try and sings these notes Angus does..and..ahhh dude wtf? AcDc was a rock n roll band..not a death metal slit your sisters throat band, It would be Alot Better if Chris Barnes actually was SINGING, but..he ruins it..the only reason i give it 3 stars is cuz the intruments are awesome and straight on.
PS, im not saying Chris Barnes sucks, not at all, "13" is a GREAT cd, so go check that out to actually hear what they really are
AC/DC is definitely proud of these guys........2006-03-14
I have seen a lot of AC/DC tribute albums, but until 2004, no artist has dedicated a whole album to them. do me a favor and do Motley Crue or Kiss. SFU is cool.
Hmm..........2006-02-04
Came with my purchase of "13" so it was buy one get one free... Which I'm glad... Cuz...
Some of it is damn cool, and others like "Back in Black" which has a vocal range that Barnes knows himself he cannot hit, attempts anyway, runs with it and puts it out there like it or not.
I mean, just look at the track "Rest in Pieces" on 13, same thing there.
In short: good tracks, bad tracks. SFU covering AC/DC.
