    Product Description

Fantastic band from Ukraine which interleaves Celtic folk influences with the speed riffing and technicality of death and black metal. Originally released only in Ukraine, Bombworks Records has made this incredible CD available for the rest of the world to hear. This is their first release.

    Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars A great album from norwegians best 70's folkrock band.......2006-07-07

The third album from the Norwegian folkrockband Folque was unfortunately the last to feature the beautiful vocals of singer Lisa Helljesen. Both she and the fiddler Trond Villa left soon after the recording. Folque continued to record new albums, but for me Folque "is" the first three albums. The selftitled debut "Folque", the excellent follow-up "Kjempene paa Dovrefjell" and this one, "Vardoeger", which really is a great album.
Favourites include the spirited Dansevise ("dancing song"), the chilling Varulv (werewolf) with all male vocals and the powerful ballad "Heming og Gyvri / Heming and Gyvri" where Lisa delivered some of her best vocals ever. My absolute favourite though is the final track of the album, "Seterreise", which starts out with beautiful harmonies courtesy of the siblings Lisa and Lars Helljesen and ends with groovy Norwegian folkrock at its best. I highly recommend this album. And while you're at it check out their two previous albums "Folque" and "Kjempene paa Dovrefjell" too.
