Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Day Late, Dollar Short.......2007-02-02

Funny, how all the reviews say it is hard to find. I actually interned at Atlantic in '93 and they gave this disc. I loved it. I haven't heard it since; but, to this day, I can remember the melodies to "Easy Street," and the groove to "Rock & Roll Away." So, that shows you what sort of hooks this disc had. It's been about 15 years and I can clearly hear these hooks in my mind. Why didn't click with the public? I don't know. I remember thinking, as I was listening to this at Atlantic, this was going to be as big as Bon Jovi's "Slippery When Wet" and Def Leppard's "Hysteria." I believe it was in that level. Unfortuantely, it may have been a day late and a dollar short. In my humble opinion it may have been the best mid-'80s "glam" rock disc in the "grunged-out" '90s.

3 out of 5 stars Not the best example of TNT's power.......2006-06-07

I won't call Realized Fantasies TNT's worst album, because I don't think any TNT album could be defined that way. However, I would say it's the band's least impressive release.

Released in 1992, just as interest in this type of music was declining, Realized Fantasies didn't seem to have the power and drive as the band's earlier releases. Tony Harnell's unique voice was still quite strong, as was Ronnie Le Tekro's guitar work. The album was unfocused and embraced too many of the clichés associated with the hair metal genre. It is a decent album, but it just can't compare to early albums like Tell No Tales or Intuition, or later albums line My Religion and All the Way to the Sun. It pales in comparison to Tony Harnell's work with Westworld and Starbreaker as well.

Realized Fantasies is an album worth owning if you're a serious TNT fan, but if you're unfamiliar with the band there are much better discs to start with.

4 out of 5 stars PURPLE MOUNTAINS MAJESTY.......2005-12-01

If you buy this disc you will be totally shocked by the production, the voice of Tony Harnell (of course) and, well, the songs. If there is one song that should be played on the radio it is "Purple Mountains Majesty". The guitar solo is unbelievable. Worth the price for this song alone. Oh, btw, the rest of the disc is pretty darn good, too.

5 out of 5 stars Overlooked, Underrated TNT album.......2004-11-12

Among all the great TNT albums we've come to know, perhaps Realized Fantasies is one of the most overlooked. This album came out in the early 90's, and after Tell No Tales, and Intuition. This album is still TNT to their roots, with excellent songs. The sound can be described as a mix between two of their albums, their '89 release Intuition, and '99 release Transistor. The opening track "Downhill Racer" is an awesome song with hard hitting basslines from Morty Black, Ronnie Le Tekro's famous cuts and riffs, and the unmistakeable voice of Tony Harnell. The whole album is packed with both heavy hitters and of course the great ballads TNT is famous for. Unfortunately for TNT fans old and new, Realized Fantasies is getting to be a hard-to-find album. But truly a great TNT album. And worth the buy, whether it be cd, cassette, or LP!

5 out of 5 stars man, does this rock!!!.......2004-08-28

I know that this is one of the hardest cds to find, but it is TNT's best by far and I like some of the other stuff as well. This record came out in 93' so it go almost no attention at all doue to the rise of some of the worst music to be popularized since disco. Some of the guitar playing here is as pure as a virgin on prom night. It is just so crisp! I really hope that someday someone will realize how good this is. As far as the songs, the first 3 are stright ahead rockers with unreal guitar riffs. it slows down with an A+ ballad about a drunken mans tales of greatness, when he is just a drunk man...great song! From there is may get a bit more like the 80's TNT, but with better songs. Easy Street is the best song on the record. It would have been a hugh hit if it ever saw the light of day. If I had to put finger on the whole effort I'd say it is Queensryche Meets Kix, Meets, Van Halen in the late 70's. 11 years later and I still love it the same.
