Everything Ozzy Osbourne touches turns to gold--or platinum! And this compilation of bands from the Black Sabbath frontman's highly successful annual Ozzfest touring package looks to be no exception. Some of the acts included in this 16-song live disc are already major-leaguers, including Sabbath, who kick off the CD with a strong version of their classic, "The Wizard." The nu-metal likes of Slipknot, Disturbed, Linkin Park, and Papa Roach turn in solid performances, with Papa Roach's rendition of "Blood Brothers" the most raw performance of the lot. Marilyn Manson serves up a worthy version of their great "Love Song," and in keeping with Ozzfest's reputation for breaking new bands, there are strong entries from Drowning Pool (the unstoppable "Bodies," one of the best offerings here), Union Underground, teen glam-punks Pure Rubbish, and Nonpoint. With this release, Ozzfest reaffirms its position as one of the most consistently excellent summer touring packages. --Katherine Turman

Ozzfest relived.......2006-07-06
YES, this is a live album which means that the recordings are NOT studio quality, but that is the point for buying the album, it's to relive the experience of being at the concert....or, if you were not there (like I) then it's to get the experience for the first time. I will admit that a few years back I was not one for live recordings. I just didn't like them. But now I appreciate them for what they are. This album is golden, with deserving tracks from some of Metals greatest bands...Black Sabbath included. Other highlights are Manson's 'Love Song' which is one of my favorite Manson tracks...Oteps 'Fillthe' which is freaking awesome (although I would have rather heard 'Blood Pigs' here since if you want a great live track that would be it)...Papa Roach did awesome with 'Blood Brothers' as did the ever hated Linkin Park (I like them)...Disturbed was brilliant (and then again, 'Fear' is one of my favorite Disturbed songs so it couldn't go wrong). Nonpoint and Drowning Pool did fine (Nonpoint slightly surpassing the later) and Slipknot dressed to impress, but it was the likes of Union Underground, American Head Charge and the very stylistic Mudvayne that really blew me away. All in all this is an awesome CD with killer cuts from pretty much everyone involved!
What are you on about?.......2004-04-16
An o.k cd, Marilyn Manson was the best as well as linkin park, he was not rubbish, and as for you, a costomer, are you 5? It's not cool to swear or curse but to go and complain about it is a bit stupid! Buying clean versions of cds spoils them, they end up sounding like theres a problem with the cd. Thats just my oppinion and if you are reading this you probably want to kill me! Oh well. A good mix of songs, i hope next year is as good or better.
Ozzfest ROCKS! ...That's if you were at the concert........2004-01-06
I bought this used...and I didn't like it. The recording of Marilyn Manson was degrading to his previous works because it sounded horrible. I've even heard Slipknot's New Abortion on the production CD, and the live version isn't all that good. I was expecting more for this CD. Next year, I hope they get better equipment and get better performers (no offense to about half that were good).
Impressive...........2003-07-07
Well, for a live cd, this was excellent. I usually do not buy live cds, because the quality usually [is bad], but i did not realize that it was a live cd when i bought it, and it was impressive. it captures the feel of ozzfest on cd, as best as it can be captured.
bad metal show.......2003-07-07
This is bad. All the metal bands sound like one, and the same band. Black Sabbath's "The Wizard" is the song on the album. I
think number two is Marilyn Manson's "The love song". The rest
is not listenable. I bought it only because I am a fan of Black
Sabbath and Marilyn Manson.
