Chucky's back in late-'90s horror-camp style, and he's got the music to match. This mildly fun and at times surprisingly solid metalfest soundtrack features a new track by Slayer ("Human Disease"), which should be a must for fans of the group. There are a couple of other new songs by the lesser Coal Chamber and Powerman 5000, but engaging, previously released tracks by Monster Magnet ("See You in Hell") and Stabbing Westward ("So Wrong") are nice additions. However, questionable new tracks by Judas Priest, Motörhead, and Bruce Dickinson drag the cred factor down a bit. --Aaron Tassano

3 out of 5 stars Not everything is good on here........2007-04-07

This is a pretty good soundtrack but one problem not all these bands are cool for me let's see.

1. Boogie King - The Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies/ never heard em but I guess their ok.
2. Thunder Kiss '65 - White Zombie/ Me and chucky's most favorite band.
3. Blisters - Coal Chamber/ Gimme a break these guys couldn't even play good to save their own lives.
4. See You in Hell - Monster Magnet/ One of my favorite songs from this band.
5. Blood Stained - Judas Priest/ One of judas priests heaviest song.
6. Love You to Death - Type O Negative/ Don't know about this one.
7. Human Disease - Slayer/ Slayers pretty cool but I like their 80's image better.
8. So Wrong - Stabbing Westward/ Ok
9. Son of X-51 - Powerman 5000/ I lost interest in these guys.
10. Trumpets of Jericho - Bruce Dickinson/ I guess bruce was better not doing solos.
11. Bled for Days - Static-X/ Mediocre.
12. Love for Sale - Motorhead/ True gods of metal
13. Crazy - Kidneythieves/ Horrible covered song from willie nelson and a sucky band.
14. We Belong Dead - Graeme Revell/ A waste of good space on this cd.

So there you have it not all songs from a sound track can be all good. Most will have your favorites and some will suck think about that when your buying a sound track.

3 out of 5 stars Not really my kinda music.......2006-01-15

So why did I buy it then? Simply because during watching the absolutely brilliant film, one song stuck out. The fabulous version of Patsy Cline's "Crazy", by the Kidney Thieves, which was already a cover. This is a classic song, and the Kidney Thieves manage to put a new spin on it, with a husky voiced female, and a slow beginning, then it becomes really rocky towards the middle. This has always been a favourite song of mine, but now it's even better, so I've been playing it almost constantly. It really matches my mood at the moment too, and the lyrics are so appropriate for me right now. Just watch out when you play it, don't turn it up too loud to hear the beginning, cos believe me you'll be racing to turn it down when it hits the rocky middle.

The rest of the music, is so not my kinda thing. For heavens sake, Motorhead are the music my dad actually likes. This soundtrack really isn't for a pop music fan (moi), but then it was never meant to be!

4 out of 5 stars "we belong dead".......2005-04-01

i'd give this a 4 and a half coz this soundtrack is pretty except for 3 tracks that aren't just kinda make you question why they're on here(screamin' cheetan wheelies, judas priest and bruce dickinson). it's prolly a known fact that you can now buy every single track on this soundtrack on something that artist released themselves but what is worth noting is some of more interesting tracks.

this is only soundtrack where you can get the first version of "son of x51" by powerman 5000. now i say first version coz this came out before "tonight the stars revolt". this version is pretty much the same but does not contain vocal bit at the beginning of their album version. also, this is where you can also get the first version of "crazy" (a cover of a song that patsy cline did but which is in itself a cover of a song that willie nelson wrote & performed first) by the kidneythieves. this version is a bit different from the one that appeared on "zerospace" but is essentially the same. also, you can only get that grame revell song here too.

also...contary to what the back of the case says...the songs "human disease" and "blisters" do appear in the movie. "blisters" can be heard during the part where they're getting food...it's low but its in the background, also "human disease" is playing during the credits. the songs that don't appear are "love you to death" and "love for sale".

3 out of 5 stars I own this, buuuuut.............2005-01-07

it's not one of my favorites. This is only okay to listen to once in a long while:
1. Alright.
2. Possibly the best song.
3. I heard better.
4. Okay.
5. Not Judas Priest's best.
6. Boooorrriinnnggg.
7. Slayer sucks after 1988.
8. The start is cool but the rest sucks.
9. Powerman 5000 exaggerates.
10. It's kind of lame.
11. "So Real" is a whole lot better than this.
12. I only listened to it once to this day.
13. Damn Patsy Cline Wannabes!
14. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

It's a lot worse than expected it to be. It could only be a millimeter more of a crappy song and I would give it 2 well deserved stars. But I can only give it 3 stars because of a couple of good songs on this entire cd.

5 out of 5 stars "Music has really gone to hell since I've been dead.".......2004-11-22

Now this is a soundtrack! Regardless if you liked the movie itself or not, there is much enjoyment to had here. I have owned the movie for quite some time, and I was always curious about the soundtrack, since the music in the movie was great, but I never bought it. Then it was almost impossible to find. So as soon as I discovered it (after a couple of years), I instantly purchased it, and it made me depressed. Why? 'Cause it rocks! I wish I would've gotten it sooner! This is a great compilation of rock songs that will remind fans of scenes in the movie, and will bless the ears of newcomers. Fans of rock in general, take note! A great mixture of old-school and current artists, with highlights including Type-O-Negative's "Love You to Death", kidneythieves' "Crazy", and "Trumpets of Jericho" by Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden!).
