About the Artist
Jodi Shaw was born in Newfoundland, Canada but was raised primarily in New England. After graduating from Smith College she moved to Portland, Oregon where she lived, working as a wage-earner until 1998.

In 1998 Jodi left Oregon to study creative writing at New Mexico State University, which is where she also began writing songs. She taught myself to play guitar, playing her first open mike at a little coffeehouse on campus.

She left the desert in 1999 and returned to New England, where she began performing (for real) at open mikes, bar gigs, and on local college radio.

She began recording her first CD, The Myth of Patience on March 5, 2000; it was released on November 16, 2000.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars ALL OF JODI SHAWS' ALBUMS ARE BRILLIANT !.......2006-06-12

The Myth of Patience is the initial CD of the multi-talented Jodi Shaw's trilogy of gems. The other CD's are "Snow On Saturn" and "The Pie Love Sky". Her songs are consistently good and her music is mesmerizing. Jodi Shaw is a literate, yearning, poignant and witty lyricist. Her vocals are soothing, enchanting and solacing. Jodi Shaw must be exposed as a means for her wondrous CDs to be appreciated by the masses. Ms. Shaw is a peaceful vegetarian who embraces and loves all sentient beings. She is kind and dynamically talented ! Her songs are instantly enjoyable to the ears.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant.......2004-10-29

I first heard this CD is a book store in New Hampshire and asked the clerk who is was so that I could buy the album. I love Jodi's wit and amazing song writing abilities. Not only is she a dynamic guitar player but honest and brilliant combining melodies and harmonies into one smooth ass kicking album. You will not be disappointed.
