Live country albums are relatively scarce these days, and that's regrettable. Granted, the studio is a remarkable place, yet there's something about a quality concert recording--the immediacy and raw interaction with the audience--that no studio effort can match. While most concert albums are recorded at one location, Kenny Chesney created this collection from tapes of five years of shows at various locales. The material reflects the past eight years of his career, including "How Forever Feels" from 1998, "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" from 1999, and "What I Need to Do" from 2000. "When the Sun Goes Down" comes complete with Uncle Kracker, who appeared on the single. There's an edgy version of 2005's "Beer in Mexico" and a remarkable performance of "Anything But Mine" in which a surprised Chesney stands by as the audience takes over the chorus. What's amazing is the blazing-hot consistency of the band throughout. While their backing reflects Chesney's arena-rock influences (no number is shorter than four minutes), his charisma, energetic presence, and ability to connect is pure country. --Rich Kienzle

Great Live Album.......2007-01-18
It was cool to hear his old songs with his new voice. I think his voice is more smooth and rich than it used to be (I liked his old voice too). Anyway, good sound, mixed well, upbeat, great song selection. Not alot of his "MEGA HITS", but we can hear those anytime. I really enjoyed this live album, totally recommend.
Nice Collection.......2007-01-11
An excellent collection of some of Kenny Chesney's best songs, all done live!
Kenny at his very best!.......2007-01-05
This CD is AWESOME! It's been in my CD player ever since I got it and I play it over and over again. It's great hearing my favorites and some new Kenny Chesney songs. I also love hearing his commentary on some of the songs.
Solid Live Effort.......2007-01-04
Chesney is still a drugstore cowboy, but a pretty good one at that. Anyone wanting to hear his greatist hits live should pick this up. Sound quality is terrific and the band tight. I would highly recommend it.
Kenny Chesney always puts out a winner!.......2007-01-03
I love Kenny Chesney so of course I love this album. Great choice of live songs to put together on an album!

I love this guy.......2007-03-21
Jason MRAZ is very soulfull and fun. Very talented. I love his music!!!!!
simply the best.......2006-12-21
This is by far my favorite Mraz album. I love all of them, but after being introduced to this, I was blown away. This is a must for any fan and if you're thinking about buying this, just buy it, you won't regret it! Mraz is such a talented performer, a wonderful vocalist/guitar player and he is by far one of the most kind, humble people you will ever meet.I've been lucky enough to see him in concert multiple times and every time was just amazing.
A must for fans of Mraz!.......2006-11-09
This guy's amazing to listen to on CD, and even better live--if you can imagine that! With a unique mix of attitude and charm, meaningful lyrics and captivating vocals, he gets you higher than his falsettos. If you're a fan of Jason, then you will definitely want this CD, as it contains tracks not found anywhere else. Reason enough to get this CD are the tracks "Not So Usual" and "Unfold". You'll want to listen to this one over and over.
I can't turn it off.......2006-09-04
I was already a fan of Mraz before this, but after I bought this i don't want to listen to anything else. This live show is incredible both audio and video. Java Joe's is good too with just him and Toca but listening to him with the full band is incredible. If you have a passing interest in Mraz, start with this. If you have a serious interest and you don't have this, do not hesitate and get it immediately.
Mr. AZ.......2006-08-22
Saw Mr. AZ for the first time, as an opener for the Stones and loved him. Might I add, I am 60 years old. Never too old to learn a new musician.

It's Dreamy.......2007-01-10
This is a very wonderful recording of Stephen Foster by a master singer.
Foster's songs are of a more innocent and naive time in the American psyche, a time that it would not hurt us to remember, given the wretched brutality of American culture today (something you'll appreciate after listening to this recording).
The songs are beautifully sung by Mr. Hamspon, and the musical accompaniment with piano, mandolin, tuba, banjo, etc. seems a perfect setting for this period music. I enjoyed the musical interludes of Foster songs (not sung by Mr. Hampson), such as "Oh, Suzanna", "My Old Kentucky Home", and "Camptown Races." They are foot-stompin' and finger-snappin' good in a non-syncopated way.
Mr. Hampson's voice is so beautiful, and he has done such a wonderful job with these song's you'll just have to hear it, and when you do, tell me that you're not dreaming.
I remember reading a quote by John Phillip Sousa that decried the use of syncopation in American popular music. I never understood it until listening to this recording. The richness and intensity of American popular music (as experienced in the work of Stephen Foster) has been lost.
Everything has to be so cool today, thanks to syncopation, and "cool" really means no emotion.
If emotion is what you want, emotion is what you'll get with Stephen Foster's songs. It was a time when the death of loved ones (especially those who died in their youth) was experienced more often (see "I Dream of Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair" and "Gentle Annie"). And we were not protected from the vicissitudes of fate by myriad government programs, modern medicine and universal prosperity (see "Hard Times").
Husbands and wives had their differences then, as today, (see the amusing song "My Wife is a Most Knowin' Woman") The passion of the Civil War (Foster was a Unionist),is reflected in a wonderful, fun song, "That's What's the Matter."
If you love good music, and you have heart which can be stirred, and you love your country, this is for you.
I love this recording. It has opened up the door to my "beautiful dreams," dreams of bygone days, lost love, and whatever else we pine for.
I wanted to buy several copies for my friends, but somehow I felt that the impact of this recording was so personal, that it could not be shared with others. Not that they couldn't enjoy it, but that I could not begin to share the intense emotion and reverie stirred in my heart by these beautiful songs.
My Favorite Composer of all time.......2006-08-20
Growing up playing his stuff on piano, I love the instrumentality of this CD..the violins give off that wail that he speaks of..I am not sure what it is about Stephen Foster but these verses..grab me like no other..there is so much sensitivity to it..
I dream of Jeannie with the light brown hair
Born like a vapor on the summer air
I see her tripping where the bright streams play
Happy as the daisies that dance on her way
Many were the wild notes her merry voice would pour
but the violins in this CD make this CD the best out there..
FYI should you be into astrology Stephen Foster is definition of Cancer...Sun and Moon conjunct in Cancer with mars in Scorpio..i love his lyrics..almost to the point of obsession..
An American classic from Hampson that brings smiles and tears.......2006-07-17
Stephen Foster was the greatest American composer of sentimental parlor ballads--he so perfectly imitated folk songs that his music wound up turning into them. In an age of home music-making and later of families sitting around the radio, Foster's songs were a staple, often performed by crossover artists from opera like Lawrence Tibbett. Those were plump, ripe styles of singing, highly flavored by church hymns.
In this 1992 collection of 17 Foster favorites, plus a few rareties, Hampson drops the platform manner and goes straight for heartfelt sincerity. His tone is plain yet sweet, his expression intimate. He is accompanied by instruments redolent of the Victorian drawing room (guitar, fiddle, upright piano), and the mood they create brings tears and smiles of remembrance. This music is embedded in America's genes, and it's wonderful to realize that every note is still alive and throbbing with feeling.
OMG!!! More than 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 stars, one of the best album in the world!!!.......2005-11-25
Simply one word, WOW!!!
Thomas Hampson's voice is simply fantasic. His voice is very different from regular operatic baritone voice, very sweet, and rich. I really cant believe an operatic baritone can sing folk song like THIS good, in my opinion he sounds even better than his opera works in this album. His voice and the background music matches perfectly, the outcome would move u to tears, and u can feel the origin of MUSIC. This album really shows what the word MUSIC means, and the songs simply just ALL beautiful. I like his "beautiful dreamer", "my life is well knowing woman", and "jeanie with the light brown hair" the most. When I listen the songs I would just imagine that I am in the world of past USA, and I can feel the life of the ppl in the past USA~ just like watching an old classic movie, it would touch ur heart and fall in love with this album.
It's simply lovely.......2004-12-14
I didn't know Stephen Foster (I thought): wrong: Oh Susanna, etc, I knew, but had no idea who the composer was.
This CD is a revelation. The melodies are so beautiful, as are the poems, and Thomas Hampson just brings them to life as wonderfully as ever. I especially love "Beautiful Dreamer" - it gives me butterflies - and "My wife is a most knowing woman" - the way he makes the voices and the indignation is just brilliant. If one needed reminding what a brilliant singer Mr Hampson is - this disk does it.

Album Description
Time Again...Amy Grant Live was captured during two sold out performances April 11th and 12th, 2006 at the exquisite Bass Hall in Fort Worth, TX. Weaving a retrospective journey through a lifetime's worth of her most treasured songs, Amy invited audiences into her "living room" for a live concert experience unlike any other.
Customer Reviews:
Amy still delivers.......2007-07-16
And the kids wonder why she's still a dominant force in Christian music, even though she hasn't had a number one pop hit in years. Well, she has a back catalog of 200-plus quality, honest, lived-in songs and a charming and lovably unadorned "Ideal Friend" public persona that no other CCM artist can touch. That's why.
As others have noted, she was sometimes given short shrift for her singing and songwriting abilities because of her unmatched popularity and her looks. But time has proven her impressively capable in both arenas. In fact, some of her lyrics are revealed as prescient and are even more powerful as she (actually, we) go through midlife. Sandi Patti was the premiere Christian vocalist in the 1980s but Amy was the impassioned voice of everyone's hopes and doubts.
A word of caution: If you're fixated on being able to sing along note-for-note with these classic songs, you may be in for a disappointment. Not only have the arrangements and instrumentation of her older synth-pop tunes been altered for a casual stripped-down feel but Amy is more experimental in her phrasing these days. if you appreciate the Frank Sinatra/Willie Nelson school of reinterpretation with each performance, you'll love this set. If you're interested in a perfectly recreated nostalgia session, not so much.
The constraints of the single-CD format cause some of Amy's trademark just-folks banter and pindrop-quiet stories of the DVD presentation to be lost. But this is a mandatory audio version for the car and iPod.
Helps to the fill the "void" of a recent live set in Amy Grant's portfolio.......2007-06-24
Amy Grant may just be considered the greatest Christian Contemporary Artist in modern music history. She has both the commercial and critical success to back this up. It's hard to believe that Amy's career spans nearly 30 years. On top of achieving this success in the Christian Contemporary arena, Amy had a very successful "crossover" to the mainstream pop-music scene in the 1990s. Surprisingly, most of Amy's most successful material - in both the Christian and Pop arenas has not been on a live album. Yes, Amy released two albums very early in her career (1981's "In Concert" and "In Concert Volume 2"), but this did not contain the material that fans are most familiar with. It would be 25 years later when "Amy Grant - Time Again" would be released. This would be the long-awaited live album that would draw from her most successful material. Overall, this album while not perfect - does help to fill this one void in Amy's very successful career.
I can look at Amy Grant's career as encompassing three main phases. The first phase covers 1977 through 1981 (her debut self-title album "Amy Grant" through the "In Concert Volume 2"). In this phase, Amy definitely showed her youthful side (her first album was released while she still was in high school). For the most part, Amy did some nice songs and was able to establish herself as a Contemporary Christian Artist. In Phase 2 (this would cover 1982-1988, starting with "Age to Age" and going to this album "Amy Grant - The Collection"), Amy ascended to legendary status in the Contemporary Christian music-world both commercially and critically. This is where her husband to be Gary Chapman would begin to have an influence in her music. In this phase, Amy would show the most depth with her Christian music. When Phase 3 (1988 to present, starting with "Lead Me On" to present), Amy went into her full-fledged crossover into the mainstream (pop) music arena. 1981's "In Concert" albums do a great job at showing some of Amy's best live work from Phase 1 (in fact, many fans will find some really "hidden gems" in Amy's career on these albums). "Time Again" will focus more on her work from Phase 2 and Phase 3.
As mentioned, this collection does help to fill the void. It has its good points and weak points. Here are ten things to look from:
1.The collection draws its music from performances on April 11-12th, 2006. For the most part - there is something magical about hearing a great performance on a single night captured on a collection. For the most part, I find that when taking live songs from different concerts on different nights, the flow is disrupted. . However, this collection does a nice job at getting as close to creating a single night experience as possible.
2.The collection includes a CD and a "Bonus DVD". The "Bonus DVD" should not be confused with the separate full DVD release of "Time Again". It is important to know that not all of the songs from the April 11-12th shows are included on here. A more complete version is found on the full-length DVD. Songs such as "Carry You", "Lucky One", "Fathers Eyes", "El Shaddai", "Big Yellow Taxi", and "If These Walls Could Speak" are only included on the full DVD. "Lucky One" is also not on the CD, but is on the Bonus DVD. The band Rush released an identical CD copy to their DVD "Rush in Rio" - and it was a complete concert from a single night. I wish more artists would follow this lead.
3.The Bonus DVD didn't do a lot to sell me on the full DVD release. I found much of the camera work to flip too much between Amy and the band - breaking focus on the performance. There are split screens that are on "Stay For a While" and "Lucky One" which I also found to be very distracting and annoying.
4.The nice thing is the small venue that these performances were taken from. The performances were from Bass Hall in Fort Worth, Texas. I think the intent of having an "intimate" live recording is successful. The Bonus DVD helps to demonstrate this visually. In addition, Amy has a strong band backing her up - and this helps Amy make the most of this setting.
5.There is a very interesting version of "Baby Baby". Amy does a country-spin on the song. I felt this spin in a live setting was actually a better version of the song.
6.The version of "Every Heartbeat" is outstanding. It is the best live cut from the collection - the only problem was it was too short.
7.One can make an argument that albums such as "Lead Me On" and "House of Love" are not well represented on the set list. However I think a more glaring omission is that there is no material from "Unguarded".
8.The set includes an Acoustic "unplugged" Set midway through the performance. This is typical with most live performances today. This helps enhance the "intimate" setting of the show.
9.I liked the inclusion of "Believe" - the theme song from Amy's reality show, "Three Wishes".
10.There is a solid new studio version of Amy's 1982 show, "In a Little While". This new studio version not only has more of a pop feel than the 1982 version, but it also reflects Amy's maturity as now a 40 plus year-old woman. You will also hear more guitar on this version.
The liner notes include acknowledgements from Amy herself and producer Steve Bishir. There are also musician and songwriting credits listed. Overall despite some of the weaker points of this collection, I don't think anyone can complain about the quality of the performance. This is one that should help fill the void of the lack of a live album from Amy Grant and should also appeal to the mainstream fan.
Grantster Rock!.......2007-05-24
Before listening to this CD, my favorite live album was KISS ALIVE II Alive II, but no more! Amy leaves them in the dust! And without the blood, pyro, and makeup. Trust me, this one makes you want to scream! Rock On!
Collection of Musical Memories.......2007-04-19
Amy Grant has enjoyed a 28 year career and was among the first artists to cross over from Christian music to enjoy some pop success. In all that time, her only live recordings were from earlier in the career. So, to correct that, she released this CD.
While she does some of her earlier hits, the focus is on the second half of her catalog. Frankly, this makes sense since this is most likely what she does in concert these days. Still, I was disappointed not to see such classics as "El Shaddai" and "My Father's Eyes" not make the CD, although I do understand they are on the DVD.
What is here is great. The songs mostly sound like they did when first recorded. And most of them stand up well all these years later. The biggest change is to "In a Little While," which she gives a modern pop sound. I like the new version just as much as the 24 year old classic version. But I don't think we needed to have the live version and a studio version on the disc. Another highlight is "Believe," the theme from her short lived TV show "Three Wishes," which hasn't been released anywhere else to my knowledge.
Long talking breaks can make or break a concert CD. While Amy talks occasionally, it's only for a few seconds at a time. There are no long stories that give additional insight into these songs. At the same time, there are no jokes that were funny the first few times but fall flat on repeated listens.
The CD comes with a bonus DVD that includes five songs from the DVD release of this concert.
This is a great collection of songs from a long pop career. I was reminded just how much I love some of these songs. By no means perfect, it will certainly please her many fans.
A Testimony to the Surprising Endurance of Grant's Music.......2007-03-08
Amy Grant's music, while always enjoyable and well done, on the surface has rarely reached an artistic level that you might think would stand the test of time. Grant reached her artistic peak to date with Lead Me On (1988), a superb album that in the 1990s widely was considered to be the best contemporary Christian album ever released. (It still deserves that award, IMHO.) Her next studio album, Heart in Motion (1991) catapulted her into the pop stratosphere with its five top 20 hits (four of which reached the top 10). Since that pop success, only the musically spare, mostly acoustic Behind the Eyes (1997) and the overproduced but underrated pop of Simple Things (2003) have hinted at the depths plumbed in Lead Me On.
At the same time, however, artistic depth is not always the greatest good. Grant's radio hits and other pop songs have impacted lives because they are so practical, down home, warm, and full of emotion. Quite simply, they radiate a simplicity and goodness that make them both attractive and relevant. Grant's new live album, Time Again ... Live, commendably shows you both her artistic side and her pop sensibilities. It helps that Grant is a very good stage performer; while I wasn't that impressed with her the first time I saw her live in 1986 on her Unguarded encore tour, her 1995 Decade of Hits and 1998 Behind the Eyes shows both were excellent.
The CD itself works on two levels. First, it's a wonderful trip down memory lane for those who have followed Grant over the decades. Second, though, it shows you that Grant's music endures the passage of years to a degree that you may not have thought possible. Freed from its mid-1980s technopop effects and long opening and closing segments, "Stay for Awhile" packs a greater wallop by bringing to the fore the non-sappy memories of two friends; it's a timeless song. The four hits from Heart in Motion found here still are enjoyable pop tunes 15 years after their initial radio play. The one charting single and three more serious tunes off of Simple Things give you some sense of the depth of the largely ignored album and are played better here than on the original recording.
It helps that Grant clearly is not content with pulling out the hits here. (Otherwise, she should have included at least one song from her first successful crossover album, 1985's Unguarded.) There are more than enough familiar radio singles, to be sure, but there are also a large number of very good tracks that never got their due before. (How many people remember that Grant was the first to record the Will Jennings [cowriter of the Celine Dion smash "My Heart Will Go On" from the film Titanic] pop song "Oh How the Years Go By," which only later became a hit when Vanessa Williams sang it?) Grant was inspired when growing up by 1970s singer/songwriters such as Carole King and James Taylor, and you can hear that influence in just about every song here. (You can also see in pictures and on the DVD, which exists to promote the complete Time Again ... Live DVD [purchased separately], a living room stage set that clearly apes Carole King's living room stage set from her tour two years ago.)
The missteps here are few. It's both surprising and disappointing to find "Lead Me On" as the concert opener. This seminal, important song is an emotional high point and, given its weighty subject matter, needs a buildup of songs with related themes beforehand. (Grant and her bands created such a context in her mid-to-late 1990s tours.) And while Grant is backed by a very good band, I would argue that her prior bands (particularly the one on the 1998 Behind the Eyes tour) were better because they creatively extended many of the songs. The band on this album pretty much follows the studio versions to the letter, although they occasionally shorten some songs. The album's final track, a new studio recording of Grant's "In a Little While" (off of her 1982 Age to Age album), does nothing except for give Christian radio a single with which to promote Time Again ... Live.
Still, if you like Amy Grant's music, you should buy this album. It will remind you of why you have liked her and may just show you anew, as it did me, how she is not to be taken lightly.

Customer Reviews:
The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra needs a guitar player!.......2006-11-09
Granted, they only need it for one composition (the last one, "The James Bond Theme") but still, without the guitar it's just not the same. Barry didn't compose this one so I suppose it was a bonus and I shouldn't complain, really. The rest of the music on all the CDs is fantastic. Some of the stuff I had heard before without realizing who had composed it. Very enjoyable, to say the least.
Persuaders Theme!.......2006-03-02
Buy it for the Persuaders theme, probably the best TV theme song ever written.
A Variety Of Classics!.......2005-12-06
John Barry has been composing film scores for over forty years and this is only scratching the surface of his productions. Never mind that the entire set is recorded by the Prague Philharmonic; it's pure to Barry's themes. While John Williams compositions ("Star Wars", etc.) are wild and flamboyant and Jerry Goldsmith's (Hoosier's, etc.) are mood pieces, John Barry crosses over all barriers and is amazingly diverse. Barry has recorded most of the exciting James Bond themes, melodramatic classics like "The Lion In Winter' and moody theme hits like "Midnight Cowboy". He also tugs at the heartstrings with compositions from, "Somewhere In Time", "Frances" and "Out Of Africa". He varies his themes for all types of films and few composers capture it so well.
There is over four hours of music in this set with a colorful and informative booklet.
Incredible Barry Collection.......2004-03-11
Any fan of movies will absolutley love this collection. Being a movie buff I couldn't wait to get this boxed set. Knowing Barry from all the James Bond movies, I did not realize his involvement with so many others. The orchestra is magnificent in all these themes. I'm listening to "High Road to China" right now and I'm drifting in the clouds in a Tiger Moth with Tom Selleck and Bess Armstrong. If you are familiar with a movie it will definitely have you seeing it again, if not the scores are still beautiful. Any fan of classical music will be pleased as well. Travellers will defintitely enjoy it for a long drive. I know from when I use to travel that music like this made the miles float by faster. I highly recommend these four CDs even if you just know a handful of the songs.

Amid fine work, a new star!.......2004-09-28
Baird, Russell and Van Buskirk give fine performances in a splendid
program, but tenor Frederick Urrey [his Foster recording debut?] is a sensation! A glorious voice, with a perfect command of style in
operatic, ballad, ensemble and even comic scenes, his Melinda May is breathtaking, his Beautiful Dreamer is the best on records, his
duets charm and his drunken husband is a gas! He has it all!! In my 25 years of total immersion in Foster and his era, I have never
even dreamt of hearing an artist of such stature. Foster was said to have a fine voice and to sing his music better than any other.
I pray we now hear more of SF's songs as he must have sung them!
Stephen Foster Would Be Proud.......2004-02-26
Linda Russell is a remarkable woman. I have every CD she has done and I've never been disappointed in the high quality recordings she releases. I consider her every bit of an historian as the authors of history books.
This collection of Stephen Foster tunes, one of two that Russell has partaken in, is a rousing collection of the musical sounds of the mid-19th century. Soprano Julianne Baird and tenor Frederick Urrey join in with Ms. Russell's alto vocals to make a truly remarkable ensemble (including the musicians playing the mountain dulcimer, fortepiano, fiddle, hammered dulcimer, recorder, and accordion - all on authentic antique instruments). All combined show off the genius that Stephen Foster was - the 19th century's top songwriter who wrote music for ALL time, not just his time.
But if it wasn't for the musical reenactors (on CD at least) of Russell and company many of these long lost gems might have stayed hidden, sadly unheard. Some choral music, a feel of opera, a bit of traditional folk all mixed together to make what I feel is an authentic piece of musical history.
Here's hoping that Linda Russell and friends continue in the making of traditional music - Christmas and popular.
Ms. Russell, do you ever tour? We'd love to see you here in Michigan!
Foster at his simple best.......2002-01-22
What a delicious surprise this little album is, and from the ..... date, it appears to have been around for a few seasons, but is utterly new to me. I am a Julianne Baird fan from the get-go, but was pleasantly taken aback at her appearance on an album of American songs with folk balladeer Linda Russell (who plays dulcimers, mountain fiddles and all manner of country instruments and sings with the earthy texture of Judy Collins). But as usual Baird finds a way to integrate her own exquisite sensibilities and artistry into the assignment and makes a touching case for the simple and heart-rending Foster tunes--this is, after all, "early music" in which she excels--American "Early Music." Tenor Fred Urrey is another find and he likewise blends wonderfully into the surroundings. In fact, the three diverse artists hit their stride in a haunting trio rendition of Old Black Joe. Keyboard and string instruments have a ghostly and authentic ring to them as well. indeed, after the pompous and overblown Foster CDs of better-known opera singers in the bins today, this is so welcome. A treasure!
Get it today.
Well-rounded and convincing.......2000-10-27
This is an excellent rendition of Stephen Foster's songs, capitalizing on the duality inherent in the repertoire: the beautiful parlor ballads and the rowdy folk-inspired tunes. Especially remarkable is the fact that the performers bring to the music the "early music" sensibility (Julianne Baird is renowned as a performer of Elizabethan lutesongs)--this sensibility urges the performers to be as historically accurate as possible, performing on original/reproduction instruments. Also of note is the fact that it is a collaboration between classical and folk musicians: soprano, alto, tenor, fortepiano, fiddle, mountain and hammered dulcimers, harmonica, recorder, and accordian. Linda Russell (alto, mountain dulcimer) is lyrical and moving with her "folkie" voice, perfectly complementing the other "cultivated" voices and grounding them on the occasions they come together in poignant harmony.
I only wish that they had incorporated a 19th c. parlor guitar to round out the ballads. Overall, however, one can well imagine that this is indeed the way the music sounded. As one of America's first "popular song" writers, the present performers succeed in doing him justice by incorporating many styles of 19th c. popular musics, avoiding the anachronistic "bluegrass" sound often used in performances of this repertoire, and never succumbing to waves of overly self-indulgent nostalgia.

Album Description
Few artists were as definitive of the popular-early-70's rock sound than the phenomenally successful duo of Loggins & Messina. When they first came together Kenny Loggins was an acclaimed songwriter and Jim Messina a former member of both Buffalo Springfield and Poco. Their combined talents delivered a host of chart hits and timeless favorites that remain classics of the singer-songwriter pop-rock genre. Live finds these two consummate musicians revisiting the music that made them world-famous with the passion and energy that have inspired fans for decades.

loggins & messina live in 05.......2007-06-11
This CD was recorded and mixed as good as it can be having recorded and mixed many albums in the past 33 years tihs one is great.
Selection could have been better.......2007-04-12
Nice live set. My only complaint is...they should have selected "Sail'n The Wind", "Be Free", "Kind Woman" or "Thinking of You" over the much
over-rated "Angry Eyes". Not to fond of THIS version of "Vahevala" either. Otherwise, FANTASTIC!
Loggis and Messina Live: Sittin' in Again at Santa Barbara Bowl........2007-01-10
I thought Jimmy Messina must have died in that he seemed to have disappeared for so many years. Then to have found him again and hear him play and sing so sweet was wonderful. The guy is a master, and to hear their set, music for many of us the background for many a college romance, brought tears to my eyes. Kenny Loggins hasn't lost a thing , including his need to try and be the star, while he is superbly talented and a joy to listen to, Jimmy Messinas guitar, vocals and writing was clearly the backbone of the group, melding perfectly with Kenny Loggins vocals, writing and back up guitar. If you liked their music then, you will love this film and their backup band is first class.
Boy it's SO Good hearing this music again!.......2006-04-02
For some reason I wasn't expecting much of their reunion tour, so I didn't go when they came to the area. My husband got me the DVD for Christmas and I had to have the CD. I was a Loggins fan for many years starting in 1980, spending many teen and 20s days listening to old L and M 33s and tapes. If you like L & M music at all buy this CD. The musicians are SO excellent.
Too Good To Be True.......2006-02-25
If I hadn't attended two shows this summer and seen them live and in person , I would have thought "overdub city".
Not so.
I previously thought (being a musician myself) that the days of loving a concert were long gone.
I urge every fan (and non-fan) to watch and listen.
Also good for performimg musicians; to remind them of why people go to concerts !

One of the best albums ever!.......2007-05-07
This is perhaps one of the best albums from this very talented group. If you want to hear what Izzy Vibes sounds like in the flesh this album does them massive justice.
When I bought this album originally on cassette tape I played it so often that the tape gave out!
ISRAEL VIBES...LIVE AGAIN!!.......2003-09-02
IF YOU ALREADY OWN ISRAEL VIBRATION'S "VIBES ALIVE" ALBUM, YOU KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT ON "LIVE AGAIN." YOU GET ALL OF THEIR RAW LIVE POWER IN FULL FORM ON "LIVE AGAIN." PLUS, "LIVE AGAIN" CONTAINS SOME OF THEIR HITS LIVE IN CONCERT, WHEREAS "VIBES ALIVE" SHOWCASED A SINGLE CONCERT. SOME OF THE SONGS THAT WERE ON "VIBES ALIVE" APPEAR ON "LIVE AGAIN" (NO, THEY'RE NOT THE SAME EXACT TRACKS). NEW ADDITIONS INCLUDE "THE SAME SONG", "LICKS AND KICKS", AND A COVER OF BOB MARLEY'S "WAR." IF YOU WANT TO FEEL THE POWER THAT ISRAEL VIBRATION BRINGS TO THE STAGE WHEN THEY ARE LIVE, THEN THIS IS THE CD FOR YOU. IF YOU ENJOY THE "VIBES ALIVE" CD, OR IF YOU ENJOY PURE LIVE REGGAE MUSIC, THEN THIS CD WILL NOT DISAPPOINT.

For anyone who has ever listened to Reggae, or even if you hate reggae, you will LOVE this cd. After one listen you will be singing and dancing as well as searching out other CD's by Izzy Vibes!!! This is the ONE and ONLY start for your Israel Vibration CD collection. They are the best reggae band on tour right now! and they never stop!!! They have suffered from Polio their entire lives, they are on crutches! They sing and dance and perform like you wouldn't believe! Buy this CD and go see them before its too late!!!
Sweet........2003-01-04
Ive heard all IsVibes CDs and they're all great, but this one I think tops the cake. This CD is all the way through the best CD they have out. It sounds great for being a live version and in any system would sound clear. If you like any other IsVibe CD, buy this one.
solid live album.......2002-07-11
since i am actually seeing Israel Vibration play tonight, I listened to this cd a few times to get a sense of how they play live. Well this CD is good but not great. Some of the songs simply are only ok, and the classic Same Song isn't played very well. But all in all there are good tracks like a great version of There Is No End, a strong Rockford Rock, and of course the classic ganja theme Red Eyes. Could be better, could be worse.

While the sales of Sarah Brightman's ambitious, Middle Eastern-themed 2003 album Harem may have fallen short of its predecessor, the veteran UK chanteuse's popularity as a live performer has only mushroomed. This live recording of her ambitious, sold-out Harem World Tour engagement at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Arena is testament to that appeal, begging the question: Will Brightman become the Grateful Dead of classical crossover? Indeed, abetted by the rich sonic textures of longtime producer/collaborator Frank Peterson, the worldbeat conceits of her recent studio recordings are folded into a larger, even more expansive live vision here. Brightman's overt dramatic instincts and oft-chaemeleonic vocal abilities drive a slate of material that stretches from the Arabian Nights/Madame Butterflypastiche of Harem's seductive "It's A Beautiful Day" through surprisingly effective classical/rock reinventions of Kansas' "Dust in the Wind" and
The Moody Blues' chestnut "Nights in White Satin" to expected classical bowings "Nessun Dorma" and the obligatory nod to
"Phantom of the Opera"

AMAZING! She is so much better live!.......2006-12-02
This CD rocks! This is Sarah Brightman on her Harem World Tour, and this performance was recorded at her stop in Las Vegas. The first two tracks, "Kama Surta" and "Harem Overture" debut from her newest album, entitled HAREM. The two tracks are connected, but in the actual Harem Tour, the full piece "Harem" is sung. If you go to www.youtube.com and type in "Harem Tour" in the Search Bar, you can see live videos. I would prefer that the album has placed "Harem" instead of these other two tracks. The third track, "It's A Beautiful Day", is from Madame Butterfly, written by Puccini. This version is Brightman's twist, which some more pop and some English. It's pretty cool. The fourth track on the album, "Dust in the Wind" is from EDEN, an amazing album. Track 5 is, "Who Wants to Live Forever", and it seems as though Brightman never creates a tour without putting this piece in it. It's a beautiful tribute to Queen's rendition. Track Six is "Anytime, Anywhere", also from EDEN. I'm not really into the Foreign Language - English songs, but this works very well, especially because she ends the song with the classical foreign language. The seventh track is Brightman's rendition of Dvorak's "Song to the Moon", or "La Luna". The track is beautiful! The eighth track is Puccini's "Nessun Dorma", and Sarah masters this beautifully! There is no other soprano I know that can sing this piece one octave up and can hold the ending note for ever!!! Track 9 is "The War is Over", which is followed by "Free", both from HAREM. Track 11 is "A Whiter Shade of Pale", from LA LUNA. It's beautiful to listen to. Sarah's version is very gentle, but has a lot of energy in the chorus. The twelfth track on this album is "Twisted Every Way", followed by an instrumental version of "The Phantom of the Opera" Theme. The next track is "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again", which is extended at the end, in which you hear some men cry out "WE LOVE YOU SARAH!", and she responds cutely with an, "I love you, too." The audience laughs! Track 14 is "Time to Say Goodbye", the duet that made Andrea Bocelli famous, and skyrocketed as the number one single sold in German history! The last live track on the album is "A Question of Honour", from "Fly", which is awesome! The last track on the album is a bonus track, which I don't really prefer. However, the whole album is simply amazing. I much prefer Sarah when she is live. She has a more magical quality! If you love Sarah Brightman, then you will love this album.
ALSO RECOMMENDED : Since there is so much Sarah Brightman to choose from, I also recommend EDEN, TIME TO SAY GOODBYE, LA LUNA, CLASSICS, and DIVA.

Inspiring, Beautiful and The Sweetest Voice!.......2005-08-21
What an album, absolutly beautiful!
We, the fans of this great artist finelly have in our hands a live album, and it's amazing:
-The voice is totaly live, she sang about 24 complete songs in the show, but the album only contains 15.
-Snow In The Sahara is a lovely song.
If you have the chase of get this alubum, don't doubt and get it; It wond disapoint you!
astounding performance.......2005-06-07
an impeccable concert experience that successfully elevates the album to majestic heights. I had long been a fan of Dead Can Dance and the unparalleled work of Lisa Gerrard. When Sarah Brightman ventured into these Middle Eastern sounds on the Harem disc, I thought it was too derivative of the Dead Can Dance sounds (there is even a sample used on one of SB's songs that had previously been used within DCD).
However, experiencing this epic and intensely mystical concert compelled me to realize the individual and unique glory of Sarah Brightman. Also, this concert is so phenomenally entertaining at many levels that I couldn't help but fall absolutely in love with the special magic of Sarah Brightman. Obviously, the expansive Middle Eastern milieu can accommodate more than one angelic vocalist!
I now consider Lisa Gerrard and Sarah Brightman to be geniuses who both warrant goddess status in the pantheon of lyrical greats. To see either one of them perform live is surely one of the most powerful and memorable sensory experiences one could ever have!
Great, of course.......2005-03-18
Sarah's voice and style are terrific, as usual. However, I have to say that her version of Anggun's "Snow on the Sahara" is fairly bland, especially compared to the original Anggun version. Sarah has the chops but lacks soul on this great song. Everything els here is very nice.

Not what I remember.......2006-06-27
My mother had Johnny Rivers Live at the Whiskey A Go Go on album back in the mid sixties. It was completely different than what is offered here. I distinctly remember several songs that aren't on this collection. He did his own version of Suzy-Q. Also had Stop in the name of love, and Land of 1000 dances. If I thought about it long enough I'm sure I could think of others that aren't there as well. I was only 12 or 13 back then. I loved that album and wore it out completely. So where did these songs go? This being a two album set that's currently offered I have no way of knowing which songs are supposedly from which album? But I do know that this isn't right. I really wanted to buy that album again but this is so completely different and wrong!
More is Not Always Better.......2003-10-06
My roommate and I had purchased Johnny Rivers' Whiskey A-Go-Go- on a record album long ago, so when I saw that plus his Here We A-Go-Go Again on a CD I bought it for her birthday. Both of us found we liked the first set of tracks better than the second, including Walkin' the Dog, Brown-Eyed Handsome Man and It Wouldn't Happen With Me. We found the tempo on the Whisky A-Go-Go was faster than on the Here We A-Go-Go. It still has the Rivers' sound and plenty of tracks to do some foot-stompin' to, just so long as you don't need to worry about turning the sound down.
Small Venue with a Tight Band and a Big Sound.......2002-06-13
I first heard the latter of this compilation (Here We A-Go-Go Again)at a friends place back in 1969. His mom had the record and everytime I'd visit, she would let me blare the stereo as long as I'd have Johnny Rivers playing. Some years later I bought both albums for my own and still listen to them today although "Here We A-Go-GO Again" gets the nod. Johnnys crisp guitar and harmonica playing along with Jerry Rubins drums and Joe Osbournes bass gave this trio a great sound.
Great songs like Chuck Berrys "Maybelline" and Roger Millers "Dang Me" were spun out on Johnnys southern style of Rockabilly Blues. "High Heal Sneakers" has a great bottom line rhythym with Johnnys almost inert vocal style. The album is mostly all cover tunes but I really appreciated the way Rivers kept the tempo for the audience who on more than one occasion included themselves in on the show. It's a real simple concept with a small venue armed with talented musicians playing to a very receptive crowd. I still play these songs and although not a considered a classic by any means, it still remains one of my favorites.
