"It's time to pick up The Habit - soulful folk music rich in harmonies."

Product Description
Over the summer of 2004 The Habit played a number of big gigs - including a show for 20,000 people at Ottawa Pride, a high-tech set that was broadcast live on radio stations across Canada, and a show on Parliament Hill.

But the band loves the smaller venues most, where the magic is more tangible - their element is the living room, or a porch in summertime. Capturing some of that magic was the idea behind The June Sessions, a 6-track CD released in November 2004 with a packed launch party at Zaphods in Ottawa. The CD was recorded at Ottawa's mystical Little Bullhorn Studios on 2" tape, with everyone sitting around playing in the same room and bleeding into each other's microphones. For the listener, the result is audio voyeurism.

I disagree with the reviewer who said "there is no need for compilations." If you are curious about why some rate June Christy as "the ultimate voice of swing" then listen to this album. In my extensive collection, I find no better -- in fact no equal performance by any artist of "Baby all the time", "It's a most unusual day", "Midnight Sun", "Fly Me To The Moon", "When Sunny Gets Blue", "How High The Moon", -- the latter being 'the anthem of jazz'. Since it is a collection, the backup musicians vary and you will enjoy them all: Buddy Collete, Russ Freeman, Mel Lewis, Shelly Manne, and Bud Shank to name a few. Oh yes, there are Kenton recordings.

If you never had the chance to hear June Christy live -- this is your second chance.

I am an original June Christy fan and this is my favorite collection. The sound is perfect and the song choices are the very best. If you can only have one June Christy CD, this is the one. Also, the CD arrived in great condition and in a timely fashion.

There is no doubt that the music on this CD is great, however there is no need for compilations, all of June Christy's classic Capital sessions are available on re-issues, the best place to start is The Misty Miss Christy(Capital) and the very best is Something Cool(Capital) however Capital re-issued it all mixed up as a compilation, so I would look hard for Something Cool on LP. Also worth getting "Off Beat", "Fair and Warmer", "The Song Is June" all of these I would reccomend instead of this compilation.

I just would like to say that this album is amazing! At first I listened to it, and thought 'hmm, well this is kind of cool.' But I grew on it, and I truly think this album is solid throughout, with no song that I feel inclined to skip. Each song is very good, and there is a variety of tempos and rhythms and also instruments.

June Panic is overlooked, but I think he is one of my favorite musicians and songwriters. His songwriting is awesome! Comparable to Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, and the such..

This album, and many others by him, is definitely worth a look! I would be suprised if one wouldn't like it.

June Panic is amazing. I love his voice, and the lyrics too. I've been listening to this cd over and over. Definitely one of my favoriets!

This collection is a masterpiece for Peggy & June's fans. Although all the tracks are from the early days of both singers, the sound is a miracle.
Peggy Lee's sessions are the most intimate she did in her career. In many moments she sounds like a 'white' Billie Holiday with Dave Barbour on guitar. She sang quiet and her voice is clear, sensual, with a superb jazz feeling.
June Christy's tracks are almost the same.
I'm glad to know everybody can to buy this box-set in Amazon. The black and white boxes from Mosaic was an exclusive choices for aficionados. All Mosaic's release are outstanding, so don't miss this Peggy & June's moments to eternity.
