Very Good but With Shortcomings.......2006-02-04
Marduk's fourth album "Heaven Shall Burn... When We are Gathered" is considered by many fans to be among their very best records, and not for a bad reason. The production is good, nothing to rave about but it fits the atmosphere of the music. The musicianship I feel could have been better, Morgan's guitar work seems too simple and repetitive, otherwise the band sounds great. Song wise there are some killer tracks: "Beyond the Grace of God", "Infernal Eternal", "Glorification of the Black God" (Marduk's version of Mussorgsky's "Night On Bald Mountain") and "The Black Tormentor of Satan". On the other hand there are a few real stinkers: "Darkness it Shall Be" is completely repetitive and dull and "Dracul Ua Domini..." just chugs along with the same boring riff over and over again for a whole five minutes. On the whole though this is a very good record and recommended for anyone looking into the band.
MARDUK!!!!!!!! \m/ \m/ \m/.......2005-09-08
This is my favorite marduk album. It is second only to the god-like Panzer Division Marduk album. The best song is legion, it has some of the coolest riffs in it and is a very intense song, hell, the whole album is intense definately not for the faint of heart.
My favorite Marduk album.......2004-08-04
I have to say it, this is my favorite album by Marduk so of course I am going to be partial. The music, production, everything is top notch. This is also one of the harder to find albums (hell, anything on Osmose recordings is hard to find). I like this cd based solely on the fact that it's as fast as "Panzer" but has more melody and changes pace better. Enough said, just buy it and you won't be disappointed.

The Blackest BlackMetal Band.......2003-03-09
Heaven Shall Burn is Marduk's most evil album. This is my third Marduk cd I bought and it's my favorite one. There is no other vocalist like Legion. He has that evilness that no one can match. All of the songs are great and they are memorable. If you are a first time Blackmetal listener, get Heaven Shall Burn first.
Godlike black metal.......2002-10-06
Do you like extremely unholy, satanic, evil, fast as hell brutal black metal? If you do you will both love and worship Marduk. This is the only Marduk CD I own so far and I was very impressed at the band's speed and technicality. The group sounds very tight and it sounds like they know what they are doing. The production is also pretty good one thing that is usually poor in black metal. Marduk is an above average black metal band that knows what they are doing, making awesome black metal for satan. In my opinion Marduk blows Mayhem away. Marduk is the band that everyone should be worshipping as one of the best black metal bands, not Mayhem, so go out and support Marduk. STAY METAL.

Album Description
An unswerving commitment to blasphemy and extremity combined with a relentless touring schedule and a steady stream of recordings has helped establish Sweden's Marduk as one of the better-known bands on the Scandinavian black metal scene. They began as more of a standard death metal band with a black metal influence, but have come to be known for their style of extreme black metal, which tends to focus on themes of warfare and anti-Christian sentiment and is characterized by relentlessly fast drumming and blurred walls of guitar. This reissue of their 1996 album comes packaged in a Digipak and includes the 4 bonus tracks 'Beyond The Grace Of God', 'Glorification', 'Black Tormentor/Shadow Of Our King' & 'Infernal Eternal/Towards The Land Of The Damned'. Regain Records. 2006.

The debut of Legion........2007-07-08
Heaven Shall Burn is the debut of one of the best black metal vokillist I have ever heard! His vokill style is actually deep, but somehow it's still kind of high at the same time,it fits perfectly with the music. Just like the booklet says,it does really sound like the mouth of satan. I loved Legion b/c he doesn't just try so scream as loud and as high pitched as he can the whole time, that's why I never got into black metal until I heard Marduk and Immortal.
Onto the music, this is one of the best Marduk albums musically, all the elements seemed to come together perfectly on this album. Fredrick Anderson's debut on Opus Nocturne was already amazing, but you have to hear his drumming on this release! I remember when I first started listening to extreme metal,I thought the drums were fake...like I thought that it was impossible to play that fast, well, these guys are real, they pull it off live all the time! His drumming is a like a lot of my other favorite extreme metal drummers, deadly accurate and very precise, but not so boring where as to just sound like a drum machine.
B. War plays some of the best bass lines that I have ever heard in metal period, but espicially black metal.
Morgan's guitars just slice everything up.
To me, this where Marduk really started becoming the gods of music that they are today. I love the albums before this and I love Plague Angel and Rom 5:12,but these albums with Legion and B.War are just legendary. If you dark, blasphemous metal, give this cd a try.

Marduk.......2004-06-07
Panzer division is better than this CD. But this is definitely their second best, and the song 'Black Tormentor of Satan' is the best Marduk song. Tracks 4,5,6 are the best on the CD, the first ones are good, the 7th is slow the whole time, one of their grim ballad style songs they have once or twice on 'world funeral' and some of their earlier songs. But ultimately, if you want MARDUK, get Panzer Division Marduk, but if you like that and want to hear one of the best crafted BM songs in the genre, buy this CD for Black Tormentor of Satan, it should be to Marduk what 'Mother North' is to Satyricon. Hail Marduk
Marduk: Heaven shall burn.......2003-11-12
This is the most captivating Black Metal album I've heard in a while. They really hit the nail on the head with this release. In my opinion, the songwriting is top notch. The song structures are focused and Legion's vocals are in fine form. The production is pretty clean making the listening experience even better. The riffs were the main element of this album that made me want to keep listening to it. In my mind, the guitar lines are very memorable. I think that the performances of all the band members were pulled of in an orderly fashion. I like to refer to it as "controlled chaos". All the cuts are very strong, but my favorite songs have to be "Beyond the grace of God", "Infernal eternal", and "Black tormentor of Satan". Those songs contain some VERY intoxicating riffs. Definetly give this one a try. I think it's one of the finest Black Metal offerings Sweden has to offer.
UP THE IRONS AND THE INVERTED CRUCIFIXES!
The best Marduk !!.......2001-07-04
This is the album that put Sweden's sons of satan on the map of extreme black metal !!On this album they achieved much more of what was expected, hatful artwork, blasting raw black metal songs, uncompromising hate for religons... this is it !!I remember picking this up in 96" and it remains one of top ten bm albums in my collection! After that came the Nightwing, also great album but it lacked something, perhaps song writing that Heaven shal burn possessed. If you decide to buy an album by this band, make sure it's this one !!
Marduk's most nastiest album!.......2000-07-02
This is my all time fave Marduk album, because the song structures are just wicked! The warhammers are constantly blasting, the vocals range from raspiness, to hideous shrieks! This contains 8 tracks of pure christraping black metal! NO compromise! NO pretty melodic-fairy-riffing! Just hate and disgust for all this is pure and beautiul. Marduk have been around for quite sometime now, and I am amazed that they have stayed "Metal" Especially coming from Sweeten, as their scene is infested with humanitarian-wimps playing goth-techno! Pick up this hateful disk sooner or later!
Total hate.......1999-06-07
This record is one of the most aggressive and brutal albums I ever heard. Marduk unleash a storm of hate and blasphemy. Many Blastbeat parts and killer riffs make you suffer.... This is the best Marduk album ever, although I like Nightwing, too, but Heaven shall burn... is my personal favorite.
