    5 out of 5 stars Amazing.......2004-11-03

I have had the chance to meet Hobo Jim several times and everytime he has remembered me, even though here have be years between the meetings. I find his music to touch my heart in so many ways. To see him perform live is fun and educational. He has a personality that doesn't stop and he makes you feel like a friend the moment you meet him. Keep up the wonderful Job!!!

5 out of 5 stars True Alaskan Music!!.......2004-06-04

Hobo Jim is a true Alaskan Bard! Any real Alaskan Sourdough knows that life in Alaska is not easy but well worth it. Hobo Jim nails it with his music and lyrics. I highly recommend all of his albums. You will either relate or learn. His lyrics are put together with such inspirational thought that can only be compared to the likes of Robert Service! We love you Hobo Jim! Keep singing it loud and proud!! Oh.. and if you ever get a chance to see him LIVE... prepare to have the time of your life! (yes...I'm the son of Gail)

5 out of 5 stars This is the REAL Alaska.......2000-09-08

Hobo Jim tells it like it is! We are raw, real, and wild! He is our heart and soul and if you can't see him in person then you must have his music. We have carried his music around the world with us and everyone will find something that will call his soul and heart to sing. To know Jim is to love him. He is a wonderful person and a true poet. We consider him a friend and a true representation of the Alaska Spirit and soul. We LOVE him and know you will too!!! He is Alaska incarnate.

5 out of 5 stars True Alaskan Folk Music for all Sourdoughs!.......1999-07-11

This an excellent CD. In order to capture the true essence of this music, you must first live in Alaska. During that time it is a must to see Hobo Jim play live at the First checkpoint of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, the Knick Bar!! Then and only then will you discover one of Alaska's most valued treasures!!!

3 out of 5 stars Cute, but not memorable unless you have lived in Alaska.......1999-05-20

Folky and acoustic with some cute themes that I suspect most people in the lower 48 will not get. I listen to this CD about once a month, whenever I get a little homesick. He is definitely much better in person for example at the Talkeetna Bluegrass festival. He played well with the crowd and gave us the songs we loved, more because of who we were than who he was.
