    5 out of 5 stars A metal symphony .......2007-04-17

One of the great metal albums of our time. From the drumming to the guitar alls that can be said is amazing.

    5 out of 5 stars Classic.......2007-04-15

War Ensemble , Dead Skin Mask, Seasons in the Abyss, Hallowed Point, Blood Red, basically every track is excellent. Slayer can play better then any band around, new or old. Sure Kerry and Jeff have to look at their guitars when they play, but who cares? No band can do it better then Slayer.

    5 out of 5 stars Slayer Rules! ! !.......2007-03-14

This is the best ever trash metal alum ever recorded! An album which amost everyone can enjoy! Don't say that you have the best metal audio collection if you don't have this album in your collection!.....Slayer rules!!!

    3 out of 5 stars Metal Magic.......2007-01-24

Technically these songs are near perfect for the genre. The guitar and drums are phenomenal. The album is a masterpiece. Having said that, the music just doesn't move me. Unlike Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Metallica etc, which made me "feel". Slayer may be a near perfect metal band, but it lacks the magic and soul to make it truly noteworthy. Every song is nearly the same. Very little creativity is mixed with the obvious technical expertise. It's diffucult to appreciate the scenery when the car is always going a hundred miles per hour.

    5 out of 5 stars Slayer's best album........2006-11-08

This is hands down the best slayer album next to Reign in blood but thats just my opinion. If your a fan of extreme thrash metal then you should get this, the songs range from everything to war, death, murder and destruction and the horrors of hell so the lyrics allways deal with a dark subject matter but that doesn't mean that this album is bad infact its a high quality album its just that not alot of people are gonna like this so its just a matter of taste. Drummer Dave Lambardo does a pretty good job within the fast and aggressive music and both guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman make some wild and blistering solos especially on songs like war ensemble and skeletons of society which are the best songs ever!. Tom Ayara is a good vocalist for this sort of thrash music and a very good bass player, all this makes for a whole and uncomprimising album not to mention the fantastic and underrated songs like Dead skin mask which was inspired by notorious serial killer Ed Gein and the song Hollowed point get this album now!.

5 out of 5 stars SLAYER at their absolute best!.......2004-06-03

The first Slayer album I ever heard was "South of Heaven," and I was hooked. I could not stop listening to it. I had never heard that much anger mixed with passion and talent before. My parents also hated the title... that's probably why I bought it in the first place.

I love "Reign In Blood." It is, by far, the best example of true thrash metal ever... 10 songs in 29 minutes... and still beats the hell out of ANYTHING coming out now.

That said... THIS is my favorite Slayer album ever. Why? It combines the speed of "Reign In Blood" with the mid-tempo ultra heavy grooves of "South of Heaven." It's also the most musical of all the Slayer albums, if that means anything.

From the opening speed riffing of "War Ensemble" to the churning of the title track, this is the total package for Slayer. Lombardo proves himself as the fastest drummer around. King and Hannaman never sounded better, and Tom's voice really shines... not quite sure if that's a compliment, though.

FYI... it was Metal Hammer's album of the year, 1990.

      BUY IT!!
