Like no other Tribute you'll ever hear!.......2007-03-24
Being a lifelong Zeppelin fan and fortunate enough to have seen them in the 74-75 timeframe, I think I qualify as a purist and admirer of all things Zeppelin. (past, present and future). Great White's tribute to Zeppelin blew me away! All too often I hear tribute bands change around the tune to compensate for shortcomings or make it too much about them.
Great White did the rarity. They performed a live version of Zeppelin songs as you wish Zep did. Rather than the bloated and hard to listen to "Song Remains the Same" recording, just put this on and sit back. You won't be disappointed. I just wish the CD contained the MTV unplugged Great White rendition of "Babe, I'm gonna leave you", and a new recording of "That's The Way", then everything would be complete.
If Jack Russell reads this. Do us Great White and Zeppelin fans a favor and do another record with more Led Zeppelin tunes.

The CD is great, but as i ask my husband, "why wouldn't you just listen to Zeppelin then?" His response? You have all the great songs on one CD. He LOVES it.
Good Zepp Covers, But No where near Perfect........2006-10-24
I am one of the worlds biggest Led Zeppelin Fans, I own all there CD's. My Friend burned me a copy of this and said it was almost as good as the original Zeppelin. Well, I have to say its better then any other band covering Zeppelin songs, However, Its no where near the real Zeppelin. Jack Russel deos the best job out of all the band members in capturing the Zeppelin Spirit. He even sounds somewhat simular to Plant, although Plant had much more vocal range. The Guitarist Doesnt have the all around skill that Page had, no where near. Since Ive been loving you sounds like a mess. The Drumer Just cant touch Bonham at all, and whoever is on the Keyboards needs to stop. Also they should have tried songs like Rock n Roll, Black Dog, Whole Lotta Love, or Dazed and confused, these are the songs that helped shape Zeppelin into the greatest Rock and Roll Band ever. Now for the positive stuff. They did do stairway, and its the best cover of it, its still not Zepp but its desent. I liked the way they did the rover, Russels Vocals on that song sounded a lot like Plant. So, in all this album isnt close to the Great Led Zeppelin, but they did do a pretty desent job thats why I cant give it under 3 stars. But if you want to hear the real Zeppelin get How the West was Won, the DVD, or BBC Sessions which all get 5 stars, they blow this CD away. Even The song remains the same sound track is better it deserves 4 stars. Oh I forgot to mention the Version of the Immigrant song on this CD sucks, Badly.
what an awesome album.......2006-09-30
Being a fan of both Led Zep and Great White, what an awesome combination. Great White was awesome in concert too, which is the best test for a truly awesome band, without all the techno to improve their vocals and other sounds. Sorry to hear of the tragedy that Great White experienced. I hope they will make a comeback.
GREAT WHITE - GET THE LED OUT .......2006-06-21
This collection from Great White is a nice listening alternative for Led Zeppelin fans. (I am one of those fans) It is rumored that when Great White first started out, they cut their teeth on Led Zeppelin songs.
This collection rocks, there are songs performed here that Led Zeppelin very rarely performed live, to the best of my recollection. Those songs are: IN THE LIGHT, LIVING LOVING MAID, RAMBLE ON, TANGERINE, THE ROVER, WHEN THE LEVEE BREAKS.
I saw Zep perform in '77 and the first Page/Plant tour.
Great White performs 14 Zeppelin songs and sticks essentially to the studio versions. No extended jams, just basic rockin Zep. Jack Russell does a great job on vocals, very Robert Plant
like in most cases, on some songs, he is tremendous - In The Light, Ramble On, No Quarter, Going To California, Immigrant Song. The bands' music is on the mark.
If there wasn't commentary between songs, play Ramble On, Immigrant Song, Going To California, to Zep fans and see if they can detect the difference, I could not hear a difference from the real thing.
It takes a lot of moxy to perform Stairway, and it is the final song on the CD. The songs that I didn't think hit the mark were D'yer Maker and All My Love. But 12 out of 14 are great recordings. This is the best Zep tribute CD I have heard, bar none. Purists may not like this, but this CD is a good addition to your Led Zeppelin collection. There is a Whole Lotta Led here.
