2 out of 5 stars disappointment.......2006-10-02

Do you remember how great Conscious Party was when it came out? It was such a fun record and like Paul Simon's Graceland, whatever Ladysmith Black Mambazo album came out around then, it helped bring sounds that didn't originate in North America or Europe into pop music. Even Ziggy's last album "Dragonfly" was great. I'm not sure what happened to him recently, but this one is just lame. All that happy fun is gone and the songs are not as interesting as his older albums. This one is really just for the fans who have to have everything. If you are just getting into him or newer reggae in general, you should get Conscious Party, Dragonfly or even his Greatest Hits. Still, Ziggy is a great artist and his music is worth a lot of respect. Hopefully, Zig gets his act together and his next one is as good as this one should have been.

2 out of 5 stars Not so good one........2002-04-20

I don't think this song is as much good as songs like "The flowers of Guatemala", "Fall on me", "Orange crush", etc. There is no good melody in it.

5 out of 5 stars A beutiful tune by "R.E.M.".......2001-08-23

One of the only R.E.M. songs I actually like besides "Stand". Anyways this is truely a beautiful and breathtaking song. A genuine peice of work. I know a song is good when it posesses the power to make you cry, well that was also with the help of the video... Anywho. Its a GREAT song, but not everyone likes everything so you may hate it!! Though I love it, but I urge you to take a listen, listen to it at least three times and if it doesn't grow on you then, well I pity you!!(I suggest buying this single great buy!!)

God Bless ~Amy

5 out of 5 stars R.E.M.'s Biggest Hit.......2001-05-16

"Losing My Religion" is R.E.M.'s biggest hit, peaking at number 4 in 1991. Despite its high chart status, the song is not your typical top 40 hit. The song is driven by Peter Buck's twangy mandolin and Michael Stipe's introspective lyrics. The song is a true testament to R.E.M.'s ability to reach mass audiences while maintaining their credibility. "Shiny Happy People" was also a top ten hit and while many hardcore R.E.M. fans are dismissive of it, the song has a fun, bouncy quality that shows the band has an ability to cut loose and have some fun.

5 out of 5 stars ...to the video as well!.......2001-05-14

This song reminds me my sad times and it cheers me up. It's great to hear when you are down. Well this is it... i need to go, so buy this song and remember "Losing My Religion" is the best song you will ever hear... I assure you!

5 out of 5 stars tommo roxx.......2006-09-17

always one of the bands most deserving of greater worldwide success and recognition, norway"s tnt are up with the great melodic hard rock to come from the 80s./much in the same vein as the bon jovi/def lep/europe ballpark.the band have had many consistently great albums lead by amazing lead singer tony harnell, who"s high pitched vocals are always crystal clear and packed with much emotion.the you have 6 string extraordinaire ronni le tekro who gives even ed van halen a run for his money at times.this cd is a return to the 80s tnt sound, after 2 more experimental albums in the 90s,which are good quality cds in themselves, but recieved mixed responses from both fans and critics.my religoun ccontains all the geat ingrediants that made those memorable 80s albums with a awesome strong modern production.all songs pack a real hard punch with uplifting hooks and riffs.always catchy choruses and blow away solos, kept short and sweet.outstanding songs would be she needs me,lonely nights and the touching ballad perfectly.highly recommended to fans of brilliant feel good hard rock.

5 out of 5 stars wow.......2006-02-19

When I first heard about this album I wondered why I had never heard of the band before. After listening to it, I was even more amazed that I had never heard of them. How they slipped through the cracks and never gained much recognition, I have no idea. I agree with one of the reviews before me, that Perfectly is an amazing song. I would probably rate it somewhere in my top fifty rock songs. I will definitely be buying more of their albums, and I would advise anyone else who isn't too familiar with this band to get this CD; it is a very good starting place.

5 out of 5 stars Best yet???.......2005-05-29

I bought this album based solely on the reviews on this site. Most of the reviews gave this album some incredible marks so I had high expectations going into my 1st audition. Usually when I have high expectations, I am easily disapointed in the final result, but not this time. While not the biggest TNT fan, I have both Intuition and Tell No Tales and thought very highly of both albums. This release blew me away. I think I can honestly say that I dug every track on it. I've always thought that Tony Harnell had an incredible voice, but must admit that at times, his voice would eventually grate on my nerves hitting high note after high note. Well, it appears that he has been able to tone it down a notch on this album and the results are just what I needed. Ronnie's ability on the guitar have always been technically awesome, but he seam's to have had the reins released here. In closing, I've never heard an album in which I liked every song on it. There was always a track or 2 that left me saying "they must be filling space here". Not here. I can easily say that I loved every song on it. If you've never heard of TNT before, but enjoy great melodic rock from the 80's, you owe it to yourself to pick up this title. You won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars It Rocks!!!.......2005-03-07

When you'll listen to "Perfectly" (song # 7) you will thang God you bought this album. It's worth the price alone....BUY THIS! Vocalist Tony Harnell is unbelievable!

5 out of 5 stars Super Melodic Rock.......2005-02-22

I have been a TNT fan for as long as I can remember and have their entire library. This is by far their best production since Tell No Tales. I was very disaapointed with Firefly and Transistor, so I was hesitant about buying this cd. One listen, and I was blown away. Tony Harnell has never sounded better and still has dynamic vocal range. This cd has it all -- superior vocals, harmonies, melodies, edge, grit, pounding bass, firey guitar and thunderous drums. I LOVE THIS CD -- BUY IT NOW!

5 out of 5 stars a voice teacher and early music fan.......2006-09-22

The following quote is a good way to introduce this album; it is from the poem "The Singer" by Eva A. Jessye. "Because of ebon skin and humble pride,The world with hatred thrust the youth aside.....And through our grief we rise to nobler things....A well of sweetness there unbidden springs." This disc portrays the talents of two wonderful musicians: Moses Hogan, excellent pianist, creator of exciting arrangements of spirituals both for solo voice and choirs AND that countertenor
Derek Ragin with his truly lovely voice capable of great vocal technique and versatility. He has appeared in several operas; two with Michael Chance that are wondrous to listen to: Tamerlano and Agippina. Spiritual are not my favorite thing, but there are some ear-catching beauties on this one;namely:"Ole Time Religion" and "Give Me Jesus". Some others are: 'Steal Away'-'Little David Play on your Harp'-'This Little Light of Mine' and many more. Some are a cappela, some accompanied by the piano, and some by piano with choir back-up. You do not have to be a lover of spirituals to enjoy this disc. But if you are, you will be in heaven!!!!!!

4 out of 5 stars I Feel the Spirit Too.......2006-08-17

Very beautiful voice, sometimes I forget that the soloist voice is that of a male singer. Would like to hear more of Moses Hogan on keyboard and his arrangements.

5 out of 5 stars just excellent.......1999-06-30

Although I do not like spirituals too much, it is a must listening to this fantastic countertenor singing with Moses Hogan. For me, Derek Lee Ragin has such a brilliant voice, I never heard before in my life.

5 out of 5 stars Saw the Moses Hogan chorale live in NYC and loved them!.......1998-10-16

Truly great spirituals, truly brilliant arrangements by Moses Hogan. I can't wait to collect all his CDs.

4 out of 5 stars Eric Culberson is good!! No question. Great Guitarist!!.......2003-04-18

This is Eric's first CD, I think so anyway, and I like it because it's sort of a souveneir of his live performances,
plus I bought it from him in person after a show. This guy
has mad skills on the pine, and he doesn't play games when it
comes to being true to the music he loves, blues. I'm honored to have been able to hear him play in Crossroads blues club, and
I'm chomping at the bit to see him at his own club, Savannah Blues.
I would say his style is Chicago, straight up, when he's in the zone, but, he can adapt to just about anything that's thrown at him. He also plays some kick [butt] Texas blues ala... Freddy King, Albert Collins, and Albert King. Entertaining, always! Scary at best! WoooooooWeeeeeee. Makes me wanna scream! I love the guy and am looking forward to future releases. My favorite track on Blues is My Religion is Morning Light. Beautiful little melodies inside the main grooves make it a treat for a fellow guitarist. No Rules to the Game is better. The track Savannah Swing is legendary. Wow, tasty. Eric's got what it takes. No question.

5 out of 5 stars Don't Miss This! If You Can Find It, Grab It!.......2002-03-06

It looks like the blues is alive and well in Savannah Georgia. While other young blues guitarists around the country seem intent on speed licks, Culberson combines tasteful licks with intelligently written and well sung vocals. From the opening "Blues Is My Religion" to the closing "Wrapped In Love Again", it's power blues with a feeling. I don't know how something this good gets buried for 5 years. No doubt about it, King Snake has a winner in this release.

4 out of 5 stars This CD does not compare to his live performance........1999-07-17

I have been going to see Eric for at least five years now, and I have enjoyed every show. The band that he plays live with blows away the CD studio guys. You have got to check out his drummer. He is a powerful driving force. I am waiting for the live CD. If you are in Savannah Georgia you have to see this band. Savannah Blues find it, you won't regret it.

5 out of 5 stars Down home, nitty gritty good stuff.......1999-06-10

I've been listening to blues a long time and no one new performer has impressed me more than Eric Culberson. I caught him live at a festival and a club in Orlando. Stray minded woman, dead cat and other songs show that this musician has dedication and talent. Blues is my Religion really is EC's anthem- I get the feeling from meeting him twice that he is involved with his music 24 hours a day. His fingerwork and riffs are right up there with Knopfler of Dire Straits and Eric Clapton. This cd sits up there with my Buddy Guy and BBKing. Eric may be young and white but his music is genuine blues!

      5 out of 5 stars Powerful.......1999-02-03

An excellent CD. Eric can make the guitar sing. It is powerful and full of emotions! If you get a chance check him out live - Savannah Blues Club

"Animal" is a great song, and the live version of "Pretty Persuasion" is also a classic, but the true value of this CD is the multi-media track of "Losing my Religion" that includes a video of a live performance. The video is small and does not scale well, but is amazingly clear and is great for capturing screen shots for computer desktop. There are great close up shots of the band with limited shots of the crowd which has perplexed many R.E.M. fans in the past. Clearly the band enjoys making music and their enthusiasm is contagious. As with many live tracks, the tempo is higher. I could not, however, get this to play on other media formats and therefore do not expect to see this great gem unless you have a PC.

Rozalla was one of the 1990s' best dance divas. Her voice was powerful and husky, and this single showcases her voice wonderfully.

The mixes are good, but the one that really stands out to me is the Love II Infinity Anthem of Love. This mix has all the qualities of a great house song, and it does Rozalla justice.

It's a real shame this CD isn't available anymore, but there is an opportunity for you to get the Anthem of Love Edit. It's included in the 3-disc set "Everybody Dance Now!: Remixed, Remodeled, and Remade".
