Arriving on the scene in the year 2000, Beautiful Creatures was immediately signed to Warner Brothers Records. Determined to remind the world of what Rock & Roll is really all about, Beautiful Creatures released their self-titled debut album in 2001, featuring the songs "1 A.M." and "Ride" which appear on the movie soundtrack Valentine and at full-length in the movie Rollerball. Also making television show appearances were songs "1 A.M." on Smallville and "Wasted" on The Man Show. The debut Beautiful Creatures album was widely accepted as a commanding voice of how real Rock & Roll should be played.

America finally got its first look at Beautiful Creatures when they filmed a live concert for the HBO's "Reverb". Now on a mission, Beautiful Creatures took their guitar-driven swagger to the masses. They first warmed-up on a short leg of the KISS Reunion Tour. Then they tore-it-up across the country with the OzzFest Tour. Still hungry for more, Beautiful Creatures played out the year on the Rolling Rock Tour before heading overseas for a headlining tour through Japan.

Today, Beautiful Creatures continues to expand their horizons, taking their screaming chords even further into the 21st Century. They have just recently finished recording their sophomore album, "Deuce". "Deuce" promises to prove why Beautiful Creatures holds a powerful presence in today's Rock & Roll.

In a day and age where guitar driven bands such as Jet, Velvet Revolver, and Audioslave rule the airwaves, Beautiful Creatures stand up to the challenge and deliver the complete package.

Released just one month after the Surfer Girl album, Little Deuce Coupe was, incredibly, the band's fourth album in less than a year. Brian Wilson and the band responded by turning in arguably their most consistent effort to date--and a concept album, to boot. Deuce Coupe expanded the band's subject matter to encompass 1963 America's burgeoning love affair with hot rods, surrounding previously released cuts such as the title track, "409," and others with strong new material (much of it cowritten by Wilson and a DJ, Roger Christian). A highpoint: the a cappella James Dean tribute "A Young Man Is Gone" (a reworking of Bobby Troup's beautiful "Their Hearts Were Full of Spring"), a prime example of Wilson's arranging genius and the band's vocal prowess. All Summer Long was notable not only for racheting up the band's standards and essentially bidding farewell to the surf songs that inspired both their name and reputation, but also for going toe-to-toe with one of rock's most explosive phenomena--Beatlemania--and coming away victorious, with the single "I Get Around" soaring to No. 1 in the spring of 1964. Essentially another loose concept record (revolving around the innocent hedonistic pursuits of an idyllic SoCal summer) that takes its cue from the effervescent title track, it also documents Brian's restless creativity pushing the band toward its performing peak. Bonus takes include the superior single take of band staple "Be True to Your School," alternate takes of "Little Honda" and "Don't Back Down," and the slightly salacious outtake "All Dressed Up for School." Both albums have also been sonically burnished via 24-bit digital remastering. --Jerry McCulley

5 out of 5 stars Two of their Best.......2007-07-25

If you are a hardcore Beach Boys fan and love them all the way from their first 45(Surfin on Candix), through all of their albums starting with Surfin Safari to their most recent release, you will see the quantum leaps they made in musical maturity with every album. I personally love them the most when they had their signature "Beach Boys" sound, probably through to "Pet Sound" where their sound markably changed. You saw hints of the changes to come in the couple of albums prior to "Pet Sounds" but it matured into full bloom then. They have always had though no matter what their instrumental style was their trademark vocal arrangements that Brian patterned after the Four Freshman songs he loved. And no one does it better or has come close to although we are seeing vocal groups begin to come back recently. These 2 albums(Little Deuce Coupe & All Summer Long)I think have some of their best signature songs/hits at a time when Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys were really hitting their stride. They have all of the youthful exuberance and energy we love them for, but with some experience and polish that the two previous albums didn't have. They are in their Car/Hot Rod period but there are still some Beach/Surf songs too(although this kind of is their swan song there), the Girl songs are always there as well. If you love them for their sound at this time, probably starting with LDC and continuing up to but not including Pet Sounds, these are their best albums vocally, instrumentally, and of course in production(on Brians end). There are some extra tracks which in some cases are pure joy when finding a killer rocking song(I loved All Dressed Up for School). This CD with 2 albums is an absolute essential to anyones Beach Boys music collection. Don't get me wrong, I love just about everything Brian and the Beach Boy's have done, including one of Rock and Roll's classic albums of all times(Pet Sounds), but this is the Beach Boys I fell in love with and will play over and over again, period. I just wish there were more music like this today, but it isn't being done and it also was a place and time that has long been gone. Get these and sit back and enjoy their Sun drenched/Hi Revving genius.

5 out of 5 stars A car concept album & a small masterpiece of teenage angst on 1 CD!.......2007-01-30

Little Duece Coupe is the ultimate car concept record and plays great even though a few tracks are a few years old and already released.
All Summer Long is highly recommended and Brian's first peak. These 7 songs listed here are ESSENTIAL listening.

5 out of 5 stars Car songsfor cool kids .......2006-12-10

Although the car or automobile has ruined the planet with its incessant demands for streets
and parking spaces and gas wars, these songs rule!

4 out of 5 stars I'm not braggin', babe, so don't put me down........2006-09-20

This CD features two Beach Boys albums.

Little Deuce Coupe was the Beach Boys' fourth album. It features a bunch of their car songs. Four of the songs had been on previous Beach Boys albums. Most of the songs are very good. One of the highlights is the moving a capella tribute to James Dean, "A Young Man is Gone".

All Summer Long was the Beach Boys sixth album. It also has a "theme", of sorts, that being "fun in the summertime". It was the Beach Boys best album at that point. It features their first #1 hit, "I Get Around". Other than that, it features a number of other songs that are considered to be Beach Boys classics; including "All Summer Long", "Little Honda", "Wendy" and "Girls on the Beach". No bad songs, although "Our Favorite Recording Sessions", which features outtakes of the Beach Boys messing up, is definitely "filler".

There are four bonus tracks; including the superior single version of "Be True To Your School", the previously unreleased "All Dressed Up For School", and alternate takes of "Little Honda" and "Don't Back Down". Any Beach Boys fan should enjoy this CD.

5 out of 5 stars An EXTREMO good album.......2006-01-02

This album has lots of their original stuff on it including their hit "Little Deuce Coupe"obviously. My Favorite Song is "Drive - In" on this album. I have an "opinion" about the Beach Boys... They're GREAT!!!!!!! I've seen a Beach Boys concert before that had almost EVERYTHING.... But all Beach Boys concerts now-a-days do.

4 out of 5 stars Powerfull 80's / 90's Hard Rock for Today.......2007-01-16

I can't believe both of the "Beautiful Creatures" releases basically slipped under the radar? As most reviews have stated this is great hard rock band in the 80's and 90' vein. But by no means does this sound dated at ALL. This could fit in with many bands of today and kick their *&%$#@! Why these guys didn't get major label backing from Warner Bros. I have no idea?! Gritty, "In Your Face" guitars and vocals, great rhythms'. It has everything you could want. Basically cross "Bang Tango" with "Guns n Roses" and you get "Beautiful Creatures". If that sounds good to you, pick this up now! I would definitely say start with the debut. If you like that get the sophomore release "Deuce" it comes in a close second.

5 out of 5 stars Incredible Sophomore Album!.......2006-07-26

The Creatures are back with a great 2nd album, following their killer self-title debut. Rock n' roll in the vein of Guns n' Roses...but made in the 21st century? Oh, Hell yeah! This band is one of the few that keep any hope alive in my cold, black heart that music isn't all bad these days. If you're a fan of good, driving, hard rock with great riffs, soaring solos, and those gritty vocals that made bands like AC/DC, GNR, and Motorhead sound so filthy good, then you'll love this band. The BEST thing to happen in music, and it's been a long time comin'!

3 out of 5 stars Pretty good follow up.......2006-02-25

This is no where near as good as the first one. But it still a pretty good Album. It is worth a listen.

5 out of 5 stars THERES NO CRYING IN ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!!!!!!.......2006-02-23

Some of you kids may still be stuck in that rut where I was just a few years ago. You know, where it sounds like the whole rock and roll scene is a bunch of pussies who do nothing but bitch and complain. I know, I know, it's tough out there, especially the Junior High kids who think they have heroes, until they realize that those heroes are a bunch of pole riders. WHAT? THERES NO CRYING IN ROCK AND ROLL! You know it, I know it... the music industry doesn't. Radio still pumps out mundane cry baby bands all the time. They pretty much own the airwaves, as they have for almost a decade. Who REALLY thinks this stuff is cool?
Now, kids... check these guys out BEAUTIFUL CREATURES. This album is the second from these guys, it is AWESOME, and you will NEVER hear it on the radio. This is straight up rock and roll, whiskey drinkin', metal driven rock and roll. Nobody's crying about how mommy was too hard on them. This is booze, chicks, partying late, and more booze. You cats think you can handle it? GREAT!
The first album (self titled) is completely pisser too! It was released in 2001 and also go ZERO recognition.. I think you will be as confused as me if you hear it.
This album (DEUCE) was released in the U.S last summer at which point I had already obtained a copy via a friend of mine who got in in Japan where it had already been out for months.. AND gets extensive radio play, so I've come to understand. What is wrong with this world?
If you like your rock a little hairy, but with a ton of balls, and a heavy sound for todays youth, you will not regret it. I sware, if people followed THIS direction, Rock and Roll would be on a whole new war path and ACE would surely be gettin' kicked all around. Until then, I guess we'll all keep going to psychiatrists and wondering why daddy didn't love us. Just don't write any more "rock" songs about it, please.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Amazing sound! Fantastic CD!!.......2006-04-16

I recently picked up this CD together with Rockabilly Rumble - these CDs rock! I'm a huge fan of 50s rockabilly and rock n' roll and these CDs deliver the goods. The sound quality is excellent and the songs are great. If I had to choose I'd say I prefer the more vintage sounding tunes on the CD - Rockin'Ryan and The Real Goners, Rip Carson, '52 Pickup, Peter and The Wolves and the Long Island Hornets. But all the songs are great. Golly Gee and Raucous when are we going to get Volume 3? I can't wait!

1 out of 5 stars Bad Sample Rate! Horrible...........2005-11-04

The sample rate sounds like telephone quality....like a bad mp3. I wouldn't reccomend this CD.
I am sure the songs are great, but you can't tell...

The highly-anticipated 2003 album from writer, producer and certified rap legend The D.O.C. With Deuce, the D.O.C. sets out to create a new history, one whose setting is miles away from the city of Compton that made him famous. Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Welcome 2 Tha Brand New World, Bitch!.......2005-11-06

The D.O.C. born Tracy Curry in 1968 in Houston, TX has a long history of MC-ing from back in the N.W.A. days from "No One Can Do It Better", till the year 1990 D.O.C. had a terrible car accident, crushed his vocals sounding like a menacing demonic creature, then in 1991 N.W.A. broke up! Dr. Dre & The D.O.C. left Eazy-E to hook up with Suge Knight to form Death Row Records, in which The D.O.C. has appeared on both Doctor's The Chronic, & Big Snoop D-O-Double G's Doggystlye, then in 1995 left Death Row to work on his 1996 release with DJ Erotic D on "Helter Skelter", which D.O.C. sounds almost menacing, yet tired & weary!

In 2003, The D.O.C. is back with a new pack of friends, Houston Native D.O.C. has lived in West Dallas, TX for a while before moving to Los Angeles, CA where in West Dallas D.O.C. met rapper Six-Two & The Silverback Crew, in which the year 2003 The D.O.C. drops "Deuce" for his 3rd Album, which is good for both West Coast Rhidaz & Dirty South Playaz! The D.O.C. has plenty back up on this Album thanks to Six-Two & his old friend DJ Erotic D in which he duz bring them into the Brand New World where West Coast meets Dirty South on the song "DFW' featuring Six-Two, El Dorado, U.P.T.I.G.H.T. & Birdman, or "The ?hit" featuring Ice Cube, MC Ren, Snoop Doggy Dogg & Six-Two.

Deuce features Fort Worth, TX's own Six-Two, El Dorado, U.P.T.I.G.H.T. & Cadillac Seveille, as well as D.O.C.'s partner DJ Erotic D, Flea, Birdman, Jazze Pha, Voodoo Einstein, N.W.A. partners Dr. Dre, Ice Cube & MC REn, also Death Row partners Kurupt, Snoop Doggy Dogg & Nate Dogg!

The D.O.C. is still one of the Best there is!

    4 out of 5 stars Where's the 6two solo?????????.......2005-03-27

This album was soem dope ish, the d.o.c's few verses sounded supprisingly good. However the real star of the album is DFW native 6Two who is featured on "xxplosive" [...] from dr. dre's 2001 album. 6two rips this album stealing every song he's on, in fact half the songs are 6two by himself with no guests. I don't know why 6two isn't bigger or why he doesn't have a solo out cuz he definatly deserves it, his laid back gangsta flow is one of the coldest in the south. If you don't have this album you need to get it the beats are tight, and guests include dre dre(beats and rhymes), ice cube, mc ren, snoop dog, nate dogg, jazzy pha,mc breed, and d.o.c.s' new silverback artists. All the guest come correct but 6two still steals the album(and i'm not just dic ridin'). Check out his ish on 2001 and then buy this album. And if you know where the 6two solo is holla back

4 out of 5 stars Texas banger with West Coast flava.......2004-12-15

The DOC reps Texas but he is much more West Coast than Dirty South. This is because he was discovered by Dr. Dre and was an unofficial member of NWA. DOC no longer raps much because he damaged his vocal cords in a near fatal car accident, but his crew carries the album. Six-Two, who also appeared on two tracks on Dr. Dre's 2001 album, has the most air time on Deuce. And he really shines. I can't wait until he drops a solo. Dr. Dre and Jazze Pha provide much of the production and old NWA partners Ice Cube and MC Ren as well as former Death Row lablemates Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg make appearances. The albums weaknesses include too many skits and a few filler tracks at the end of the album. But if you are a fan of old school West Coast gangsta rap reminicent of The Chronic, Straight Outta Compton, and Death Certificate, then this is an album you must have.

    4 out of 5 stars Where's D.O.C.??? Make another Solo album!!!.......2004-07-30

I was disappointed without the full presence of D.O.C. on this album. On your own albums you are supposed to be the one in the spotlight. Not with this album, D.O.C. has less than 5 minutes of mic time on the whole album. I think he could back in the scene if he went all out and had a true follow up to Helter Skelter. PUT OUT A REAL SOLO. PLLLEEAAASEEEE!!!!

    5 out of 5 stars 6'2" IS THE MAN!!!.......2004-05-10

There is no doubt that DOC hasn't lost it! His voice may have changed, but the gravelly edge adds a lot to the words he uses. It sounds more hard-core than most other rappers bcuz when you hear him you know that his life hasn't been easy. He's been hit hard, but he's still going STRONG! This album should've hit the charts in a HUGE way, but it didn't get the promotion that it deserved. 6'2" helps to make this album really clean! He is one of the most underrated rappers out there today! If you haven't heard this guy, you're MISSING OUT!!!

      3 out of 5 stars Ehh,.......2005-08-01

Its alright, its no Coheed by any matters. The vocals are similar to Axl Rose and the guitar similar to Slash, its ok. Good thing its just a side project.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty darn good!.......2005-05-11

Three of the four songs are really good. The first song features backing vocals from one Claudio Sanchez, you might know him from somewhere.... Track two is odd and features a trumpet, but the last two tracks are rockin. Doesn't sound like Coheed, but still real good - despite corny as hell lyrics.

Regardless of what you might think of this controversial comedy starring former Saturday Night Live star Rob Schneider, the soundtrack features several tracks as classic as leisure suits and roller boogie. Which is to say the 1970s never die, they just get reupholstered from time to time. Once used as the signature track to Paul Schrader's American Gigolo, Blondie's "Call Me" is presented twice. Blondie's original version is the one worth breaking out the dancing shoes for, whereas Emilia Mojello's cover is stiff, constricted by a halting beat. Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" is a first-rate call to sexual arms. "Spill the Wine" by War with Eric Burdon (formerly of the Animals) is a classic period piece. 10cc's "I'm Not in Love" mixes AM-lite pop with progressive rock to dizzying effect. Hot Chocolate and KC and the Sunshine Band are typical additions to this shag-carpeted soundtrack. --Rob O'Connor

It doesn't have the song I was looking for. You know when he goes into the dance club and gets the overpriced martini and grape juice? There is a rap remix of Stayin' Alive as he is walking in. That one is not on here.

WHile this OST is decent, I will admit that Scary Movie AND Deuce Bigalow have this one song in them that plays in the MATRIX-spoof scene of BOTH movies. I can't find out who did it or what the name of it is. if anyone knows...PLEASE tell me. this is driving me up the f(_)cking wall! it's not listed on IMDB.com or any other internet related movie database. please please help me if you can. thanks!

      5 out of 5 stars outstanding cd!!!.......2005-10-19

i'm agree with most of the reviewers, and i'd like to add something:does anybody notice the song " lift me up"(jeff lynne ex ELO)? is a masterpiece!!! i'm sure this is the kind of cd everybody should have in our houses

4 out of 5 stars Juvenile Movie; Adult Soundtrack.......2000-09-17

Just rented the movie and was most impressed by the "snippets" of music interspersed throughout. The producers could not lose with tracks by the likes of Blondie, Marvin Gaye, 10cc, War, KC & the Sunshine Band, and Hot Chocolate.

Sure, all of the artists have had their work reused constantly, but the inclusion here elevates the film to somewhat memorable status.

Pass on buying the flick, but spend your change on the great soundtrack.

4 out of 5 stars Awesome movie, awesome soundtrack!.......2000-09-06

This was a hilarious movie (note that I can spell)! The "Call Me" remix at the end had me up and dancing and annoying my buddy. hahah So, I HAD to get the soundtrack. This has some great old tunes, plus some neat, new stuff I have never heard before. Great job on this one!

5 out of 5 stars Deuce Sets the Stage for Rory's Great Career.......2005-08-30

Strange that it may sound, I kept my copy of "Deuce" unopened and slotted with my other Rory Gallagher CDs for a year before I could listen. I had last heard "Deuce" on vinyl quite some years ago, and the opening chords of I'm Not Awake ushered me back to my college days and debates with my friends about the merits of Mr. Gallagher's guitar mastery. The energy that flows from this music crackles, whether Mr. Gallagher is playing acoustic blues, coaxing magic from his slide, or wringing out just the right amount of feedback.

The dark, edginess of his first solo release have receded (though I love that CD for other reasons), and "Deuce" pretty much set the stage for how Mr. Gallagher's later catalog of recordings would be structured, intermixing blistering power riffs from tracks such as Crest of a Wave and In Your Town with plaintive blues songs such as Don't Know Where I'm Going and Should've learned my Lesson.

His stalwart sidekicks from the early days, Gerry McAvoy on bass and Wilgnar Campbell on drums, generate the rhythm that sets the course, keeping things down to earth and lively. (Mr. McAvoy played bass with Rory till the end.)

This remastered CD sounds clear and free from the technical problems that have marred some of the others. That clean sound, a fine bonus track called Persuasion, and expanded liner notes are enough to justify replacing older copies of this CD

It seems that many folks tend to disregard Rory Gallagher but anyone who takes the time to listen will appreciate how fine a talent we lost in June 1995.

5 out of 5 stars The best Rory CD.......2005-06-06

Rory's best solo disc and best production after several muddy sounding discs.
Brilliant guitar work from the master of blues rock.

      5 out of 5 stars Flawless.......2004-12-24

This was the final Rory Gallagher album that I bought and I searched high and low for this baby. Unfortunately, it's out of print in the states but was lucky enough to stumble across it while in Ireland. (Ever notice how hardly anything goes out of print in Europe?) Anyway, I definitely got the best Gallagher last because this one smokes. It starts off with the very laid back "I'm not Awake Yet" which features Rory strumming along on acoustic while Gerry and Wilgar hold everything up with a solid rhythm. He then transitions into full on rock mode with "Used to Be", a fantastic piece with a start-stop riff that gets in your head and won't leave. "Don't Know Where I'm Going" is a fun acoustic track. "In Your Town" showcases his substantial slide technique in the form of a rollicking, stomping riff complete with great lyrics and some wonderful vocals. You can just see Rory grinning while singing. (The version of Live in Europe is even better). But the absolute gem of this album is "Crest of a Wave", perhaps the most volatile track Rory ever committed to tape. While Wilgar and Gerry hold down the fort with one of the heaviest, thundrous, most unshakeable blues rhythms I've ever heard (Page, eat your heart out), Rory's slide playing enters the stratosphere and keeps on going to the place where the earth meets the sky. The solos are absoultely insane as Rory makes his Strat scream and shout. The entire song lives and breathes. And the brief studio banter after the ride-out is cool as well. In fact, there's not a bad track on here. Of all his studio work, Deuce is the culmination of everything that was and is Rory Gallagher. If you ever run across this is a used record shop, pick it up and be carried off by this amazing album by one of the greatest musicians ever.

4 out of 5 stars RORY RORY RORY !.......2002-08-08

The Irish God! The master of blues-rock! (altough he can play anything from jazz to country to folk)!

This 1972 album is his second release. What a gem, like all his other works! The band here is Rory on guitar, vocals and harmonica, Gerry McAvoy on bass and Wilgnar Campbell on drums. All of them shine throught the whole of the album, so good it is! I just do not rate this five-stars because CALLING CARD is Rory's ultimate masterpiece.

Rory, wherever you are, God bless your soul.

5 out of 5 stars Myriad of rythms!.......2000-03-13

This is an excelent cd of an excelent musician. If you not know anything about Rory's music,it's the right beginning. Fantastic mix of great rythms, from blues to rock'n roll, from Jazz to Soul, with great 'solo'performance of Rory,a genuine guitar'show'man! I loved the emotional track 1,an acoustic masterpiece, and i agreed with the other customer, that track 10 show us,one of the great slide soloes ever recorded.Really a musical GEM!
