Released in 1997, it features Elke's fiddling on 37 tunes. Elke also plays viola on one track. I recently ordered and have just received the above mentioned album.
THANK YOU........
I ordered it just to have a copy of "Amazing Grace" on bagpipes, but after listening to the album, I am completely blown away. It is perhaps the greatest piece of music I now own. Depending on the song, I can get lifted up, mellowed out, or layed back, again THANK YOU, for having this album. I'm a very satisfied customer.

This CD was originally longer with more titles. It seems the Altissimo! people after they acquired it from the Canadian Scottish cut out several titles and reduced the overall quality of the CD. Because of this and various other technical factors I would not recommend this CD at this inflated price.

I got this CD shortly after its release in 2002. I am a flute player and I have hundreds of CDs that feature the flute in all types of musical styles, but this is a CD that I listen to more often than the vast majority of the others. Brian Berryman's playng is wonderful; exquisite and precise, but full of personality! The selection of repertoire is also great, a mix of baroque works based on traditional Scots and Irish tunes and some lovely medleys of Irish tunes played in a more traditional style. This CD will appeal to fans of both baroque music and the traditional music of Ireland and Scotland. You won't be sorry if you purchase this!!!

This is a true gem of the fiddle world. Elke Baker's playing style and ornamentation are as good as it gets. The accompanyment is also first rate. The presentation of the music is clear and delightful. You can play it over and over again in the car or at home and never tire of it. If you are going to buy only one fiddle recording, buy this one. But I will almost guarantee that if you do, you will be hooked on fiddle tunes, and this will not be your last.

I took a chance and bought this album. What a welcome suprise! Don't let the cover fool you, this is a collection of outstanding and heartfelt jazz. From upbeat New Orleans style, to the soulful strains of the blues, this is a full plate of clarinet-led quartet gold. What a tone! What a glissado!
What music!
I'm not an audiophile, so I won't discuss the technical merits of this album, but it sounds great to me!
