Soothing.......2006-11-17

The CD has mystical type music, Christopher Love narrates and has a wonderfully soothing voice. He works on getting you relaxed, walks you through white light visualizations, then when you are deeply relaxed talks about healthy weight and body. I listened to it before bed. It made me feel very good and I slept very deeply and well. I woke up feeling both energetic and very peaceful inside. I like its spiritual message of oneness, which the other self hypnosis tapes and CDs I researched did not include. I plan to purchase more of his CDs on self hypnosis since this one is exactly what I was looking for.

Honestly, pretty amazing.......2007-01-20

If you could imagine a merger between Linkin Park, Three Doors Down and Yellowcard, you'd have Nural. Quality alternative rock with heavy and melodic leanings. The word "classic" has been dropped more than once with respect to Weight Of The World, so if you don't already own it, do yourself a favor and buy. Best CD I've heard in a long while!

I have over 400 albums, and I can honestly say that 'The Weight of the World' is the best one I own right now. Nural has their own unique sound--catchy beats and amazing vocals--their lead singer has a great voice and can actually sing. This album is also without a weak track, it is enjoyable all the way through. I have seen these guys twice in concert and they sound great live. It is only a matter of time before Nural will open on a major tour for somebody like Fall Out Boy or Yellowcard. They will also be leaving Hopeless Records soon and signing with a major record label, most likely Universal or Columbia. They are really cool guys to talk to as well, and I guarantee you'll get the chance to do so if you see them live, so go and check them out--I'm sure you'll like them!

Nothing incredible........2005-09-13

This cd reminds me of the cds you might buy when you were a preteen or something, one that was pretty much instantly catchy, and you liked it the more you listened to it until your intrest peaked, and then it just got annoying. I think Nural could very well get a major label deal after this one, because obviously some people think that nUrAl RoX mAn! The song structures are very basic and can't really hold interest after a while. Sure, for a few weeks it was slightly amusing to listen to this cd. But believe me, after a month you'll just forget about it until you see some 12 year old wearing a nural shirt and think how stupid you were to buy this cd. It seems like they were worring too much about how the media would accept them so they had to put out something that could be used in movie soundtracks, music videos, etc. Oh, and the Curse, yeah it may be one of the better songs, but please nural! the video just looks like an excuse for the singer to get groped by some girl. yeah the singer also needs to change up the vocals a bit. and that doesnt mean american idol-style vocals like on the last track. man i almost thought he would scream in 'not guilty'. yeah they need to change that up a bit. the songs are weak, forgetable, and all of you who rated it five stars will probly change your mind in a couple weeks. another way in which Hopeless records let me down. well overall, save the 15 bucks you would use to buy this cd and like donate it to hurricane katrina or something. or buy a good cd. peace

Excellent band.......2005-09-12

I had the privelage of playing in a band that opened for this band last fall. They were amazing live, and this album, their first studio release, certainly does them justice. Nural has their own sound ... powerful, yet melodic and thought provoking. Each of the members are excellent musicians and great song-writers, mixing intelligent lyrics with creative rhythms and time-signatures ("The Curse"). Favorites on this album include "Tension," "Chasing You," "The Curse," "Sign of Life," and "Years to Come." This is undoubtedly one of the best albums of the year by one of the best up-and-coming bands. BUY IT!!!!!!!

Buy it for jaybird.......2007-05-09

Jaybird has got to be a hardcore classic. Some dont like it prefering the earlier stuff but this was the first one I heard back in the day and got to say it hooked me. Jaybird, The whip and Token Entry were the tracks that stood out for me, they just had something differnet from the standard hardcore at the time.

Cant say I ever heard weight of the world and got to say pretty glad I didnt. Rock cheese that makes DYS fire and ice, or latter Gang Green stuff sound good. Its just painful to listen to the guys who were recording this must have had blood coming from their ears.

In 1950, the Columbia University Music Department requisitioned a tape recorder to use in teaching and for recording concerts. These Canadian boys are amazing! This is one of the best heavy melodic rock releases that I have heard in years! Every song is excellent! There is even a great guitar instrumental tossed into the mix! Since Harem Scarem and Rubber are the same band (depending on what country you live in) purchase either release and you won't be disappointed!

Harem Scarem/Rubber cover all styles of their career in this great 2002 release. The title track recalls the classic "Mood Swings" era with the grand production and BIG chorus. "Killing me" & "If you" are essential RUBBER that could be huge singles in the current market if only the masses could hear them. Excellent Band!!! Excellent CD!!!

Great comeback of sorts for this amazing thrash metal outfit. This album is solid and great addition to the Metal Church collection.

A very good release.......2005-06-19

This Metal Church lineup has very little resemblance to the original lineup but is still a very good album with lots of cool riffs. The singing takes a little getting used too, afterall its not David Wayne and to most people he is the voice of Metal Church. Lots of political statements and some all around good thrash make this CD worth buying if you are a Metal Church fan or just want to hear some good thrash thats not overly fast or brutal.

Having just picked this up I was wondering what I'd get. With so many personnel changes over the years it's always a crapshoot with Metal Church. Never fear gentle listener for this album rocks. The guitar of Vanderhoof is incredible and has been the consistenly great factor of all Metal Church releases. If you like no frills metal played like it matters this is one to hunt down. A better album vocally than Masterpeace it was a pleasant surprise. Go to church Y'all.

I like Metal Church a lot. Thru the years they have put out great music, but honestly nothing like this. this Cd goes shoulder to shoulder with the best albums from Savatage, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and many other pure heavy metal bands. This is one ofe the great heavy metal albums of all times. Got to listen to this one, if you like honest heavy metal you'll love this one. fantastic. Great singing, better riffs and solos, good keyboards in the background. the best!

I'VE BEEN A HUGE M.C. FAN FOR NEARLY 20 YEARS! I JUST GOT THE NEW CD THIS PAST WEEKEND! IT WAS A REFRESHING SUPRISE! I THINK THE STYLE OF THE WHOLE PIECE IS LIKE A SAVATAGE OR QUEENSRYCHE. KEEP IN MIND, M.C. HAS NEVER DONE A PIECE LIKE THIS, SO IT'S ALMOST LIKE A ROOKIE EFFORT FOR THEM AND THEY PULLED IT OFF. RONNIE BRINGS A MELODIC VOICE TO THE HEAVY GUITARS AND DRUMS. WELL WORTH CHECKING OUT AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE FROM THIS LINE-UP IN THE NEXT COUPLE YEARS. IT'S A GREAT DIRECTION THE BAND HAS TAKEN AND THEY'LL ONLY GET BETTER IN THE WAY THEY WRITE AND PRESENT THE MUSIC. AS FAR AS THE PRODUCTION QUALITY, THE DAYS OF MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR RECORD DEALS AND UNLIMITED STUDIO TIME WITH THE BEST ENGENEERS AND PRODUCERS ARE GONE, KURDT DID A BANG UP JOB ON HIS OWN!!! I think that this is one of the most perfect albums I have ever heard. As usual, Harem Scarem have produced a collection of outstanding songs filled with plenty of memorable hooks and solos. I think that this album is extra special because the songs flow seamlessly making the CD a joy to listen to all the way through every time. In addition, there is a great balance of heavy, melodic, ballad, acoustic sounds throughout. If you don't have this CD you are really missing out!

The best melodic rock album of 2002. How can this band the talented receive so little acclaim from the mainstrem music world? This album is loaded with excellent material from start to finish. Heavy guitar riffs and catchy choruses that give you that "high as a mountaintop" feeling. It's simple: Get this album. No futher analysis needed, trust me.

This is for your desert island.......2003-10-07

Mood Swings might still be the No. 1 Harem Scarem album, but WoW is a very close second. Both of them will come with me to my desert island. The strongest tracks are 'Killing Me', 'WoW', and 'Outside Your Window'. Powerful, rich, yet crisp production.

Harry's voice is strong, emotive, and melodic, as always.

And don't forget to bow down before the Guitar God, Pete Lesperance! [We're not worthy!] He's got more music in his mind and and technique in his fingers than any ten guitarists you could name. Satriana and EVH should have taken lessons from him.

It doesn't matter if this album comes out domestically under the Rubber name or HS. I just wish that all the rock radio stations would pick up on the brilliance of this band, and demonstrate to the complacent masses out there what real rock music could and should be. And if they don't, I won't care -- I'll be on my desert island with a generator, a CD player, and my HS collection.

Melodic rock for the 2000's!.......2003-04-12

I just started listening to this band about a year ago after reading a lot of great things about them on a couple of melodic rock websites. I purchased, listened to and loved both the debut and "Mood Swings" (especially the later), finding them to be near-perfect melodic rock. I had also read great things about this effort in particular, as it was described as the perfect melodic/modern rock blend. Well, after finally getting this one and giving it several listens, I must say that it absolutely lives up to the hype. It simply doesn't get much better than this.

The lead title track is a melodic monster, with a pretty heavy electric guitar sound and Harry Hess' voice sounding as melodic as ever. But yes, there is a slightly modern tint to it as well, which only enhances the vibe of this song. That is even more prevelant on the next track, the impossibly catchy "Killing Me". In fact, the hard rocking melodies don't slow up at all for the next two tracks as well; then you finally get a ballad (the only one of the album) at track five. For sure, "This Ain't Over" stands up to any classic melodic rock ballad I have ever heard. No real "modern" sound here compared to most of the tracks, but a fantastic track nonetheless.

It only gets better from here. I am particularly amazed with the chord progression on "You Ruined Everything", where the melodic/modern hybrid is at a peak in the chorus. (I love the notes hit on the word "all" in particular.) "Charmed Life" is another modern-sounding master piece (especially the verses), while "If You" is among the other amazing, sing-along tracks (with some great modern notes) that dominate this album.

I can't emphasize enough how amazing the musicianship on this album is. These guys are masters of their craft. It's too bad that these guys get no recognition outside of melodic rock circles. Clearly, many if not most of the songs on this album deserve heavy rotation on rock radio; but of course that will never happen. If you like artists like Def Leppard (in their popular prime), heavier tracks by the Goo Goo Dolls since they became popular, or lesser-known but amazing melodic rock acts like Giant and Hardline, then I guarantee you will like this band and this album. One of my most recommended albums of the decade thus far.
