Fear Factory has always been interested in technology, so it comes as no surprise that the group has decided to re-mix its 1995 disc Demanufacture. What is surprising is how seamlessly the band's riffs and rhythms blend with the pulsing beats and interstellar sounds of 1997's electronic music. Unlike many remix albums which simply augment songs with a smattering of computer effects, on Remanufacture, Fear Factory severely restructures and re-interprets its recordings to the point where the source material is sometimes unrecognizable. If Demanufacture was industrialized metal, Remanufacture is metallic techno that relies on ambient, drum & bass, and trip-hop beats as the foundation for the band's dynamic aural facelift. Welcome to the next millennium. --Jon Wiederhorn

5 out of 5 stars good remixes here.......2007-07-24

This is a good album. This album is all remixes from their Demanufacture album. I had already heard and loved that album, along with their first album, Soul of a New Machine.

This has many great mixes on it and some that I didn't even recognize until they sung the chorus. This whole album has a great feel to it. This was not meant to be a strict metal album, but a variation.

All of songs here are retitled and arranged out of sequence. There are only two "new" songs here. One is a short little transition called Bionic Chronic, and the other is the ending song, Refinery, which is basically just a sound effects track filled with quiet industrial sounds which is very atmospheric and downright relaxing. I didn't expect to hear this here.

There are some not so good mixes here (T-1000 for example) but the rest are top notch. As I have said before this is not strict metal and not meant to be. It's a clone of what metal is, hence the additional title here: cloning technology.

Anyway, I have always liked this thing and the songs are arranged perfectly. Its interesting to hear these mixes and the originals side by side. In fact I made a tape of this quite a while ago. I might have to track it down again. And I might have to listen to this CD tonight.

Anyway, this is album is five stars. I think of this album as an alternate remix progression, apart from their regular CD's. Buy this and enjoy it for exactly what it is.

2 out of 5 stars If you like Fear Factory, don't buy this........2006-05-19

Demanufacture is one of my favorite fear factory albums, it is second only to archetype. But when i heard the remixes of remanufacture i was completely horrified. As a metal head, i was very disapointed when i first heard the big electric dance beats kick in(very out of place). This album is far from any metal I've ever heard, and if you're like me, a true metal head, dont waste another second on this album. Hopefully like me, you will enjoy Fear Factory much more when they are actually playing their instruments and not the synthesizer. Buy "DE"manufacture!

5 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS ALBUM!.......2005-07-30

THIS IS KINDA INDUSTRIAL, KINDA TECHNO INFUSED ROCK....

IF YOU LIKE ORGY, RAMSSTEIN, ETC., THIS KINDA REMINDS ME A LITTLE OF THOSE BANDS...

IT'S NOT LIKE THE OTHER ALBUMS (QUITE RECOGNIZABLY), BUT IT SUMS UP WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS BAND: YOU WILL NEVER HEAR THE SAME THING TWICE...

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME,
-CHRIS-

4 out of 5 stars it `s alright.......2005-07-11

I don`t have this version i have the reissue of demanufacture with this oone in it but i desided to write them sepertly.I think is ok but what i dont like is that with a corny dance beat with the chorus repeated a hundred times bothers me but some of the remixes are really cool like remanufacture and others but i wish they put the remixes in order of the album so id know what song it is.I like fear factorys industrial side and this is cool that you get the full album thats awesome.Demanufacture was awesome this one is ok if you really like demanufacture get this one or obselete

3 out of 5 stars Fear Factory - 'Remanufacture' (Roadrunner).......2005-03-22

Fear Factory has never been one of my favorites.Although I remember seeing them open for Ozzy awhile back.I've had maybe like two of their releases in hand at most.'Remanufacture' is decent, but the other problem here is that unless you're a major fan or you're very much into remixes, you might want to think twice before getting a copy of this disc. Some of the tracks here I thought were okay are the title cut "Remanufacture","Genetic Blueprint","21st Century Jesus" and "T-1000".So-so industrial metal.Line-up:Burton C.Bell-vocals,Dino Cazares-guitar,Raymond Herrera-drums and Christian Olde Wolbers-bass.Should appeal to fans of Machine Head,Nailbomb,Coal Chamber and Earth Crisis.
