).
The Ring Song is a great new arrangement of the charming story of Hanuman finding the kidnapped Mother Sita, given a slightly less "rock and role" treatment than the one recorded on "Pilgrim Heart," but still lots of fun.
The second CD has two spoken versions of the Chalisa for those of us who aspire eventually to learn the words - one a slow complete recitation, the other - even slower -has each line repeated twice. My only small complaints are (a) I would have liked a slow version set to music, which makes memorization easier and (b) Driving would be safer if each line (or pair of lines) had been recorded as a separate track. That would have saved a lot of trouble searching through the disc while practicing.
Music, inspiration, an (optional) "workshop" in chant, and bliss all packaged into one CD. Krishna Das has truly offered us a masterpiece of grace.
Amazing!.......2007-05-24
This CD is truly amazing! No one can sing the Hanuman Chalesa like Krishna Das. Every variation of this song is beautiful and the additional CD of pronunciation is incredibly helpful for those of us who would like to learn how to sing along with Krishna Das' incredible voice. Every time I play this CD during one of my yoga classes, I have students asking for the name of the CD at the end of class. This CD moves me to my soul every time I listen to it. Even my five-year old tells me that listening to his CD "makes his heart happy". This is a must-have CD!

Excellent for babies and family.......2007-01-22
This CD is mandatory in the car and it relax everybody. It has classic music but without many sudden ups and downs. I would like to buy the whole collection next time.
A great CD for the car.......2007-01-04
We were given one from these series of CDs for babies and our daughter loves it, so we bought this one. It is a really nice collection of soft music and we usually play it in the car. A great addition to your baby's music collection.
Baby Neptune.......2006-03-18
I love all of the Baby Einstein DVD's, so the music CD has been just as good as the DVD's. I play it all the time when my son is in the car and it seems to calm him and keep his attention. I even listen to it in the car when my son is not with me. It is relaxing and soothing.
Baby Neptune Review.......2006-01-17
Our daughter loves the Baby Neptune CD. It makes for a relaxing musical interlude for long car trips.

"Everybody wanna be the king of the South" rhymes the P$C crew (featuring T.I. and Lil Scrappy), kicking off the Hustle & Flow soundtrack with the amped-up "I'm A King" remix. This film, about a Memphis hustler trying to become a respected rapper, won the Audience Award at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, and appropriately, the soundtrack has the hottest dirty South (a.k.a. crunk) songs around. Lead actor Terrence Howard is a double-threat, not just playing up-and-coming rapper DJay, but also performing on a number of tracks in character. From the blacksploitation-affected "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp" to the equally ('70s-esque title track, his contributions are respectable, but not nearly as pumped-up and crunked-out as the disc's standout tracks. Although the CD is rap-heavy, there are some great moments on the R&B front as well, including Eightball & M.J.G.'s lost-love track "Tell Me Why," and the disc highlight, "Still Tippin'", a Mike Jones/Nicole Wray remix that brings sweet Tweet-like grooves to the collection. Some of the CD's other contributors include Juvenile (who is typically clever in "Booty Language") and Webbie, who battles with Trina on "Bad B**ch Remix". Moms and dads should be forewarned, however, that there is nothing subtle about the lyrics on this disc: true to crunk, every imaginable expletive is crammed into these 20 songs and sound bytes, along with a hefty dose of gang-style posturing. For the under-18 set, best reach for the clean version. --Denise Sheppard

Hustlers With Flow.......2007-04-03
The original soundtrack for the Memphis' film Hustle & Flow begins with "I'm A King (Remix)" by PSC featuring T.I. & Lil Scrappy fit perfectly for the movie's subject. For the ride Lil' Boosie & Webbie represented well on "Swerve". The Oscar winning song "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp" produced by Memphis own DJ Paul & Juicy J of Three 6 Mafia and performed by actor Terrence Howard (DJay) featuring Shug carried the album and movie with a heartfelt performance of the street life. Another famous act from Memphis, 8Ball & MJG stuck to their formula with "Tell Me Why". If no one understood the style 'crunk', "Whoop That Trick" by Djay epitomize the term. With the looping chant throughout the song, "...you do wanna do that..." on "Man Up" by Trillville gets the adrenaline flowing for another rush, but was held down with lack luster lyrical content. "Carbon 15's, A.K.'s & Mac 11's" performed by Boyz N Da Hood is a three verse shot that was followed by "Lil' Daddy" from Young City (Chopper) with contents such as "...I done walked for that cheesecake, now I got cheesecake oh yeah..." for a complete song. Djay stepped up for the third time for the title track, "Hustle and Flow (It Ain't Over)" with a pimp instrumentation and vocals to "...keep hustlin'..." "Still Tippin' (It's A Man's World Remix)" could not have been any better because no matter who remade the original it would still be good. This version was performed by Mike Jones featuring Nicole Wray, but it should have been the other way around. PSC's "Murder Game" without their leader T.I. was still worthy of recognition. There are others on here that decent enough to listen to, but are simply mediocre. Okay, honestly how did an actor out perform some of the artist on this soundtrack? Maybe it would have been more complete if Djay (Terrence Howard) had performed the entire soundtrack himself. For the most part Hustle & Flow flows well for the hustlers!
Hustle & Flow is a great album.......2007-03-23
I love this album. Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson did their thing. And it has a lot of other good songs. My favs are: I'm a king remix(P$C), It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp(Terrence Howard), Tell Me Why(MJG), P***y N***az(E-40),Whoop That Trick(Terrence Howard),Bad B**ch Remix (Webbie&Trina), and Still Tippin' (It's A Man's World Remix)-(Mike Jones & Nicole Wray). It was worth the money. Watching the movie makes you want the album to go along with it.
Best rap album I've bought in a while.......2007-01-24
This CD is worth it just to hear Terrence Howard on "Whoop that Trick" (credited as Djay). The surprise is that there are at 4 or 5 other great tracks, and the rest are decent.
Hip hop for those who don't like rap.......2006-11-11
If I hadn't seen the movie, I might not like the music so much. But even so I think I would have liked it more than I do most hip hop. The lyrics are timely and sensitive, and the music had merit too. I'd advise anyone to see the movie, and give the music a fair hearing.

Ushered Into the Presence of GOD!.......2007-06-29
Every performance was phenomenal! Every song was filled with love and the Presence of God! Excellent job - Dr Henry Panion III, Jonathan Butler and Prophetess Juanita Bynum! Highly recommend! A+++++
"Wonderful".......2007-06-27
This is a beautiful CD. Two of my favorite artist on the same CD?...WHAT A BLESSING!!! Whoever decides to purchase this will also be blessed. I love it. Recommended with a smile.
Ed Dent.......2007-06-08
Super CD. I had originally bought this as a retirement gift for someone in my ministry. After being told it blessed her, I purchased it myself. I have become a Juanita Bynum fan. After hearing this I later purchased 2 others for a friend and relative.
Amazing.......2007-04-19
Juanita Bynum is truly an inspiration. I pray that God continues to bless her as she touches people with her music.
weird combination.......2007-04-08
While I am all about Gospel, and Hip Hop, Jazz and all that. And I am one who knows Hip hop doesnt all sound the same. But to me, this DVD sounded the same on every song from Juanita. Imagine an Orchastra, and then pair it up with someone on stage Screaming. It makes no sense, all of her songs sounded the same. The screams were constant throughtout the CD. Now, I am a Christian, and I am all about dancing in the Spirit. But for me, it was a bit too much repitition. I listen to groups like Isreal, and they make all the songs sound different. They don't scream the same way in ever song, thats not unique. Gospel goes classic, people are expecting some nice music.
That being said, all the other musicans were outstanding. Everything was perfect except for the screaming, and Juanita's songs sounding the same to me.

I play this CD 3-4 times a week. It truly blesses me. This is one of my all time best.
powerful.......2007-05-12
this is a powerful CD. It literally ushers in God's presence right there where you are. It is ANOINTED!!! i love her. Juanita has taken my worship to a new level. When i have trouble praying/worshipping, i listen to her. She is a true blessing. She will move you to tears. The anointing literally moves out of the CD into your room. More than worth every penny
Andrea Scott.......2007-04-19
I listen to a lot of gospel music, but this cd has no comparison. I am so overwhelmed and totally reduced to tears. I have never been as moved as I have with A Piece Of My Passion. It literally takes you to the 3rd heaven to the very presence of God. This is not entertainment-this is intense total praise and worship. I simply can't get enough of it!! It is a necessity for the true praise and worshipper-it will change your usual praise and worship.
Powerful.......2007-04-19
The annointing on the CD is so powerful. This CD has it all: encouragement for tough times, music to usher you into God's presence, high praise, and on. I am so happy that Juanita is allowing God to use her to touch people through her music and ministry. God bless you Juanita.

Customer Reviews:
The greatest songs ever?.......2007-07-26
I heard 'clear or cloudy', from this recording, on the radio recently and had to purchase it. It is strange but it is the sort of song that makes life prior to listening to it different from life after. I find it sad that so many people haven't heard it. There are also many other wonderful works in this collection. Given you get twelve well recorded CDs with top quality performances, this has to be one of the bargains of the age.
Please buy it.
A musical treasure-box.......2006-09-10
Both the music and this actual product are masterpieces. John Dowland's collected works here - covering 12 compact discs - exhibit the depth and power of this composer, a composer who many now regard as suffering from clinical depression. I doubt that the issue of the diagnosis of Dowland's depression can ever be settled, however, it is certainly obvious from his music, so completely on display here, that he was a man with very dark depths and corners in his mind. Dowland's various manifestations and "takes" on his own tune, "Flow my tears"/"Lachrimae" are here. This tune has haunted me ever since I first heard it when I was a child. It seems to sum up Dowland's feelings - at least Dowland seems to have thought so.
The First, Second, Third and Fourth Bookes of Songes, A Musicall Banquet, the keyboard transcriptions, all the lute music, consort music are here and virtually everything else written or supposedly written by John Dowland. Anthony Rooley and The Consort of Musicke perform this music with style and feeling throughout. This 12 CD set is something of a monument to the ensemble - I only wish they'd finished their collection of Monteverdi madrigals, which was equally good (La Venexiana are currently doing a magnificent job of recording all Monteverdi's books of madrigals for the GLOSSA label).
This is an expensive set, however, you will probably never need to buy another John Dowland CD again after buying and listening to this collection.
I bought this CD set on a mild Summer evening of 1998 and listened to it while sitting in my sun room - which a glorious orange sunset in progress, and a glass of wine. It brought back so many memories.
a beautiful journey into melancholy.......2001-06-15
I'm amazed at how many people tend to associate John Dowland's music with a tragic sense of drama. While no doubt this is art highly based on sadness, the "tragic" sense of it is more a legacy from the Romantic period. During the Renaissance, however, sadness was undestood as a very aesthetic way of approaching life. That is also the reason why Shakespeare's tragedies appear more sophisticated than his comedies.
Dowland, a contemporary of Shakespeare, discovered that meditating on a sad theme is, at the same time, a way of discovering a special beauty that we tend to avoid (maybe because of the "tragic" heritage of the Romantics). So, in the end, meditating on sadness is an uplifting experience! This box set is a journey into melancholy that includes songs, chamber music, pieces for lute, some rare sacred music and -as a highlight- Dowland's beautiful collection of seven pieces for viola which he called "Lachrimae" (Tears).

We Just Disagree.......2007-04-10
This has been my favorite Dave Mason album since it came out in the '70's.
Dave Mason.......2006-08-09
Great CD even got Dave to sign it at a recent show of his.
Letting it flow.......2006-07-26
I am not familiar with a lot of Dave Mason's solo work, although I have been a huge Traffic fan for years. I am slowly picking up some of his stuff.
Let It Flow is definitely chock full of the typical '70s adult contemporary influence and is also mixed with a bit of the nascent disco sound. What results is a fine, if dated, release that serves well to capture the brilliance of Dave's songwriting and guitar skills.
"We Just Disagree" is the big hit from this album, but there aren't any duds. Another reviewer pointed out "Takin' The Time To Find", which is indeed a great tune with some fantastic guitar work. Other good tracks include "Let It Go, Let It Flow" and "So High".
If you're a Dave Mason fan or fan of this genre, you will enjoy Let It Flow although there are probably better Dave Mason albums to start with if you haven't heard them already, such as Alone Together. The only downside to this album in my mind are the string arrangements that I feel detract from Mason's strengths.
That iPod! makes it accessible.......2006-05-03
I have revisited this album after many years of unintentional neglect.
Actually, I believed I had this title in my extensive CD collection and wrongfully thinking when I ripped Dave Mason's, "Greatest Hits" CD onto my huge gigabyte drive I thought that the tunes, "Then It's Alright," "Mystic Traveler," "Seasons," "What Do We Got Here," all of the songs onto the "Let It Flow" assemblage were included in this compilation. They were not.
The CD, "Let It Flow" could have been termed his greatest hits, all songs are outstanding.
So, I went out hurriedly, snapped up this album and ripped it to my iPod. Now I am happy.
Thirty years ago when this album came out I was a sprig yet this album is timeless in its musicality and lyrical content. By the way the tune, "Then It's Alright" could be an anthem for today's malaise onto the political scene--the corruption and stupidity infused..."don't matter which way He surely will pay the price cause your isolation Could weaken a nation So take someone's hand and together we'll stand...."
But is it alright? I don't think so but "We Just Disagree."
Not mason's best, but for adequate for an initial exploration.......2005-10-06
Dave Mason has always enjoyed an uncomfortable position between a triangular comparison of Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, and Jimmy Buffett. This album features his only major hit, "We Just Disagree," also covered by Dylan but both words and music were written by Jim Kruger in 1976. The overproduction and counterpoint guitar chimes are a departure from most of Mason's other works, for Mason is first and foremost a singer songwriter and is better suited to presenting his own material honestly. Still, and artist has to eat, and so mason needed a hit to stay on the payroll. I encourage folks to listen past this album and explore Masons other works. Much of his oeuvre is dated, yet his body of work is negligently overlooked. This album is a fine starting point, but don't end here.

Customer Reviews:
another winner from Naxos.......2007-02-21
This is another winning compilation from Naxos. My only comment is to provide a heads-up regarding the track list in the booklet. CD 1 puts the Leonin "Viderunt Omnes" on six tracks, while the booklet leaves room for only one. Thus, add five to booklet tracks five through 21 for CD1 to get them to match. (I.e., where the booklet says tracks 15 and 16 are two versions of Josquin's "El Grillo," your CD player will show them to be tracks 20 and 21.) With luck this will be corrected in later printings.
Also, I would have liked the booklet to include the words, but perhaps that is an inducement to get particular CDs from Naxos.
As for the music itself--breadth of selection, musicianship, sound quality, all are excellent. A great collection!
awesome value -- 5+ stars.......2006-07-15
I'm really enthusiastic about these CDs and booklet. I've had it for a few weeks now, in which I've explored Medieval and Renaissance music much more deeply than this little book and CD set. Yet I'm very glad I started with these.
The selection of composers gives an excellent, broad sweep across several centuries.
But the booklet contains one of the most informative essays I've found about early music, and I've spent a few dozen dollars buying books. If the booklet were separated from the CDs, it alone would be worth more than $10.
In short, if you're interested in exploring early music, this really is one of the best places to start; the best place that I know of. I'm sure, at any rate, that you can't beat the value.

On Flow, Jon Jenkins trades in the orchestral synthesizer bombast of his Continuum album for more austere and restrained ambiences. Floating somewhere between the quiet lyricism of Harold Budd and the expansive spacescapes of Steve Roach's Structures from Silence, Jenkins's melodies hover just at the edges, drawing you closer, asking you to listen more deeply. "Into a World of Wonder" and the minimally epic "The Power/Washed Away" pulse with vaguely Native American rhythms and the album's most potent melodies. "Night Drifting Through a Black Canyon" explores pure melodic ambience with Jenkins's own thready theme working through electric guitar textures from Jeff Pearce, while "Part of the Solution" is a sultry, detailed excursion of morphing sound design. Jenkins works with a self-limited, yet lush palette to create melodies that float on the wind and atmospheres that hang like Spanish moss. Flow remains the most underrated album from the Spotted Peccary label. --John Diliberto
Album Description
Delving deep into the viscosity of life, Jon Jenkins masterfully engages the metaphor of water to ponder the fabric of existence with his powerful second release. Delicately crafted and sculpted soundscapes of sublime keyboard textures combine with the ambient electric guitars of Jeff Pearce, David Helpling, and Howard Givens, which along with occasional percussion create moments of subtlety and power that suggest the very process of life from beginning to end, like the flow of water from the spring to the sea. This is a profound listening experience that is dramatic, introspective, and ultimately inescapable.

it reall flows........2006-01-20
This CD has been on my wish list for more than a year. I finally decided to buy it. Glad I did. Within the first 2 tracks, I found myself uttering 'this is beautiful'. The 'Flow' really flows. All tracks feel as one masterpiece. The sounds are dark yet warm and engaging, not as what you'd usually get with dark tracks that are detached and cold. The low vibrations are a joy to my ears. This is rather unique with its own style. I would definitely recommend having it in your ambient collection.
Bridges genres.......2004-11-28
The perfect blend between the best of Robert Rich's tribal works and the new age classics of Patrick O'Hearn. Flow is a little too ambient to be called New Age, and a little too New Age to be pure ambient. Wisps of melody waft over light percussion, and create an atmosphere conducive to meditation, sleep, or study. If you are looking to get into ambient music, this is the type of work that can ease you into the genre. Highly reccommended.
This is a great CD........2002-01-02
I think this is a great CD, right up there with many of Steve Roach's soundworlds. It is very well done and stands up to many repeat playings while maintaining its excitment. The Cd is very trance producing and interesting.
Still looking for a more impressive soundscape.......2000-10-31
This is certainly one of the best ambient compilations ever made. Jenkin's style is separated from other ambient artists. It's not really like Roach's or Rich's music that become a little monotone half-way through the CD (though sometimes this is the effect being sought), it's a much more moving experience. Though my tastes tend to lean toward the dark ambient and minimalistic genre, I appreciate Jenkin's synthesis between dark ambience and more the active soundscapes such as in tracks 6 and 10. The play in the deeper tonalities (the use of bass) provide a deliciously dark and aural sensation as the CD progresses. I cant believe that this hasnt become one of the most popular in the ambient realm. I wouldnt buy another CD until you have this one.
Buy This One.......2000-08-02
I bought this album on a whim. I've had it for about two months and it has become one of my favorites. It is not passive ambient sounds. It is engaging and moving. About two weeks ago, I took the top off my car and drive thru the desert and listened to this album. The experience was so awesome that I cancelled all my appointments and turned around and drove back thru the desert listening to this album. It cost me some major bucks-but hey, it was worth every penny and you only go around once, so enjoy. Get this album.

Flow is trumpet player Terence Blanchard's second album for Blue Note. Over the years Blue Note's recorded some of the best trumpeters the world has ever known; from Miles Davis and Lee Morgan to Freddie Hubbard and Don Cherry. Terence Blanchard manages to successfully draw on the label's rich history, moving with ease from a ballad like "Over There" to the organic build and insistent propulsion of the album's longest track, "Harvesting Dance." He embraces melodic precision, but always in accord with a resonant emotional foundation. Producer Herbie Hancock is a perfect fit for this project, bridging the traditional realms of post-bop and modernist inclinations. --David Greenberger
Album Description
Produced by the artist and four-time Grammy winner Herbie Hancock, Flow heralds nothing less than the brilliant second act of Blanchard's already extraordinary career. Flow is TB's rambunctiously heated answer to those unenlightened few who doubted that this chill master of the urbane film score (Mo' Better Blues, Malcolm X, Barbershop) could get down. Indeed, Flow not only showcases Blanchard's prodigious instrumental and composing skills; it reveals him to be both a shrewd judge of young talent and a bandleader of Milesian dimension and magnitude as well.

Terence & Blue Note: A Match made in Heaven.......2007-07-26
Terence Blanchard is an artist that I have always been drawn to. From first hearing him on Music From Mo' Better Blues (1990 Film), then on the score of Sugar Hill (1994) to his other film score likeTerence Blanchard's Original Orchestral Score From The Motion Picture Clockers, he has a wide and varied career. This, his second CD for the famous Blue Note label, is a jazz musical adventure. Produced by the great Herbie Hancock, things kick off with Flow ( Part 1), which is a sparse piece, with a haunting baseline, that has Terence meandering in & out of this song. Haunting. Wadagbe (intro) precedes the same full length tune that has African sounding vocals introducing this, before Terence comes in and takes control.
'Benny's Tune' is an altogether different track, which is softer in tone, with very subtle vocals. Very smoothing, and relaxing. Wandering Wonder is a Blanchard composition, that sounds like work he has done on Romantic Defiance, a busy jazz song, with piano drums, and of course trumpet in effect. Flow (Part 2), continues where part one left off (I like how, like his soundtracks, particularly Inside Man (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) he has a familiar song that reappears throughout the CD.
Other highlights include' The Source' 'Over There, ( which sounds like it should be in When the Levees Broke. Melancholy. Flow part 3. and my favorite cut, Harvesting Dance. This isn't my favorite Terence CD, that honor goes to The Heart Speaks, but this is a varied Blanchard release.
Great Trumpeter.......2007-06-24
Anyone who is a fan of Terence will love this cd. It such a great cd which some songs are in high tempo and some just straight smooth.
Wonderful and unique sound.......2006-03-08
As the title says, this CD is an excellent show of pure musical talent. This collection of songs is so full of emotional experiences that it's hard to realize that you're not actually at a live performance. I've seen the Terrance Blanchard Sextet live before, and this CD is just as active as their performance. Wonderful.
Fantastic NEW album.......2006-01-07
Amid the cries of "jazz is dead" that have plagued the past twenty years, the cats who know what's up have been following the insurgency of different influences in the music with a keen ear for that which might be called "fresh." In the last few years, the "jazz/hip-hop" thang has been done, notably by Roy Hargrove, but hell, on the other side of the spectrum, US3 dropped Hand On the Torch in 1993. Anyway, Flow is following directly in the modern tradition, infusing modern influences in a medium at risk of growing old in order to breathe new life into said medium. Since Dizzy wrote Manteca, and probably before, jazzers have been deliberately looking outside their own areas for new ideas. Coltrane did it, as did Getz, and now we've got Joe Lovano playing gongs to establish pedal points, and guys like Avishai Cohen or Dave Holland following the tradition of "serious music" by writing more in depth compositions, even for for smaller bands. The new crop of artists is taking the ideal of more complex compositions or more structured free jazz (check out the SF Jazz Collective) and throwing electronic instruments on it. It's only natural, as jazzers realized years ago that with a drum loop, a synth and a computer, you can take your horn to Europe and play dance clubs for ten times what you'd get for a jazz gig here in the US. Guys are taking that relationship and reversing it, adding electronica to the jazz. As far as just busting out the wild electronic sounds, this has been done since Bitches Brew dropped, Chick Corea had the Electric Band, or we had Weather Report or any of the old bands with amps. I don't see why people are objecting to it's occurence here. Younger cats like Hiromi (Uehara) and Christian Scott are writing new music in this vein to great effect. Terence Blanchard has been around the block a few times. He knows how to write and arrange. So if you are looking for some fresh music that follows the NEW tradition in superb form, buy this album.
