Excellence!.......2007-04-22
These recordings range back to 1994, with a number of tracks being from Silva Screen's "Music from the Films of Clint Eatwood" compilation, with Derek Wadsworth conducting the City of Prague Philharmonic.
Those tracks are: "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", "A Fistful of DOllars", "For a Few Dollars More", and "Two Mules for Sister Sara". "In The Line Of Fire' also appeared on that CD, performed electronically by Mark Ayres.
The next bunch of tracks is from Silva Screen's 1996 compilation, "Cinema Paradise: The Classic Film Music of Ennio Morricone", which included the majority of tracks here such as the extensive The Mission Suite, The Untouchables, Casulaties of War, Once Upon a Time In America, 1900, Chi Mai, Marco Polo, Once Upon a Time In The West (two tracks), Cinema Paradise, and The Good the Bad and the Ugly - Ecstacy of Gold, mostly being conducted by Paul Bateman, with Nic Raine doing some of the conducting duties as well.
Hamlet is from Silva's 1997 "Cinema's Classic Romances" compilation, while "The Thing" is from Silva's 2001 "Essential John Carpenter".
A Fistful of Dynamite - Duck You Sucker is from 2002's Way Out West: Essential Western Film Music Collection Volume Two.
The remaing tracks were newly recorded in 2004 for this release:
Days of Heaven, Exorcist II, Guns for San Sebastian, Moses the Lawgiver, My Name is Nobody, The Five Man Army, The Red Tent, The Men From Shiloh and The Sicilian Clan.
Highly recommended.
"his domain of film scoring is legendary ~ Ennio Morricone".......2004-10-07
Silva America once again has outdone themselves with "Once Upon A Time:The Essential Ennio Morricone Film Music Collection", a double disc collection worth their weight in GOLD! ~ Morricone creates visual moods for each film he scores...action, adventure, mystery, romance, sentimental and suspense...the list could go on.
Ennio Morricone was born in Rome on October 11, 1928...attended the Santa Cecilia Conservatory...worked in various jazz bands, later a staff arranger and composer...an orchestrator in the '50s...scored films in the early '60s, then the WESTERNS and his name became a household word in the film industry ~ a new kind of western was on the horizon and Morricone was commissioned to score "A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS" [1964] for Sergio Leone featuring Clint Eastwood, spaghetti westerns were born ~ next "FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE" [1965] ~ and a bigger budget film "THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY" [1966], again featuring Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and a third Eli Wallach whose performance was magical to watch on the big screen ~ violence and revenge gives Morricone an opportunity to feature electric guitars, flutes and jew's harp blending with a non lyrical chorus mixed with brass, strings, percussion with full orchestration that simply took your breath away...example is "ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST" [1968], featuring Henry Fonda, Claudia Cardinale, Jason Robards and our hero Charles Bronson the mysterious harmonica player, director Sergio Leone's tribute to the American Western, pulled out all the stops ~ the Western was just a small part of Maestro Morricone's career, in the next paragraph take a gander of just what our icon of film music accomplished.
Our composer didn't stop there as "ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA" [1984], featuring Robert De Niro, James Woods and Elizabeth McGovern, another Sergio Leone film..."THE MISSION" [1986], featuring Robert De Niro, Jeremy Irons and Aldan Quinn, is probably one of Morricone's crowning scores receiving an Academy Award nomination, very haunting and classical genre in substance..."THE UNTOUCHABLES" [1987], featuring Kevin Costner, Sean Connery and Robert De Niro during the Al Capone '30s crime organization, Morricone conjures a powerful and dynamic arrangement of his unmistakable theme..."CINEMA PARADISO" [1988], featuring Phillippe Noiret, Antonella Attili and Pupella Maggio from director Giuseppe Tomatore as he recalls his early childhood, the score immediately captures your heart, so tender and compelling as Morricone can only deliver.
City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra featuring conductors Kenneth Alwyn, Paul Bateman, James Fitzpatrick, Nic Raine, Derek Wadsworth ~ Crouch End Festival Chorus featuring Choir Master David Temple ~ vocals performed by Charlotte Kinder, Marie Kopecka and Jill Washington ~ guitar, percussion and keyboards performed by Gareth Williams ~ all in all did a magnicent job in bringing the music of a composer who wrote for over 250 films, receiving recognition from the industry and fans which was long over-due ~ his work is in constant demand, scoring as many as over a half dozen films as year.
This collection contains an overlay of each cue in Morricone's distinctive style of legendary scoring ~ the man who made this possible, a tremendous asset to every project he undertakes is James Fitzpatrick [producer of the album] ~ symphonic suites with full orchestra fullfilling the "film-score-buffs" cravings for more of the same, just the way we like 'em!

A fitting end to a trilogy.......2006-01-03
This record really is a masterpiece. It chops and changes from political(Pipe Stories) to personal(Lethal temptress), from lament (goldenboy) to celebration (our love is like a wire), from country jamming (collapsing star) to electronic-ish (mysterious in black) paranoia. It reeks of the best bits of Dylan (collapsing star, rats alley), Waits (Settle down Zelda), Cohen (Love is like a wire), Velvets (Morbid Craving), The Stones (Name Names) and thats just the male vocals courtesy of Timothy Bracy and Paul Deppler.
Then you bring the dulcet tones of Shannon MacArdle into the mix, and you get an honest unflinching sincere delivery of heartfelt and topical lyrics to the unmistakeable sound of a band at the top of their game.
McArdle and Bracy are the definitive sound of this year. Their honesty and sincerity, dipped into a wellspring of humour, humility and irony betray their personality as the most likeable couple on record today.
For those of you who already have 'Lost in Revelry' and 'fortune' this is a fitting end to the trilogy that began in 2002.Pete Hoffman has taken a hiatus on this record but that doesn't compromise the quality of songwriting. If you want a record thats (a) Thought provoking and (b) rock 'n roll then you can't go wrong with this one.
Click the 'add to cart' button now. You won't regret it...
Our Love is Like a Wire.......2005-11-30
There are a million bands these days. It used to be so simple. I had my circle of friends and we all liked mostly the same music and every now and then one of us would show up with a tape by some band we've never heard of and we'd have a new favorite band until the next new tape showed up.
Things aren't so simple anymore.
Every time I turn around or get on the internet there's some new band that everyone loves and the reviews are so good that I wonder what I'm missing. Usually, after having purchased said album, it turns out that I wasn't missing anything. Just another hyped up band with no substance.
The Mendoza Line does not fall into this category.
The Mendoza Line is one of those bands that other bands will be namechecking in interviews ten or fifteen years from now. Much like The Mendoza Line themselves have been known to namecheck The Replacements or American Music Club. And this new album is the latest in an increasingly long line of masterpieces they've recorded over the last decade.
This time around the songwriting has been split between just Shannon McArdle and Timothy Bracy with one achingly beautiful contribution from Paul Deppler. From the beginning of my infatuation with The Mendoza Line, it was Timothy's songs that I obsessed over more than the others, each one at one time or another I have proclaimed the best song in the world. But over the last several albums, Shannon's songs have increasingly been placed on that same pedestal. The first time I heard "Mysterious in Black" it stopped me dead in my tracks and I had to sit down on the curb in the middle of a late night stroll, unable to move until it was over.
But the real surprise of this album comes at the very end with Paul's song "Our Love is Like a Wire." I am not exaggerating at all when I say that this song is one of the fifty best songs of the last century. And yes, I have taken into account all of "Blood on the Tracks", "Rust Never Sleeps", "New Songs for the Old Ceremony", and Timothy Bracy's back catalog. I do not say this lightly. It made me cry. Not tears of sadness, just those rare tears when you hear something so beautiful it makes you hurt.
Do yourself a favor and worship this band now instead of later. It will happen one day anyway, so go ahead and buy this album and their others so you can say you were there when it happened.

Fatal - In The Line Of Fire .......2006-03-19
Fatal's debut album was "In The Line Of Fire" (1998). New Jersey's Bruce Washington got into the Rap game after his friend Kadafi introduced him to 2Pac, and Pac included him in the group Outlaw Immortalz. Fatal made his first appearances as a rapper on Pac's "All Eyez on Me" in 1996. After Pac and Kadafi's deaths Fatal parted way with the other Outlawz upset with how they had signed to Death Row (Going against Pac's Advice)among other reasons. In 1998 he released this eleven track debut album. After a short intro Fatal reps thuglife and being an Outlaw on "M.O.B.". Fatal then delivers the albums first standout with the smooth single "Everyday" feat. singer Antoinette Roberson. Fatal flows confidently on "I Know The Rules" a track where Fatal reps thuglife while tearing into fake thugs and fronting rappers. Mac Mall drops in for a collabration cut called "Outlaws". Another standout has Fatal talking about what its like to live everyday knowing it could it be the last on "What's Your Life Worth". Fatal continues to rhyme whats it like around his way on "Getto Star". My favourite track is the laidback closer "The World Is Changing". Fatals one of those MC's who really has lived his lyrics, for better or worse, following this album he would spend two years in jail, and released a self titled followup in 2002. "In The Line Of Fire" is a solid album worth checking out, a keeper for Outlawz fans.
Great solo Debut - 4.5 stars.......2004-11-15
Despite not being on a huge label and featuring none of his Outlawz buddies, Hussein Fatal delivers a solid and impressive debut. Not as "hard" as I thought it was going to be, it still is very good and impressive. Feature Mac Mall, Mercilless X, ONS, Antoinette Roberson (although most go unlisted) and perhaps a few more. Only has 11 songs with no real weak point, one can easily listen through from start to finish with no need to skip any songs. There is 1 classic, 2 near classics, and 2 are just ok songs. The production is a little different then what I thought it would be, but he adapts well to make it work. Rob Reef Tewlow, Delite, and Steve Pitts all do 2 songs, and Courtney Burgess, Quim, Femi, Baby Paul, D'Anthony Johnson each do 1. A must have for Outlaw fans.

#3 - 8

HOT!!!.......2004-08-14
This album is hot! The lyrics on this album are definatly razor sharp and u wont be disappointed with the lyrical part. The only bad thing i see in this cd is some of the songs i just didnt like(only like 2).But i got to say i liked a major majority of the cd even though its only 11 songs long. The quality of the tracks are good and make up for the shortness of the cd.If u are a Outlawz fan u better scoop this cd as soon as possible and then u will realize how talented Fatal really is. Hes got to be the best out of all the Outlawz no doubt even though some come close to Fatals skill they cant compare.Fatal hussein has what is takes to go big he just aint got the hype thats all these other weak radio rappers got and if he had some bomb beats he would undoubtly be seen as one of the best rappers today.Songs like M.O.B., Friday,Times wastin, and Whats ya life worth definatly show Fatal's lyrical skill and make this album worth buying.Don't buy this cd if u are looking for tupac or any of the other outlawz cuz it aint got much of them on it, matter of fact none of tupac. If ur lookin for a hot rappers whos been around for a while and a dam good cd,then purchase this album
Dissapointing debut from Outlawz member.......2004-01-17
I was always looking in stores trying to get this one so when I saw that u could buy a used copy I litterally jumped on it...
But when I put in the cdplayer I was very dissapointed , First of all on some songs it sounds like a 3-year old made the beats they sound really cheap.
And on almost every track FATAL sounds uninspired...
This was even more dissapointing than SNOOP DOGG's "Da Game Is To Be Sold"...
Of All Outlaw related albums I have heard this is the worst... Go take another listen at Tupac's albums instead of buying this, or perhaps buy OUTLAWZ - NOVAKANE instead
"In The Line Of Fire" Review.......2003-11-10
As the stand-out member of Tupac Shakur's "Outlawz", Hussein Fatal seemed destined for big things but following his mentor's death and his subsequent departure from the group, Fatal found himself in career limbo. On his solo debut off of Relativey, Fatal was hoping to establish himself as a major contendor in the rap game and do it all by his lonely. Unfortunately, he fell a few steps short. While die-hard Outlaw fans enjoyed it, this album did not quite live up to many people's expectations and the dismal sales figures didn't help matters either. While cuts such as "Friday", "Everyday", and "Take Your Time" made for decent music, they just didn't provide incentive enough to keep this one in the CD player on a regular basis. The same Fatal who blazed the mic on tracks like "Made N--gaz" and "When We Ride" just doesn't seem to make the same impression without his infamous cohorts behind him. This isn't to say that Fatal doesn't have what it takes as a solo act but let's just say, he didn't quite find his niche on this one. If you love the Outlawz, you're gonna want to add it to your collection but anyone else may want to hold off on dropping some dollars on this one.

The film that took the 1989 Special Jury Prize at Cannes, Cinema Paradiso features a promising collaboration between il Maestro Ennio Morricone and director Giuseppe Tornatore. Essentially a bittersweet love letter to the enchantment of the cinema-going experience, "Paradiso" offers the melodic and romantic side of Morricone at his peak. The story line gratifyingly calls for Morricone to musically encapsulate a broad range of historic film music, from the orchestral grandeur of Golden Age Hollywood to the Neopolitan jazz of Rota and Fellini, which he does with typically brilliant panache. Telling fact: the main theme is so memorable it was recently co-opted for a car commercial! --Jerry McCulley
Customer Reviews:
music great but performance weak.......2000-07-01
I love the music of E.Morricone, and bought this disk since it had so many titles that I wanted. But although the songs are great, I found the performances - by the city of prague philharmonic - to be quite weak. There is very little emotion conveyed - and the emotion is what makes E.M.'s music so compelling. Even worse, the performance differs from what you remember in the movies - e.g. the good bad and ugly track had no chorus (no grunts); the mission soundtrack sounds like a symphonic rendition without the catholic power. Stick to the original soundtracks.
Excellent Versions of Classic Themes.......2000-06-28
This CD features new orchestral arrangements of Morricone's most famous themes. It's a very interesting album and even if one prefers to quirky original recordings of his western scores (like I do) it's still well worth a listen. (The only reason I'm giving this Four Stars is because some of the personality of the themes hasn't quite translated to some of the versions on this collection.)
The versions of "Two Mules for Sister Sara" and "For a Few Dollars More" are particularly well presented. However, if you're looking for some of Morricone's original recordings, I recommend you pick up "A Fistful of Morricone."
Il magnificio.......2000-05-25
I haven't heard this album, but I know all the tracks very well. I grew up with Ennio Morricone and as such I know this would be an essential for anyone who is not fully aware of the genius this man has brought to movie scores for four decades now. Check "Estasia del'oro" on this CD to find out what I mean!
This is not original music of Ennio Morricone.......1998-12-19
This cd represent a compilation of various tracks by Ennio Morricone and contains very popular themes. I give only 2 stars, because the music is poor compared to the original version composed by Ennio Morricone.
great sounding music from various films.......1998-08-22
This cd is a great compilation of various tracks by film composer Ennio Morricone. While the music is wonderful, only one of the tracks is from the specific film of Cinema Paradiso (despite the name of this CD). If you are mainly interested in that film, there's a complete soundtrack to it also available at amazon.

American AOR is back!.......2006-10-10
America may be the birthplace of arena rock, but it's been a long time since AOR ruled the US radio waves. I had long since given up hope for a new US band to continue the tradition established by Journey and Boston, which is why North Carolina's Line of Fire was such a nice surprise.
Line of Fire is without a doubt an old school AOR band, with a sound that is very much influenced by classic arena rockers Journey, Boston, Foreigner, and Survivor. I'm also reminded of more modern acts like Harem Scarem and Lost Weekend at times, but the emphasis is firmly on the classic sound. The song Paradise, for example, is the kind of track you'd expect to hear as a big summer radio hit in 1985.
Line of Fire's 2005 debut is an impressive release. The songs are very melodic and very well written. The instrumentals are tight and the vocals are fairly solid as well. You get the impression that the singer pushes himself a bit too far at times (like album opener Faith in Fire), but when he relaxes to his normal range on songs like Paradise and Remind Me, he is right on the money.
This one is bound to please just about any AOR/melodic rock fan. Whether you're endlessly spinning your old Boston and Journey albums, or relentlessly checking out all the new releases by Frontiers and MTM, chances are you'll soon have Faith in (Line of) Fire!
What's not to like?.......2006-03-15
I first found Line Of Fire on Myspace. I was just amazed by the first song i ever heard from them which was cut #6 from the Album, "Morning Light". It was like Triumph and Journey rolled into one and I LOVED it!!. I finally ordered this Album and cannot be more pleased!! This is by far the best money I have spent on an Album this year! It is amazing to me that these guys do not have a major Label deal. Oh wait...their style is very Old School. If you loved the music that dominated 80's Rock you will absolutely LOVE this Album!! It is very melodic at its base. There are the requisite Guitar riffs to keep any 80's Rock fan happy, and there is also some very interesting Drum work to be found. Cut #7 "Can't you see" is one of the most unique Power Ballads you will hear. I urge you to buy this Album!!! You will not be disappointed in the least if you are a fan of Journey, Dokken, Triumph, and Boston.
2005 Hard Rock's Best.......2005-12-14
This is one of the best hard rock cd's of 2005. If you take a hard rock version of Journey & Boston & mix them together you get Line of Fire. Members are Shawn Pelata (Vocals), Nikki Dimage (Guitars, Keyboards, Bass & Backing Vocals), Ed Darst (Guitars), Cliff Paul (Bass) and Justin Collins (Drums). The songs are well written & the musicianship is unbelievable. Pick it up, you will not be dissappointed.
They draw from a sound that has long been forgotten in the states.......2005-12-07
The Good
"Live & Let Go" is paced with steady rhythms and power chords that give way to strong verse sections. The group is dead-on with their harmonies on the chorus. Guitarist Ed Darst fires off a few Neal Schon-esque solo sections here. "Fade" is a middle-of-the-road melodic rock. Rather than focusing on instrumentation, vocalist Shawn Pelata leads the pack with his strong melodies. The rest of the group vocals blend perfectly with Shawn's during the refrain.
"Remind Me" is a hard rock tale of heartbreak that's accented by chunky muted riffs and enduring emotion. I like the mix of electric and acoustic guitars. Speaking of reminding me; "Morning Light" sure reminds me of a lost Journey track circa 1984. It has lots of energy and endearment, with a catch vocal and rhythm pattern. The meaty guitar riffs with lots of distortion are busted out for "Falling Down (Hear My Prayer)". This is one of the most solid tracks on the album.
The Bad
Although "Faith in Fire" is one of those steady building energetic songs that you want to start an album off with, Pelata is just over-singing it.
The Verdict
The first thing you're going to think when you listen to this one is that they sound a lot like Journey. Not that there's anything wrong with that. The more you listen to Line of Fire you realize that they really do have a sound of their own (with a Journey/Boston influence). I have to give credit to an American band that's out there doing something no one else over hear is trying. That's what makes Line of Fire unique. They may draw from a sound that has long been forgotten in the states, but they make it sound modern and interesting again. If someone throws these guys a lot of money to produce their next album, you better watch out!

The Best Blues after BB,.......2005-08-23
I just learned of Robin after seeing his name on some CD's he produced for Bryan Ferry, Whom I love! Robin has been my brothers
favorite for years but I never listen to his music, for many years
I could of enjoyed this fantastic artist's music, I have a lot of
catching up to do!!!!
What if you had never heard of Robin Trower ?.......2005-07-31
This is a fine release.
It's not a sellout.
It's not a copout.
It IS a stellar guitarist of the 1st order on his musical quest.
This has excellent songs, in a modern format.
Sure, the guitarwork is present.
Davey Pattison is the best vocalist for Trower, this side of James Dewar (now deceased).
Glen Letsch is on bass. So the bass is brighter, then the older material.
This release has some great songs : Climb Above the Rooftops, Turn the Volume Up, which rock in the best, Trower style.
The beautiful , slow, If You Really Want To Find The Love, gives us the very soulful side of Trower's music.
Jimi Hendrix had more commonality, then sounds with Robin.
Hendrix felt that many fans stopped evolving past Foxey Lady.
Robin Trower has fans who never crossed - The Bridge Of Sighs.
AWESOME TROWER CD.......2004-09-20
I am a TROWER nut and take offence at the negative reviews. If all his CD's have to sound alike to please some of his older fans, so be it but don't knock this CD. Yes it is different, yes it has certain 80's flavours about it and yes it misses JAMES DEWAR, but like all his other output, it is still quality rocking blues. TROWER is such a talented guitarist that even his mediocre output ( PASSION ) is still of the highest standards and contains a number of outstanding tracks. This one differs from his 70's material in that it is more POP / ROCK than BLUES / ROCK, but most of these tracks are as good as it gets in this genre and TROWER as always plays some brilliant solos. The vocalist is very good, even if he isn't up to the DEWAR standard ( WHO IS??????) and the tunes are mostly very catchy and energetic. If you are a TROWER fan, accept the different offerings and marvel at the breadth of his style and talent.
Victim of the 80's.......2004-04-04
After recently purchasing this album, not having ever heard of it, I was hoping to hear something familiar from days past from the guitarist that has influenced my playing more than any other artist, but to my surprise this did not resemble anything that I could identify with. Those of us old enough to remember the 80'S realize they were the worst of times for music and I realized that maybe RT was just having to go with the flow on this one! I will say that on a couple of tracks there are some great guitar solos that I found myself skipping to and for those who enjoyed the 80'S style of music would probably like this album.
Trower Adrift.......2004-03-17
I bought this CD several weeks ago thinking it was more new music by Robin Trower after seeing it listed on this site as having been issued in January 2004. Oops, that's a reissue folks. I have been a Trower fan since he played with Procol Harum and had never heard of this CD. And after listening to it a half dozen times, I understand the reasons for its obscurity.
This is not the Robin Trower I've known and loved for years. This is a Robin Trower trapped in the worst musical cliches of the 80s. Now some folks are going to think this is a fabulous CD and those folks are the same ones who kept bands like Foreigner and Styx in business during that musically benighted decade. If those bands are to your taste, you are going to love this.
In the Line of Fire is archetypical 80s music, with its tell-tale corporate rock sound and the lame chorus of backing vocals so typical of that time. Its pretensions are to power rock, but the reality of the music is purely formulaic. Fans weaned on Trower's early material are probably not going to like this at all.
The final two cuts save the CD from being a complete waste of money and vinyl. Let's Turn This Fight Into a Brawl is a great, hard-driving rocker and Climb Above The Rooftops is a searing blues number that explodes with savage licks on Trower's guitar.
I am of course disappointed by the overall quality of the music for it shows Trower to be seriously adrift. Old-time Trower fans might want to skip this and pick up the redeeming new Living Out Of Time instead.

Little known album, yet one of the greatest of the 80's.......2007-02-08
I was shopping at a record store in the 80's and saw this album in the dollar bin. It looked kinda cool, and even though I never heard of The Headpins, I bought it. Probably the best dollar I ever spent. This has to be one of the greatest 80's rock albums made. Tight musically, well arranged, and Darby Mills' sexy vocals make this one a must have. I wore out the album in the 80's, wore out a tape, and am trying to wear out my CD right now. Do yourself a favor and listen to the best thing to come out of Canada ... you won't regret it.
TOTALLY AWESOME ROCK AND ROLL.......2006-02-07
I must say that is one of the best rock and roll albums I have ever heard and it can always be counted on to get your friends who have never heard of em ask..who is this band, they are awesome...you smile and tell em. This is from the 80s as most of you checking it out know and Darby is one super special vocalist...and the other thing I would love to point out is that when you read the review and there are words such as WERE and WAS you people need to get up in the morning and do some reading...cause I am here to tell you that all the living members of the band are still together and going VERY STRONG and doing shows almost monthly and Darby still sounds as strong and great as she ever did...how many bands can you say that 3 out 4 original members are still in the band...and yes Darby is still pretty great lookin' lady too....The band has added Tony D on guitar and Alfie on keyboard too now..if you want hear a great show check em out..they are mainly do Canada but in 01, 02 and 04 they have done tours in the north western and middle USA in the north parts..and I have seen alot of them. Also if anyone has a 8 track that they would not mind parting with that is in good shape please email me at....roughland (AT) yahoo.com.... and let me know...I am looking for one..the whole band is great friends of mine so you can email about that too...Just pick up this and "Turn it Loud" and pray that MCA will rerelease "Head Over Heels" real soon too....and and if your into Darby she also a solo album that sounds along the lines of HEART but in my view a few points better...
Way cool.......2005-01-15
I saw the Headpins in the early 80's, and thought they ROCKED. To this day 'Dont stand in the line of fire' sets at the ready in my tape deck. I really like this album, and not to date myself but I have it on 8 track, and I have a player to play it on!!!!
A truly great band, overlooked by a blind industry.......2004-12-24
If you can listen to Darby Mills voice and not conclude that she had one of the most powerful and distinguishable voices in rock, then you need help. This band had it all goin' on, from the virtuous guitar tracks of the late Brian "too loud" Mcleod, to the sexy and driving melodies and powerhouse vocals. I was fortunate enough to see this band a few times live and they cooked. I recommend you buy this. You will love it!
Undiscovered 80's jewel.......2003-12-23
This album was a prime example of what the early 80's had to offer in regards to the rock genre'...Headpins was one of those bands who only enjoyed minimal success despite their obvious talent....They were fronted by a beautiful, screechy young woman named Darby Mills who could've easily dethrowned Pat Benatar as rock's first lady...Their music ranged widely from even paced, yet melodic tracks like "Just one more time" to all out smokers like "Mine all mine"....How this band never arrived at anything beyond a cult following eludes me...Everything was in place, from vocals to guitar work this band seemed poised to take the music industry by storm...By today's standards, outside of Metallica or Dream Theater there's very few bands who could've hung with them player per player
