4 out of 5 stars "Like a lucid dream alive, a mystery".......2006-12-08

4.5 stars. After their solid debut album "Infinity Divine" Pagan's Mind blow-up with a more Progressive album in "Celestial Entrance." With influences from 1970s Prog-rock bands like Kansas, Yes, and even a splash of Blue Oyster Cult mixed with peak-era Queensryche they have come up with a release that demands repeat visitations. While this album hasn't the immediate nor the lasting effect of their third album "Enigmatic:Calling" it is nonetheless a necessary album for fans. The Progressive elements sometimes dominate the songs leaving the listener exhausted. Patience is frequently required to fully appreciate each and every song. The only song that has an immediate impact is "Dreamscape Lucidity" with a superb lead guitar riff that demands repeat attention. Though there are many excellent sections during each of the songs this album it is slightly less cohesive than "Enigmatic:Calling." I would recommend "Celestial Entrance" as a second purchase over that release though I heartily recommend picking up both for fans of either album. "Celestial Entrance" takes much more time to appreciate as it is decidedly more Progressive though it is ceaselessly interesting to behold. Recommended.

5 out of 5 stars If I could give it 10 stars...........2006-11-17

This is a serious, serious piece of musical work ONLY for those with musical tastes that allow for unbridled power, gorgeous lyrics, melodic depth, rhythmic power AND sensitivity....really classy in the best sense of the word, but this stuff kicks butt all over the universe...as attested to by their worldly/otherworldly lyrics. Don't buy this if you want some deadpan 3 chord metal tripe. Pagan's Mind is an unstoppable musical force...I can listen to this CD repeatedly while working and then get up and air-guitar half of it, then go back to work...never tired of the intelligent soloes, insistent kick-drumming and the soaring vocals....now if they'd only tour within 50 miles of Boston, heaven will truly have come to Earth.

Buy this....just buy it!.....Buy this CD!.......did I say, "buy it"???......buy the CD....purchase this CD!......ok, now go buy it. (long pause) What did I just say? : |

Music does not get any better than this. Extremely intelligent lyrics. 'Nuff said.

5 out of 5 stars My Introduction to PM!.......2006-05-18

I first heard of Pagan's Mind while surfing on johnpetrucci.com's members forums. People were raving about them, so I went out on Bit Torrent and found CE. Man what an amazing CD. I immediatly purchased the CD the next day and it has been one of my top 10 favorites (the other 2 PM albums are in my Top 10 also.) The initial track is awesome. I love how it just roars into "Through Osiris Eyes". TOE also has one of the best Prog Metal solo's of all time. It isn't over powering, but its very melodic and beautiful in it's approach. Another CD I can listen from start to finish. Once again, don't let the Vox distract you from the brilliance of Pagan's Mind. Nils K Rue's voice will grow on you, and it compliments the music well. 5/5 Must have!!!!
