Voxtrot are going to be the next big thing, and everyone should really own this EP is they consider themselves, "that hip". this is picture perfect pop, with the indie-edge. each and every song on this 5 song EP is great. highly recommended!

I love this CD! Clooney loves her girls you can tell. I recommend this as a gift for any mother expecting a girl or for any Clooney fan.

Rosemary Clooney was one of the greatest pop standard vocalists of the last century. Later in her career, she was able to explore the types of music she enjoyed singing, rather than what was commercially successful. In this 1997 album, she pays tribute to the women in her life: her daughters, daughters-in-law, and grand-daughters. The relationship between a mother and daughter is a rare and special one, and many of these songs bring this to light very effectively.

The best songs on the album are the classic 'Turn Around' (a duet with Keith Carradine), 'Baby Mine' and 'Always', as far as suiting her voice, and suiting the subject matter. The entire album is relaxing, touching, and a must-have for moms and their daughters alike.

This is a great selection of songs. It's so hard to find happy and positive music these days, and this CD has such tender songs, perfect for a mother's day gift or for anyone who wants a happy feeliing.

3 out of 5 stars Grammy Rosemary sings about her girls..........2001-07-13

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it is a very mature and loving grandmother who is singing about her girls on this album. Just carefully pick out a bunch of songs that suit her voice, make sure that they connect with the theme of "Mothers and Daughters" and away we go!

While Clooney once again chooses only those songs that fit her voice like a silk glove, the opening number, "Thank Heaven" (for little girls) may have been a necessity rather than flattery. All the other songs were pleasant to hear and complimented Grandma Clooney in only the best way possible.

I couldn't consider this to be her absolute best work, since I found so many of her other editions more entertaining. For the Clooney collector, it is a must have. I vote that you add it to your collection and enjoy it for what it is worth.... A tribute to her little girls!

5 out of 5 stars "reflections of love for her family ~ Girl Singer!".......2001-04-22

There is no better interpreter of lyrics than our Rosie, the "Girl Singer" ~ has the rare ability to put herself so completely in a song and make it her own. What other performer takes great songs, mixing them with her velvety rich voice ~ providing inspiration and powerful emotion.

Opening track ~ "THANK HEAVEN FOR LITTLE GIRLS", is touching sentiment with the women in her family (daughters/grand-daughters/sister-in-laws/sister) ~ how seldom Rosie has told them, but with this album and through music they will cherish and love every selection. Must make mention of the final track ~ "SISTERS" (Irving Berlin), performed by Rosie & Betty Clooney with Paul Weston & His Orchestra/recorded June 23, 1954 ~ the harmony is so instinctive that if Rosie coughed, Betty would find a third for it.

Want to thank ~ John Oddo (producer/conductor/arranger/pianist) ~ Glen Barros, John Burk & Allen Sviridoff (executive producer) ~ Leslie Ann Jones (recorded/mixer) ~ and Concord Jazz for this look into the inner most feelings of this legendary "Girl Singer"!

Extremely literate, well-crafted, and fun pop! I'm so bored and unimpressed with the vast majority of indie pop, and I'm particularly disgusted with the excess of "twee" bands. Voxtrot proves that you can be intelligent and sensitive without a hint of affected nerdiness. It also helps that these guys are not afraid to rock out. While they may be influenced by B and S and the Smiths, they are not mindlessly aping those two artists; the songs found here are full of creativity and new ideas that I hope will be developed further on later releases. Bring on the full-length!

Discovered Voxtrot a while back through a friend of mine; the track he let me listen to was 'The Start of Something' (from the Raised by Wolves EP). I was instantly hooked. It's been a while since I've heard a sound like Voxtrot: very poppy, a little twee, and incredibly catchy. You just feel happy after listening to their music!

They're constantly being compared to The Smiths, The Cure and Belle and Sebastian. Voxtrot may have influences from any of those bands, but their sound is definitely unique. Ramesh Srivastava's voice is very distinct and great to listen to. I highly recommend this album!! Favourite track on it is Soft & Warm.

I saw this movie on tv and I loved it. I think it is a great movie to watch with your kids because the woman and her two children never give up. This movie shows a young Helen Hunt in her first movie role and her talents show even at age nine.(i'm a fan of hers)
