One Of The Greatest Live Albums Ever!!!.......2006-12-25

This was Accept recorded live on the 'Metal Heart' tour and it is exceptional. I love this band so there is very little they could do wrong.All the hits are here "Balls To The Wall" "Love Child" "Breaker" "London Leatherboys" and my personal Accept favorite "Screaming For A Love Bite"! The production is top notch,all the instruments are clear,Udo's voice is as cutting and perfect as ever,in fact I can't really think of a thing wrong with this. In my opinion,this is a far superior release to "The Last Chapter" although I know many would disagree with me..yes the later live album is longer and has more songs but it also contains filler material where as "Staying A Life" has one great song after another. If you love heavy music I highly recommend this,it feels like you are truly at an Accept concert and that's the way any live album should be!

The Upside - All their best songs,including many from "Metal Heart" and "Balls To The Wall",excellant production and it's available for a great price!

The Downside - I honestly can't think of any

The Bottom Line - Play this at maximum volume,turn down the lights,and you'll swear you are in the front row. This is heavy rock at it's finest.The Donutman says so!!!

I give it four stars only because it does not contain the songs "Head Over Heels", "Burning" and "Neon Nights" which appear on the european 2-disc set. But other then that, this is great.

One of the only live albums i listened to on a daily basis, this is how metal should sound live. Udo is simply awesome here, his razor shreiks and yells were probably the roughest vocals you could get in the age before extreme metal (i.e. Thrash, Death, ect). All of the songs are played with amazing energy, these guys were definatly NOT lazy, and did not rest on the laurals of the studio counterparts of these songs unlike what mopst bands did with live records (check out the Scorpions "World Wide Live" album to see what i mean about inferior live songs), in fact these guys actually made their live songs sound better!

The Wolf Hoffmann solo in the middle is breathtaking, along with Vitto Bratta, prehaps the most underrated guitarist alive, now he's a world famous photographer, go figure.

If you have never heard of this band, i would say start with this platter, it gives you the best songs from their four best albums played live. German rock at its finest.

A Bit Disapointed.......2005-04-05

When I bought Staying a Life, I was expecting a 2 CD set, since this CD was released in Europe and Japan as a 2 CD set.
All and all I'am very impressed with the U.S. version but I think it should be rereleased as a double live CD.
(not refering to The Final Chapter 2-CD)
I saw Accept live in Chicago at the Oak Theater in October of
1993 and they put on one heck of a live show.

This was the second Accept album i ever got, discovering them a little while before that when i got the BALLS TO THE WALL album. I must say, not being a fan of live albums that much, this is one of my all time favorite CD's. The energy displayed in this live set could put any other heavy metal group to shame.God,this is probably the most underrated metal group on earth, the music here is so F-ing good it makes me want to cry. The musicianship is so tight and virtuosic here that it makes bands like Judas Preist and Maiden seem poor by comparison. One of the few examples of great music that exists in this world, i would say to definatly get it if you can find it.

AWESOME! IT'S AN ACCEPT FEST!.......2004-11-13

This is basically an accept greatest hits album played in front of an audience. i am normally not a big fan of "greatest hits" or live albums that much but this is a big exeption. this is probably the single best accept album you can get. better then any of their albums like "ball to the wall" or "restless" because accept is a band that sounds a million times better live then in the studio, kind of like judas preist, their live versions of songs like "balls to the wall" "fast as a shark" "princess of the dawn" "breaker" ect blow the studio versions out of the water. this ia a live show with a band that is just exploding on stage, listen to the whole thing from "metal heart" to the encore "balls to the wall" and your hearing will be shot! udo dirksheider, what can i say about this man,wow, he has got the be(after rob halford)the greatest metal vocalist ever, just listen to the begining of track 14 to hear to highest pitch scream known to man, his voice almost reaches to dog whistle pitch! wolf hoffmann is amazine as well, one of metals greatest guitar players,ever! you can't go wrong w/ this.

Found it 15 Years Later!.......2005-04-28

I have been searching for Accepts Staying a Life 2CD set for the last 15 years!
Unlike the American version the German Import is much better and has an additional 4 tracks on it.
The additional songs that are missing from the American release are:
Head Over Heels
Burning
Neon Nights
Outro (Bound to Fail)
Also the American version is not a 2 CD set.
If you are a hardcore Accept fan, I recommend you buy this 2 CD set before you buy the American version.
May be expensive, but well worth the money.

I like this guy Perk - monster tracks (especially #'s 1,2 & 9)
I bought this album after seeing Perk at The Troubadour in L.A. -awesome show man - I recommend this album to anyone who's tired of all the lame music out there - get back to "real rock" with Perk

Before I begin my album review, let me tell you that I first heard Perk live at The Viper Room in Los Angeles. About three songs into the set I realized that I LOVED this guy! His songs were fun and catchy, and he's got a real drive to do his job...entertain people like me. So, I bought his album, and I'm happy to say that it's AMAZING! All of the songs have an underlying theme of GROOVE. I dare you to try and NOT dance, tap your foot, or nod your head to any of the songs. The guitar work alone is astounding because Perk can RIP IT like Metallica, or he can make it SMOOTH and CHILL like Steely Dan. Lyrically, Perk sings about the things that make us human, and his positivity toward life is refreshing at a time when so many bands are negative and self-loathing. If you like to have those albums that you put on to get your day started, cheer you up, or just rock out to, this album is for you! Perk yourself up with Perk! (I'm sure he's never heard that one before!)

This is a lyrical folk album with songs that have been "existing" from one month to over 30 years. The obvious theme is the train and the ability to transport not only the body but also the spirit. Other themes are the gone right and gone wrong love songs, taxes, friendships, honesty and insights. I am sure the listener will find a song that moves them in some way. Many songs have received air time with online folk radio stations at this writing. The cover photo is a photograph by Al Phelps from 1948. Album recorded at Binary Studios in Bellingham Washington.
