About the Artist
Tom Caufield had played in bands from Ohio and Michigan, to New York, North Carolina and Nashville before arriving in Los Angeles. Maureen Doherty's musical journey had taken her on travels throughout Europe, Canada and the U.S. Both had been pursuing solo careers until a chance meeting at a Hermosa Beach Club brought them together. Sharing a double-bill, both were impressed with each other's talents and decided to try something as a duo. Both fans of rock's early harmony acts, they strived to forge a modern sound rooted in the Simon & Garfunkel/Everly Brothers tradition. Soon, their compelling material, fluid guitar work, and especially their heavenly harmonies began to captivate even the rowdiest of sports bars. Tom and Maureen had found a sound that was more unique, distinctive and powerful than their previous individual efforts. CAUFIELD was born

Nice harmony and acoustic guitar. Thoughtful lyrics. This new pairing to make Caufield should go places.

5 out of 5 stars Listening to Falling Short puts me in my own Utopia.......2005-07-30

Tom and Maureen made an album that puts me in a place where fantastical images dance before me and a beautiful sensation moves over me. I love listening to Falling Short while I'm riding my bike home from a stressful day of work and classes. They truly make beautiful music together!
