We have almost ever cd by UB40 and all my family loves it. We really didn't think this one was all that great.

ok let's put it this way : i couldn't beleive that ub40 still can make something to surprise me , especially after their " cover up " album which i qualify of horrible . ( i am a huge fan and i have all their albums ) .BUT " homegrown " is absolutely my favorite now since at least 1989 when labour 2 came out . the melodies on this album are amazing and ali's voice is better than ever and most of all , the production including the mixing and the sound quality , is excellent . i have the french version on which you can find a 2nd version of "young guns " with alpha blondy ( an ivorian reggae singer ), a version not included in the uk version . so guys don't wait , ORDER THIS CD NOW .

Perfect!.......2000-09-30

I received "Good Morning, Gus!" from a friend recently. We have a 6 & 7 year old and thought they might possibly be too old to enjoy the CD. I played it in the morning to get them motivated to get ready for school and it worked! They both drifted in the room when "You Gotta Eat Your Fruits" came on and were quite energized! They have since listened to the entire CD several times and love it. I hesitate to mention our favorite songs because they are all equally "perfect"!!

We was given this CD by a friend when we were expecting our first child. We loved the Song "Last Night in Utero". Now that our son is born, we play the CD on a daily basis. The songs are unique and fun for both baby and parent. We will continue to enjoy "Good Morning Gus" for years to come. I highly recommend this CD for all new parents. It makes a wonderful gift, too!

Worth looking for........2000-07-16

There's a surprising amount of excellent, relatively unknown kids music out there. I'd put this album at the top of that list. The songs are a lot of fun. They seem to be devided into "play time" and "sleepy time". The whole album is fun, memorable, and full of great songs that get stuck in your head (and you don't mind!). Rymer, Laurie Berkner and Dan Zanes are my kids' favorites. And Gus is a lucky kid to get an album this good named after him.

Not only will the kids love this music, but if you're a parent (like me) with little musical talent ... you can't help but appreciate the contribution Rymer makes as a parent with talent.

Britpop Classic - Absolutely Gorgeous!.......2000-07-23

I was very lucky to be living in the UK in the mid 1990's when a new surge of British guitar pop began to receive general airplay on a newly rejuvenated BBC Radio One. It was a genuinely exciting time to be a music fan as there was a widespread feeling that this era was producing truly classic albums to compare to the best from the 60's, 70's and 80's.

The Britpop bands unashamedly borrowed the best bits from the best British bands of the previous three decades and combined them to form a cocktail of pure commercial pop ecstasy. My top five, after five years of repeated listening, would be Dodgy (Homegrown), Boo Radley's (Wake Up Boo!), Oasis (Definitely Maybe), Blur (Parklife) and Supergrass (In it for the Money). I would suggest if you own and enjoy any of these mentioned items your collection would be far richer for owning all five.

Smashing, Brilliant, Not a Bag of Shite! - And a plethora of other funny British sayings!

I saw Dodgy live twice in Germany about 4 years ago and have been searching for this album ever since!

The incredible transitions and hard-hitting guitar work of this album brings a smile to my face each and every time I listen to the album. Dodgy's outlook on life, relationships and various circumstances portrayed through music is a story worth listening and relating to.

I am looking forward to adding additional Dodgy albums to my collection!

Whistlestop tour of 60s for younger people.......1998-08-24

This is a terrific CD if you like noisy sixties music but haven't the time to sit and wait for the best bits. And its much better produced than most records were then! Almost-quotes of Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd mix with the Beatles and other British psychedelic bands, but the whole effect is nonetheless decidedly up to date - or was when it came out!

This album only has 5 songs: "We Are Dumb", "Shirley D. Pressed", "Hanging Out", "More Than Friends", and "Another Face in the Crowd"

But all these songs are great. Don't hesitate to buy it, if you can find it that is. I enjoyed this album more than "That's Business", but it comes in second compared to "Act Your Age".
