i agree with one of the other reviewers in that she ought to pick a style and get good at it.
to be honest,all her songs sound exactly the same,not because the music is bad,,but because her voice has one style and thats it.
the only thing she has to offer,is her face/body on the cover of the album.
if she didnt have them looks,or that body,OR she didnt appear on the cover to begin with,, do you realy think we would have ever heard of her??

Theresa's album took a few listens. Her talent is clearly evident as a vocalist, song-writer and instrumentalist. Once she decides which direction she wants to take her music, then I believe she will be an artist to reckon with. Having seen her live, I can say that the best Theresa Andersson experience is the live one. Pop Diva or Pure American (by way of Sweden)Songwriter? I hope she chooses the latter. This album is definitely worth the investment!

Watching the Brooke Ellison story and hearing the song "It's Gonna Be OK" I knew that the talented Theresa was behind the scenes of this heart warming story! What a treat to see her in the movie and hear her sing that song, it was PERFECT!!!!!!
The whole CD is fresh, funky, soothing to your soul!

Theresa Andersson is a triple threat. She sings like an angel, plays the fiddle with devilish glee, and writes heartfelt and insightful songs. She is the most naturally gifted artist I've heard in years. SHINE is a great listen. "Connected" is a nice pop romp, "Shine" has an infectious melody, and "It's gonna be OK" will soothe your soul. Theresa is an inventive female singer/songwriter with a true gift for melody. Shine is a nice reflection of her talent.

A good way to sample this lady from New Orleans!.......2006-11-22
This CD falls half way between a full length CD and a "CD Single". It runs just 18 minutes and nearly 5 minutes is devoted to the highly - "Borderline", which fits this New Orleans native's smokey voice. She plays violin on a few tracks and guitar on others. Track 2 - "Accoustomed to the Dark" has a false guitar start which was strangely left in. Her sound probably has more of an Austin touch to it than New Orleans and the lead off track is a Lucinda Williams tune "Jackson" (No, not the Johnny Cash/June Carter song by the same name.)
If you liked her first full length CD, you'll enjoy this as well.

good cd.......2004-02-28
I give this cd four stars because, as prior reviewers have stated, it does not equal the intensity of her live shows (especially when she is playing in a smaller venue). I would just like to make one comment, to sort of build on what other reviewers have said about the more "edgy" quality in her live shows--having first seen Theresa live in the summer of 2001 and having last seen her play earlier this month (and at least a couple of times in between), I definitely feel that her live performances have been getting edgier in the past couple of years--I do not really think the gap between album and live was as pronounced a couple of years ago when this album was was released.
New Orleans Beauty.......2004-01-13
Theresa Andersson's latest CD is a beautiful combination of soaring melodies and New Orleans rhythms, with both her voice and violin. The chemistry with her band is strong and the interaction of harmony and energy between them is fluent. The influence of New Orleans music is evident in the rhythmic interplay. This CD seems to get better the more I listen to it and I can't wait for the next one. Her live performances are on fire and each CD shows a progression and maturation of her considerable talent. This one is really enjoyable. I think you'll love it.

I recently saw Theresa at tipitina's uptown and was blown away by this woman. The cd is a bit brighter than what you get when you see this woman but, The hypnotic and very honest energy is still there. If you're in New Orleans check her out it's well worth any cover charge and the cd is well worth the price.
I have no regrets shelling out 15 bucks for this CD.......2003-04-20
I first heard Theresa recently in New Orleans at the Red Eye bar. She has been playing free shows there for a little while to larger and larger audiences. I am a tough critic, but really was blown away by her powerful voice and her wonderful violin skills. She reminded me of a slightly edgier, rawer Alison Krauss. After the energy filled show I made sure to pick up "No Regrets". Honestly, it disappointed me at first. Theresa's voice is more produced sounding than I would have liked. Some of the lyrics are also a little bit happy happy joy joy for my tastes. After a couple of listens though, I got past the sometimes poppy sound and could hear what lay underneath: a solid effort that showcased wonderful vocals and violin. The tunes only grew on me and pretty soon, I was addicted to this CD. Standout tracks include "Something's Gotta Give" (it sounds more like something from a live New Orleans show), Delirious (incorporating a haunting violin part), and "Love is Colorless" (the catchiest tune). Overall I'd say that from this album shines great talent from an overlooked, under appreciated artist.

A Wonderful Acoustic Christmas.......2004-01-02
As I was raised 1/2 French Canadian, one of the most cherished memories I have at Christmas time is hearing "Il est ne, le divin enfant." I have since sound a version out of Montreal. Dr. John sings a very funky version; but this Christmas while visiting my home away from home, New Orleans, I heard a beautiful version. The three performers are David Doucet, Theresa Andersson and John Fohl. I was lucky to hear it there; because I was able to buy it immediately. I notice as of this review it is out of stock on Amazon. When it comes back it's a beautiful Acoustic Christmas for all of you.
