I'll Be There: Songs for Jobs with Justice
by Si Kahn
"This record was commissioned by the Communications Workers of America in honor of its 50th anniversary and to further build its Jobs With Justice campaign." states the insert, and boy, did they get their money's worth, probably more than they bargained for, and certainly more than they could handle; in these days of galloping Fascism across the fair face of Lady Liberty, the CWA should mount a campaign for just plain Jobs With Pay, if they can still even communicate anything worth-while at all; but Si goes marching on!

Sample lyrics from tracks #
"So Long Ago" history lesson: "You should have been on the river in nineteen one,
chopping cotton in the white man's sun..."

"Working Away" day by day: "Up in the morning and reach for my coffee
Working, oh, working;
Jump in the car and run for the office.
working all the time..."

"Generations" ties that bind: "We are not the first and we won't be the last,
For the thread's too tight to unravel..."

"Some Sweet Day" hope lies in the future: "Just like ships that sail out on the water,
Driven by the waves far from their way;
We are separated from each other,
But we'll come together some sweet day..."

IMAGINE! you may call me a dreamer, but I'm not the only one,
Maybe some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one!

Viva la Rasa!

Shalom salaam pax peace...
All power to the peaceful people,
for they shall out-number the legions of burning bush!
