About the Artist
This compact disc features the soulful vocals and striking guitar style of Tim Sawyer. Throughout the album, the Rippintons' Steve Reid contributes a solid beat spiced with catchy percussion riffs, while Martin Tillman currently recording with Tracy Chapman and B.B. King plays cello. Eric Matsuno sets the groove with bass lines that range from melodic, percussive to funky, and Andrea Routh of Daisy Head/Fessic Rhymes weaves in haunting background vocals and chill inducing harmonies.

Stumbling over blocks of time for me..........2003-03-30

It's almost embarassing to sit down with a scattering of people at a Borders bookstore on a Saturday evening before closing time and suddenly realize that the band playing in front of the CD desk is head and shoulders better than 99% of what's on the shelves--do I deserve this? Do they deserve better than to put in all that effort for just me? I don't know what to tell you about this album except that for five years I've gone around mouthing the words to a song called "Stumbling over blocks of time with you" and can't get it out of my head. If you're an Ellis Paul fan you'll recognize the malady. Buy this album so I can repay these folks for their journey to a Borders so far from their home...

Tim Sawyer and Buzz: Sonic Enjoyment For Your Heart and Soul.......2002-12-27

Being the season of gift giving, it seems fitting to share my feelings about a gift that I recently "stumbled across". I am a music addict. I listen to music from all over the world. It can enrich those of us who really "listen" and are moved by great talent and heartfelt delivery. The gift I've found is from a truly gifted artist whose name is Tim Sawyer.

Not only does he have the gifts of extremely talented writing, musicianship, and arranging, but he also has the gift of drawing equally gifted souls to share their musical talents with him, producing a truly inspirational and lasting listening experience. The musicians that make up "Buzz" are exemplary. The recording quality it first rate.

Then he and the members of Buzz give it all to US, the ones whose souls are enriched by beautiful, playful, and thought-provoking stories, enveloped by truly unique and spirited melodies. Oh yeah, and did I mention, GROOVE? Yeah. These cats groove you and move you.

I highly recommend Tim's compilation of those stories and melodies on "Chivalry's Not Dead". He is a musical craftsman in every sense of the word.
