Customer Reviews:
Amercian Beauty.......2001-04-19
Truly, Droit's CD qualifies as an American Beauty, and a National Monument to his fourth generation heritage as a folksinger.
"Laughing" is Seriously Great.......2001-04-11
I love this CD, I thought it only had ten songs or so when I bought it, but it had 17 great tunes that are diverse and flowing, I hear influences by Neil Young ,Dave Mattews and then some Dylan, Petty, Tim Hardin etc.. very cool acoustic music!
Summer Shines on Laughing Like a Banshee.......2000-09-20
I was recently attending the Kerrville Folk Festival and I heard this young performer named Summer Droit, this guy had a beautiful voice that rang out across the meadow. I purchased his new CD, namely "Laughing like a Banshee" and have now listened to it nearly a hundred times. The music on it is so diverse that it keeps the listener entertained without losing the magic that binds a good song, and Droit's vocals are hynotically and constantly great. In addition to Hearing Droit, it was also a real treat to be exposed to some new voices such as Laura Freeman on "Sleepy Hollow" and on Chandler's "In a Tourist Town", another new and fresh voice was Kale Kalloch and to my suprise the disc also features the notorius Chris Chandler doing an original story of his own, as well as former Atlantic Records recording artist Brian Smith on Percussion. This would be my only bone to pick if I had to pick one at all, the percussion provided by veterans Brian Smith and Jason Wilkenson was a little low in the mix, but all in all, I give it two thumbs up, five stars and I can't wait for what this man does next!
