Despite the perils of drought, bark beetle disease, wildfires, floods, landslides, and tragic personal loss, this duo's work was challenged, but not halted. REGENERATOR once again infect us! This twosome's tenacity has resulted in the refinement of their craft. As stated by a fan recently, "REGENERATOR make great music that has lasted the test of time". REGENERATOR offer their listeners two seperate versions of "Disease". The US and European releases each feature unique differences. Alfa Matrix offers the normal edition and strictly limited double-cd edition packaged in a special DVD box, with exclusive artwork, a bonus mini-cd, photos and stickers. Once again, REGENERATOR cover an old classic, offering their own version of "Don't Fear The Reaper". This was inspired by their current soundtrack work with independent film makers, Broken Pictures (formerly Burning Glass Pictures). Also featured is a bonus music video of "Terrible Love", directed by Ezequiel who is a core member of Broken Pictures. Other pieces resulting from this collaboration include "Fatale", and "The Grave", a stunning and beautifully haunting instrumental which closes the album. Be warned, there is no cure! I like the album. I heard the song "organism" from an internet radio station, which led me to purchase the album. My only disappointment was where I heard "organism", it was a different version then from the album. But I am still happy purchased this album!! This album will definatly keep you going with its clubby beats.

Regenerator's 5th album is a great sign of further artistic development and growth. This is another CD that rarely leaves my stereo. It is focused thematically in regards to the topics of war; religious fanaticism ("God is On My Side"); love, which can be interpreted on many levels, from romantic love to the early Christian concept of Agape ("Take Me"); hope "Faith", among others. Unlike the gloom'n'doom of most industrial bands, Regenerator offers hope and optimism instead of fear and pessimism.

Musically, they continue the use of their signature sound of thick heavy beats and spacey trance ambience, with slightly more pop-ish, hook-laden sensibilities. It is a testament to their artistry and devotion that they've been around for 10 years, which is somewhat rare for most industrial bands, let alone those on indie labels.

I have to say I have some mixed feelings about this bands work, however it is on a purely theological basis... bottom line the tracks themselves are awesome... it is a statement to their artistic abilities to bring so much emotion to the surface in a listener, sometimes subtle, and sometimes right in my face. Othertimes I catch myself slipping into this erie dream with them, buying it all lock, stock, and barrell.

Grinding beats, proto-plasmic electronica dripping from every groove, Patrice with her haunting voice and lyrics and Wrex's backdrop of deep, sonorous, and sometimes apocalyptic overtones... this record gets better with each listen. I disagree with those that say it is prophetic of the events of the past year, rather I would say that they were in tune to the underlying darkness, unrest, and hatred which our society (conveniently) ignores.

For me the mix of what I find beautiful and sometimes revolting about their work reminds me much of the end of Herman Hesse's Sidhartha, when Siddhartha is enlightened, and the beauty and tragedy of life is canvassed upon his face, from the brutality of murder, to the innocence and potenitial of a newborn baby, it's all there. Hey, it's all there on this CD..

Buy it. For those into industrial and techno, it is a must have.

It's great, has some unique mixes, but why doesn't Amazon carry the import version? I have both, and enjoy the US Version - but the two disc import is permanently loaded in my CD Changer!

If you're not familiar with this duo, they are a unique blend of industrial, goth, and techno - haunting vocals, substantial social commentary, and great groove.

Try to get the import set - but if you can't, pick this up - better yet get them both.

What can I say, Regenerator is by far one of the finest EBM bands ever! I own all of their previous albums and singles (some of which are out of print!), so this retrospective of both old and new remixes is a real treasure trove for me!

This CD is excellent! Each remix is unique, presenting fresh reinterpretations of old favorites and one track from Regenerator's upcoming album Disease, entitled Organism (bound to be another classic for the band!). The listener is treated to older remixes courtesy of industrial luminaries such as Front 242 and newer ones from such artists as Assemblage 23. This CD serves as a fine retrospective (albeit through the lens of artists other than Regenerator) showcasing both the superb vocals and songwriting of Wrex and Patrice Mock. It's also a great starting point for those unfamiliar with the band and its previous releases (all of which are imports with the exception of '99's Debugged and the Millennia Mixes).

If you like these remixes, I suggest you also purchase the European version of this album from the Regenerator website, which is a 2 CD set of album tracks and even more remixes that are not featured on the US version. The US should've received a 2 CD set like the one Europe got, but I guess Regenerator couldn't afford it. In short, buy both versions since there are remixes unique to both releases (with some overlapping) so you can enjoy ALL of these outstanding remixes!

Regenerator's "Soulseeker" is in their unique style of potent mixture of spacey-ambience, electro-industrial trance and techno beats, which would not be out of place as the soundtrack for Bladerunner or the Matrix. Patrice's vocals are powerful, seductive and ethereal. The lyrical subject matter touch upon a wide range of topics from the hypocrisy of organized religion ("Megawhore"), conspiracy theories (the very creepy "Lightbringer"), love ("Rush"-one of my favourite songs here - spiritual, passionate and ecstatic), and nightmare visions of the endtimes ("Wirklichkeit"). Regenerator may utilize Christian themes, but one does not need to be a Christian to appreciate the artistry of the music, and they don't come across as being evangelical about promoting that aspect of it.
