5 out of 5 stars A GREAT SET OF LUNGS AND A GREAT GUITAR.......2007-07-09

I'll keep it short and simple . If you're a Graham Bonnet fan , then this cd is a must. I've always been a Bonnet fan and recently found out that he recorded 2 cd's (this one and System X ) with a guitarist named Chris Impellitteri . Well Impellitteri is a fantastic and amazing guitar player and Bonnets amazing vocals go perfect together . It really is a great cd from start to finish. Pick it up !

5 out of 5 stars You can't handle the truth!!.......2007-02-25

Impelliteri's STAND IN LINE interested me since Graham Bonnet was listed as the singer. Otherwise, I had never listened to anything by Impelliteri. Shame on me. Don't pay any attention to the negative reviews you might see about this CD. This is not for the weak at heart by any means. Chris Impelliteri and his guitar are a lethal combination and with Bonnet's vocals this album will knock you out.

2 out of 5 stars a product from the "music circus" days ..........2006-01-09

Chris had the most ridiculous hairdo and the speediest hands of all times and that's about it. Of course this and being dressed like half medieval half clown was part of the scene in those days. I call them the "music circus" (also Hair Band) days and they go from about 1984 on to the beginning of the nineties when grunge became the fashion. A lot of the music made during that period didn't stand the test of time because it takes a lot more than acrobat techniques and flashy outfits to make good music. This record is for speedsolo-freaks and Graham Bonnet-fans only, not for those looking for a catchy soul-moving metal classic.

4 out of 5 stars Graham bonnet rules........2005-01-20

What can i say about this great hard rock rainbow like album?
Graham bonnet create with his voice, fantasy and mysterious
images in the mind of the audience.
The only bad in this album is the two unnecessary instrumentals
"over the rainbow" and "playing with fire".Chris impellitteri
almost destroy with this two useless instrumentals that great album.
All the other songs are just hard rock masterpieces.
Four stars for a great hard rock album.

5 out of 5 stars Rainbow's Down to Earth, Part 2.......2004-12-16

This is an excellent hard rock pyrotechnics show. Great writing, wall-of-sound production, and top-notch musicanship make this a delight. And add in the wild vocal acrobatics of the incredible Graham Bonnet (ex-Rainbow, MSG, etc.), and you've got a screaming hard rock classic. If you dig Rainbow's "Down to Earth," you'll dig this too.

5 out of 5 stars Great Release of Impellitteri (1988 A.D.).......2003-02-14

I must say that Chris Impellitteri
Played with a couple of veterans when
it came to the Rock Metal Scene. Chris
at the time was a very young guitarist
who was making headlines in the popular
music Metal magazines of the Mid 80's and
Early 90's. Christopher Impellitteri played with
Vocalist Graham Bonnet, He sang for Rainbow,
along with other talented players such as Pat
Torpey, Chuck Wright, and Keyboardist Phil Wolfe
[from Drive].The sound is raw, but the band plays
very well. Impellitteri is still fast today as he
was in that day when he made this album titled "
Stand in Line." I really like all the songs on this tape,
but i know that todays technology includes the compact disc.
Many guitarists out there do not have the blazing speed that
Impellitteri possesses. This Cd has great tunes, one tune that might stick out a whole lot is "Since You've Been Gone".The music is very heavy, and Graham Bonnet's vocals blend in well.
I recommend this cd titled "Stand In Line" By Christopher "Chris"Impellitteri.

2 out of 5 stars How NOT to make an album.......2003-01-26

I recently purchased "Stand in Line" solely based on Mr. Impellitteri's reputation as a speedy guitarist. Unfortunately, the bulk of his solo playing is buried due to poor mixing. What I can hear sounds fast, but very mechanical and uninspired.

As with most shredders, comparisons to Yngwie are unavoidable. However, I hear more similarity in the songwriting than the soloing. The song structures, chord voicings, and even instrument tones are so Malmsteen-esque it's not funny.

By far, the biggest disappointment to me was the inclusion of a 5+ minute cover of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" right in the middle of the album. While his interpretation of the classic tune was mildly interesting, it certainly didn't fit with the other material. I could see using it as a hidden track at the end, but that's about it. Why he chose to stick it smack dab in the middle is beyond me.

If you're into shred-style guitar, I honestly feel you could do much better than "Stand in Line." Sorry Chris.

4 out of 5 stars Rare Collection of Midnight Oil Hits and Remixes.......2007-03-30

This extremely rare Midnight Oil release is notable for its attractive green packaging that showcases the band's commitment to environmental causes. The songs include many of their greatest tunes, including "Power and the Passion," "The Dead Heart," and "Hercules." The second half provides some enjoyable remixes, particularly the Food on the Table Mix of "Blue Sky Mine." It also contains the excellent "Gunbarrel Highway," which was only provided on the Australian release of the breakout Diesel and Dust album, and an energetic live version of the late '70s classic "Stand In Line."

This collection is probably not worth the high price unless you are a Midnight Oil completist. If you're able to locate a good deal, however, it is highly recommended and offers an upbeat mix of rousing anthems.

The first Impellitteri CD I ever had and it was a great one. In the early stages of shred and killer songs, it was a welcomed piece of work and set the new pace of playing. I like the title track but was floored by the Somewhere over the Rainbow instrumentel. And toninght I will fly absolutly rocked. Highly recomended to all shred and progressive hard rock fans.
