About the Artist
Representing artists from the eastern United States include Randy Armstrong, world fusion pioneer and founding member of DOAH World Music Ensemble. Randy has 10 albums on the Rounder, Domo and Global Pacific labels and has been hailed by the Boston Globe as "a sure-fingered guitar virtuoso" while Downbeat has called his music "a marvelous kaleidoscope of shifting melodies, rhythms and instrumental colors." Tom Dean, a founding member of the folk-rock group Devonsquare, is a critically acclaimed singer/songwriter and producer who has toured internationally and recorded for Atlantic Records. Jan Marvel, who Songwriter's Monthly described as a "rich creamy voice that is like dark chocolate and is immediately likeable", has moved many with her heartfelt lyrics and contemplative songwriting. Jan's award-winning music is always thoughtful and engaging. Also featured is Joyce Andersen, a staple in the New England music scene and an accomplished musician, who has appeared at Carnegie Hall and on the Conan O'Brien show. The clever and quirky Aztec Two-Step, well-known throughout the national folk music scene received Best Folk Album from the New York Music Awards in 1987 and recorded for Elektra Records. They have also shared the stage with such notables as Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen and Jackson Browne. Rebecca Martin based in New York City, provides a smooth and compelling contemporary jazz sound from her MAXJAZZ debut CD. Billboard has called her "impressive….with a jazz infused sensibility" while the New York Times has hailed her as "a strong musical personality with an intuitive undercurrent". Multiple winner of the prestigious John Lennon, Billboard and Kerrville Folk Festival Songwriting Competitions, Boston native Amy Fairchild performed in 1999 on the Lilltih Fair Tour at Jones Beach. Jazz fusion guitarist and composer, Randy Roos is a film and TV score music director for host Alan Alda's Scientific America series on PBS, with several album releases on the Narada label. He is also an instructor at Berklee College of Music. Sue Greenwood of Brooklyn, NY and New Hampshire is an ASCAP Pop Music Workshop winner. From their hometown in Nashville Tennessee, Swan Dive (Bill DeMain and Molly Felder) have earned four top ten hits in Japan to date. Their songs have been recorded by such artists as Marshall Crenshaw, Amy Rigby and Jill Sobule, also heard on the primetime TV show, Felicity.
The West Coast is well-represented by Crosby Loggins, son of legendary Kenny Loggins. Crosby's talent is more than genetic performing a lush and lyrical original entitled, 'Nobody No More'. LA Music Scene stated, "Incorporating jazz, folk and pop styles into the mix kept the listener always interested, but never confused." The extraordinary talent of Tracy Grammer has been praised by Joan Baez as "a brilliant artist and unique individual....Her voice is distinctive and beautiful, as is her mastery over the instruments she plays." Tracy's song 'The Verdant Mile' reached #1 on the FolkDJ-L airplay chart report in January 2005. The "hot pepper" sound and performances of the Latin duo, Neon Venus, has been featured on MTV Espanol, VHUno and MTV Puerto Rico. Nathan McEuen from Ventura, California and son of John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, contributes 'Beautiful Night', a Latin inspired "swoon tune" adding depth to the engaging and inspired compilation CD. Rounding out the album is Kenny Edwards, longtime co-writer, co-producer and member of the Stone Poneys with Linda Ronstadt. Kenny has recorded with Don Henley, Warren Zevon, Stevie Nicks among others. Hailing from Boulder, Colorado, Beth Amsel, contributes the well-crafted song, 'How It Comes To This' sung with "a voice that could melt ice….reaching into the soul and expressing emotions we try to keep inside", stated by the Eagle Times.

National recording artists from coast to coast have joined forces with Atta Girl Records to raise funds for tsunami survivors through a compilation CD entitled, "Tsunami Relief Project". This landmark album encompasses a wide range of genres including Singer/Songwriter, Folk, World Fusion, Latin, Contemporary Jazz and Americana. Each artist has donated their original recording in a tremendous show of support for this worthy cause. All profits are given to the international relief organization, CARE.
Each artist is lending their considerable support to the project through promotion and sales at their concerts and websites. From East to West and North to South, the Tsunami Relief Project is garnering funds for it's stated purpose. Less than one week after the May 13th release date, Atta Girl Records sent off their first donation to CARE. After much research, CARE was selected as a worthy recipient of funds because of their 92% donation rate and highly effective international rebuilding programs. Corporate and private donors, and personnel from all phases of production have each unhesitatingly had a share in making this project an early success. Atta Girl Records has pledged to send 100% of the profits to this long-term rehabilitation effort.
