About the Artist
"Well, Mike's just this guy, you know?" -- Srini Sativa. Much of what we know about singer-songwriter Mike Day comes through his mates, particularly Srini Sativa, the well-known pariah of Oxford some call the Indian Timothy Leary. When they were roomies and hosting all manner of clambakes in their smelly little flat on Mansfield Road, Mike got inspired one night (and who wouldn't after what he'd ingested?) and began playing songs extemporaneously for everyone. They all had a laugh, and soon it became a regular feature of their debauched evenings. Srini saw he had something of value, there, and suggested he record some of these tunes. The result is the Welcome Back to the Green World album. The album was an instant hit, and the universal reaction from everyone who knows Mike is that they didn't know he had it in him.

Impressive debut CD.......2000-10-19

I frequently search the Internet in search of new talent and was pleasantly surprised by this debut effort by Lotus Bite. Reading that Mike Day accomplished the writing, singing, production, and even the artwork on his own was awe inspiring! A great blend of shadowy creativity and a clarity of thought. This CD reminds me of Michael Penn's sophomoric effort, "Free-For-All," along with the intermingling resonance of Nirvana, Elliot Smith, and Sting.
