5 out of 5 stars Fantastic PC69 collection..........2007-04-20

If you are new to Pink Cream 69, as I was after I purchased Electrified - BUY THIS!!! This is a great way to get three great albums at a very good price. Electrified hooked me and I was truly a fish on the line - I had to have more. Powerful melodic metal at its BEST. Generally I don't like to compare bands, but PC69 stacks up with any band from the 80's with most comparisons being to Dokken. PC69 has great songwriting, great playing and standout vocals. See each album for individual reviews.
A great box set from a great band!

4 out of 5 stars Great collection of PC69 albums.......2006-10-07

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Pink Cream 69 is the absolute best melodic hard rock band in the world right now. I know that's a bold statement, but I think the band's releases since the late 90's more than prove my point.

Case in point: the albums found in this nifty little box set. You get 2000's Sonic Dynamite, 2001's Endangered, and a cool live/covers EP called Mixery. Sonic Dynamite may just be the band's best album ever, and Endangered isn't that far behind it. This is first-class melodic hard rock music that borders on being metal. Hell, there are times when PC69 rocks harder than many metal bands. Think of classic melodic rock bands like Dokken or TNT with a heavy injection of pure adrenaline. That's what PC69 delivers. Dennis Ward is an amazing player/songwriter/producer, and vocalist David Readman has a set of pipes that will knock your socks off.

If you like powerful and melodic hard rock music and have yet to hear PC69, buy this box set. It's a great introduction to the band, and just a great collection of albums. Most hard rock fans should love these discs. Metal fans should too. AOR purists may need oxygen after hearing them, but they'll probably love them as well. They're just that good.

5 out of 5 stars I'm running out of ways to say these guys are awesome........2007-05-19

The appropriately titled In10sity is the 10th release by melodic rock masters Pink Cream 69. It's also the 5th in a succession of near perfect melodic hard rock albums. Ever since 1998's Electrified, PC69 has been consistently delivering the kind of powerful albums that most bands are lucky to record once (if ever) in their careers.

In10sity stays pretty close to the formula perfected on the band's other recent releases. You have tons of monster guitar hooks, fist-pumping rock anthems, and the deadly one-two punch of David Readman's (pardon the pun) electrifying vocal performance and Dennis Ward's masterful songwriting/mixing/producing/ and of course musicianship. Readman is fast becoming my favorite vocalist (watch out, DC Cooper!) and that has a lot to do with the influence of Dennis Ward's songwriting and production. It's not a coincidence that all of the best melodic rock albums in recent memory have his name associated with them at some level.

Pink Cream 69 may not have taken many chances with their 10th album, but when you've reached this level of perfection, maybe you don't need to. This is another stunning melodic hard rock album by one of the genre's absolute best bands. There are a lot of great melodic rock and metal acts out there. Pretty Maids, TNT, Last Tribe, and Jorn all come to mind, but Pink Cream 69 really is in a league all their own.

NOTE: Naturally there is an expensive Japanese import version of In10sity that has an exclusive bonus track. I realize they have to throw those extras at the Japanese market to reward their unflinching loyalty to this kind of music, but it's still frustrating. I think a "b-side" compilation collecting all of the various PC69 bonus tracks is in order so that the loyal PC69 fans can finally hear what we've been missing.

5 out of 5 stars Unbelievable melodic metal..........2007-04-20

Electrified was my introduction to Pink Cream 69 and by the time I heard the first chourus of Shame, I was hooked. Generally, I don't like to compare bands, but the comparisons to Dokken are valid. PC69 writes great songs, are very good players and David Readman delivers standout vocals. There really isn't a bad song on the album and there is truly some of the best melodic metal you will hear.

Song Highlights include: Shame, Break The Silence, Electrified, Burn Your Soul, Rocket Ride and Gone Again. They range from stomping rock to beautiful ballads.

Any fan of 80's/Melodic metal should love this, or any other PC69 album. I've purchased 4 more since getting Electrified and WILL get more.

5 out of 5 stars WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2007-04-11

first album i've heard from these guys. i had given up on real music after nirvana ruined it but these guys give me hope. it's metal but with a twist you can't explain. great melodies and great singing. i'm a 80's metal guy (priest, maiden, dio etc...) and this has a fresh sound while still rocking. could do without the 2 slow tunes but the rest of the songs make up for it. discover these guys!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Amazing Album.......2006-07-26

This is not an easy review for me to write. For one reason, whatever I write will fail to accurately describe how flat-out awesome this album is. For another reason, it is difficult to pinpoint exactly what the ludicrously-named Pink Cream 69's sound is all about. Some other reviewers have compared them to Firehouse, Slaughter, and the Scorpions. While I can see their point to one extent - if you like those bands, you'll no doubt enjoy PC69 - it doesn't adequately describe just what you're going to hear when you spin Electrified.

In a nutshell, Pink Cream 69 plays melodic hard rock that borders on heavy metal. Sounds simple, doesn't it? The thing is; PC69 is so much better than nearly every other melodic rock band. This isn't an album full of Journey wanna-be ballads. This is a kick in the teeth hard rock album. Dennis Ward is probably the best songwriter in the genre today, and his work here is untouchable. Each song blazes with incredible energy, which is totally appropriate given the album's title. Vocalist David Readman is phenomenal here as well. I'd rate him a close second to DC Cooper with regards to this kind of music (and you can see from my other reviews that I idolize DC Cooper), and his voice on this album is like bottled lightning (also appropriate).

Standout tracks on Electrified are, well, all of them. There isn't a weak moment on the entire disc, unless you count the somewhat goofy hidden track. But that one is supposed to be goofy, so...

I still feel like I'm selling this amazing album short, so I'm going to end this with a recommendation. If you like hard rock music, buy this album. Seriously. Hard rock fans should love this. Metal fans should too. AOR purists may need oxygen after hearing it, but they'll probably love it as well. It's just that good.

5 out of 5 stars Phenomenal CD by an outstanding band!!! .......2005-09-25

I found this CD at a dollar store and had never heard of these guys before. The first couple times I listened to it in my car, I thought, "Yeah, this is pretty cool...". Then I played it for my wife. We have both been obsessed with this CD ever since!
We listen to it so much, that our 8 month old daughter can sing the word "electrified" and the phrase "All I want is the best...". I have just recently ordered 4 of this band's releases after this one. That's how impressed I am with this band! I will say that this is one of my favorite CDs of all time (and I am very critical when it comes to music)! If you like this, also check out "Loudness-Thunder in the East","Giuffria", or "Blue Murder-Nothin' but trouble". All of these CDs deserve FIVE STAR ratings as far as I'm concerned...enjoy!!!

5 out of 5 stars Possibly the best rock band to come out of the 90's.......2001-03-24

You like hard-hitting rock? Check. How about super-clear vocals coming from someone who can actually sing? Check. Melodies and hooks? Check. From the pounding drums to the intricate guitar work, Pink Cream 69 is a rock & roll dream. It's loud, it's proud, and best of all it's FUN! None of that dreary 90's sound here. Lots of folks are saying PC 69 is just like an "80's band," and while that's true (they started then, anyway!), please realize that they're like the GOOD 80's rock bands. (Good being subjective, of course.) Think early Stryper, minus the message. Or Dokken, Scorpions, or the Eric Carr-era Kiss. If you like those bands, you'll not be disappointed with this one. And the best of all? Their new release, "Sonic Dynamite," just came out, and it blisters too. So buy 'em, please...let's keep this band in business!

4 out of 5 stars Honestly, Does PC69 ever make a poor album?.?.?.......2007-04-20

The answer, in my opinion, is so far NO. I got into Pink Cream 69 a little over a month ago when I purchased Electrified on the recommendation of Amazon, since then I've picked up 4 more albums. Thunderdome delivers more amazing melodic rock/metal with the bands' usual high quality. David Readman can deliver a vocal that can amaze you - he can stand toe to toe with anyone around today. Alfred Koffler is a very good guitarist; Dennis Ward(bass) and Kosta Zafiriou(drums) hold things together. Listen for the production on the drums, there's a crispness and snap that's really cool.

Song Highlghts include: Gods Come Together(powerful rocker), Here I Am, That Was Yesterday, Shelter(my personal favorite), My Sharona(it may be a cover - but it's a good one), Another Wrong Makes A Right and See Your Face(very cool piano groove).

Thunderdome is another, in a long line, of great releases from PC69. It simply does not get much better if you are looking for powerful melodic metal, with the whole package - songwriting, musicianship and production.

5 out of 5 stars This is what I want everytime!.......2006-12-14

Thank God that Pink Cream 69 knows how to deliver the goods. This album is heavy and filled with outstanding riffs and awesome vocal melodies. The songs are very memorable and the quality goes on throughout the entire album. I have alot of PC69 CD's but I like this one the best because the production is huge and the riffs are insane! By the way, David Readman is an awesome singer whose vocal melodies are so good it's unbeleivable and when he gets those killer harmonies and backing vocals going it is magic. I can't wait for their new album due out in 2007.

4 out of 5 stars PC69 Never Disappoints.......2006-03-27

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Pink Cream 69 is the absolute best melodic hard rock band in the world right now. I know that's a bold statement, but I believe it more and more every time PC69 releases a new album.

Thunderdome is the band's latest album, and it is superb. It follows very closely along the same lines as Electrified and Sonic Dynamite. It's very heavy, bordering on being a metal album, but is always melodic. Dennis Ward is fast becoming one of the best songwriters in the genre, and Thunderdome reaffirms that. Nearly every song on this disc is a winner, with the exception of the throwaway introductory track "the Last Stance" and a cover of the Knack's "My Sharona". I'm sure the band had fun with that one, but it really throws a monkeywrench into an otherwise cohesive album. As always, David Readman's clear and powerful vocals are top-notch. Next to DC Cooper, Readman has just about the best voice for this style of music.

AOR/melodic rock fans probably already know how great Pink Cream 69 is. For any metal fans who are thinking about trying the band out, I say go for it. The band played at ProgPower USA last year and made believers of about 1200 metal fans.

1 out of 5 stars The bad stuff of the 80s.......2005-08-17

After I read all the glowing reviews about this CD I took a chance on a band I had never heard of and purchased this CD. DAMN, what a mistake!!! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and to the people who like this, more power to ya. But to my ears this CD contains all the worst aspects of the 80s Hard Rock arena. The stuff that I like is the grittier, more street type music and bands, such as the top of the heap, Guns N' Roses, and then the rest like: Faster Pussycat, L.A Guns, from NYC Spread Eagle, and then more recent bands D-Generation and Buckcherry. I was not into the Winger/Slaughter type music, which is squarely where this band and CD fall into. Everything is processed, nothing feels 'real'. The vox and guitars have all the cliches and 'overdoneness' that were the worst part of Hard Rock from the past. You can almost imagine the band-members making their funny faces in the cheesiest of videos when listening to these songs. It is over-produced, sterile, lame schlock n' roll if u ask me. And just for more reference. I am definitely a RnR nut. My collection of music borders in the thousands between the cds and records. And once again to the people who liked this cd, hey different strokes for different folks but I just wanted to warn others so they know what they're getting themselves into. Take care all.

5 out of 5 stars 80s music with new millenium production.......2005-06-24

PC 69 is an awesome band. I have three of their albums, and I am yet to be dissappointed. PC 69 is in-your-face 80s metal, but with way better sound and production. Nothing fancy in the instrument department, but the songs are well crafted. The real strength is vocalist David Readman. I first came across David when he was in Adagio. I was blown away by his range and tone. Nothing is forced from his voice. He has a natural sound. He is probably my favorite singer in the prog genre. Every song is killer, but my favorites are "Gods Come Together", "Thunderdome", "Shelter", "Another Wrong Makes a Right", and "Carnaby Road". "That Was Yesterday" is a great ballad. The two bonus tracks are awesome as well. If you like the good bands from the 80s, like Whitesnake & Dokken, PC 69 is right up your alley! Highly recommended!

know where to look.Highly recommended !!!.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome.......2007-02-03

I originally heard their album 'One Size Fits All' and thought it was great, but I think this one is even stronger. The guitar leads are just wicked, on par with old Dokken solos and the songs are very catchy and powerful. But the main standout to me is the vocals; Andi Derris (now with Helloween) is monstrous. Incredible high range and with an awesome 'roughness' to his voice that most singers hitting those upper notes don't tend to have. It compliments this type of music perfectly. Check out 'One Step Into Paradise' on Youtube for a good example.

The other reviewer mentions that this EP is a little pricey and it is, but fans of the band will LOVE it. I personally got it in the "Platinum Edition" box set - a GREAT collection. Mixery has stuff from when Andy Deris was the singer(One Step Into Paradise), an acoustic version of Seas Of Madness(very cool), an unreleased song(King Of My World) from the Sonic Dynamite sessions - how this wasn't on the album mystifies me, live recordings of Shame and Break The Silence(taken from a bootlegger by show security) and a cover of Motley Crue's Looks That Kill.
Fans shouldn't hesitate to get this, it's a great addition to the PC69 catalog.

5 out of 5 stars Wow! Get This CD Now!.......2001-09-01

what a great band and what a great cd for their fans...sure its a little pricey, but you see these guys have something called talent...i know most people don't hear that word often these days...thats for a reason though...because what you hear on the radios and on MTV and such are media hyped ... not even worth mentioning...eminem can go play with his self (his alter ego) meanwhile i'll be enjoying great music like pc 69...anything you see by them grab it...if you like these guys check out Fair Warning,Soul Doctor, Fiore,Savannah,Gotthard,Bonfire,Pretty Maids,Adagio,D.A.D.,Talisman,Takara as well as many other great bands that you wont see on American TV..and if you like things a little heavier, check out Seven Wishes,Secret Sphere,Projecto,Symphony X,Helloween,At Vance,Hemisphere,Highlord,Dark Moor,Timescape, twilight kingdom ,etc

5 out of 5 stars Oh boy, another Japanese bonus track........2007-05-19
