This is defintely a very fine soundtrack of a classic television series.
BUT..... Aaaargh I'm looking for the opening theme not of Masterpiece Theater but of MOUSEterpiece Theater, the Disney show from the 80s, you know?
If ANYBODY has info on the name/composer of the theme plase let me know!!!
It is very similar to the opening theme of this cd, but its not the same...

Album Description
The crown jewel of the Kung Fu Records organization. The 14 songs on End Is Forever (The Ataris 3rd LP for Kung Fu) accurately reflect the dedication to the craft of songwriting that has skyrocketed this Santa Barbara, California quartet into becoming the fastest growing punk band in recent memory. Punk, pop-punk, and emo fans alike have been gravitating to Kris Roe's heartfelt hyper-melodic punk tales of teenage dreams and broken hearts in alarming numbers that are giving the band their highest weekly sales now, as we speak. The momentum that popped when Fat Wreck Chords released their Ataris E.P. in 1998 (as a favor to all of us), has been carried on by incessant touring throughout North America, Australia, Japan, and in the fall of 2000, Europe.
Kung Fu and the Vandals have done all they can to help develop this band and the results have been very satisfying for all of us. The Ataris now command their own league of followers. Demos pour in daily to Kung Fu from bands trying to sound like them, look like them, and play with them. They say imitation is the sincerest form of punk rock.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
1. Giving Up On Love: **** A song with great lyrics and a reasonably good beat.
2. Summer Wind Was Always Our Song: ****1/2 Nice pop-rock ballad with both emotion and Energy.
3. I.O.U. One Galaxy: ***1/2 The start of this song is excellent, but it could really use a bit of work.
4. Bad Case Of Broken Heart: ***1/2 Interesting way to put it - a feeling that feels like a disease: Broken Heart. Outside though, not the best song.
5. Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start: **** A brilliant backround sound makes this awkwardly named song a good song to listen to.
6. Road Signs And Rock Songs (Love Is Overrated): ****1/2 I love Mike's bass solo in this song, and saying, "And love is overrated. It leaves your devastated heart ripped in two." with Kris can be fun.
7. If You Really Want To Hear About It: *** There are better Ataris songs than this one. It's targeted too much toward little kids.
8. Fast Times At Drop-Out High: ****1/2 Again, the bass in the song makes the ballad noteworthy, and this solidly built song makes has no real complaints.
9. Song For A Mix Tape: ***1/2 Sudden theme changes from The Descendents, to fast rock, to Texan rock, makes this an unusual song. Listen if you like theme changes.
10. You Need A Hug: *1/2 The name sounds nice, but this song isn't good at all. As Kris is just writing to his little daughter instead of Denice (His girlfriend at the time), he not only makes it sound pretty poor, but also says bad words in front of her! Skip this one.
11. How I Spent My Summer Vacation: ***** Not overpowered, with great lyrics, time, and construction? Best song on the CD, and makes a VERY versatile ballad. This song, I REALLY like.
12. Teenage Riot: ****1/2 This punky song has everything you need to have a rule-free, fun, and naughty world. Don't listen to it too much though - the F word really stinks.
13. End Is Forever: ****1/2 Powerful song with more energy than most of the songs on the CD. Great guitar parts in the song make it very versatile.
14. Hello & Goodbye: ***1/2 It's just an accoustic ballad that might be hard to hear, but it ends the CD perfectly.
Best Songs:
1. How I Spent My Summer Vacation
2. End Is Forever
3. Road Signs And Rock Songs
Worst Songs:
1. You Need A Hug
2. If You Really Want To Hear About It
3. Bad Case Of Broken Heart
Overall: Not as good as So Long, Astoria, but Mike's bass parts in the EMO songs still make this CD noteworthy.
It Begins..........2004-09-14
Even if this album sucked, I would still have to give it some credit for including a sound byte from a Kevin Smith movie. However, End Is Forever doesn't completely suck. It's just somewhat unnverving. Since their debut, the Ataris had built a reputation as a great pop-punk band that could deal with emotions but not sound like they were about to start crying. That ends with this album. The tempos drop, the lyrics get sadder, and the overall tone turns from emotional fun to emo-drippy. On the bright side, The Ataris attempt some new stuff here, which is never a bad thing. "Song For A Mix Tape" includes a pedal steel guitar solo, and several tracks employ the use of an organ. Unfortunately, not all experiments work. When the band attempts to get punk on "Teenage Riot," it comes out sounding corny and insincere. I'm sorry, but after hearing Kris Roe sing about nothing but girls for years, I can't accept him as a riot-inducing cop hater. "Song #13" manages to inject a bit of hardcore into the Ataris sound, but it isn't enough to save this album from succumbing to the depths of the emo trend. The Ataris had always managed to avoid becoming emo, but it looks like all good things must come to an End Is Forever.
Best Ataris CD.......2004-05-19
alright just off the bat, i dunno how anyone can say blue skies is the ataris best cd because its not even better then so long astoria. This cd is like a greatest hits of their styles.
songs like "Teenage Riot", Song#13, and you need a hug are reminicent of the anywhere but here days.
their emo tracks are defiently blue skies like material, and if you really wanna hear about it is a great song (mentioning seaside nj might I add)
overall this cd doesnt have 1 bad song. if an ataris greatest hits cd was made, i would be surprised if one of these songs didnt make it.
Worst Punk rock album ever........2004-04-29
this would be an excellent purchase if you enjoy the always changing and exciting world of punk rock. However, i dont i saw the music video boys of summer and thought that maybe this would be a good purchase. IT WASNT. The songs are all very repetitive and lame, the riffing is the same the whole way through and i dont think that the band members can eve play their instruments right.
Another great addition to the CD collection.......2003-12-05
This one of the best albums (in my opinion) to come out of the falling pop/punk scene. It is because of this album i just got hooked on the*ataris. Though it has its emo side to it, it will still give you your daily dose of punk rock.
Though not surpassing the best ataris album, blue skies..., it would rank #2. It has some of it's dark songs ("road signs and rock songs"; "song #13", and "teenage riot") and the songs to pick you up out of a pit ("up, up, down, down,...", "giving up on love" if you just dumped, and "if you really want to hear about it" even though that song is semi-cheesy sounding). the worst song on the album would have to be "if you really want to hear about it" only because it is the most poppy song on the cd, but hey! you may like it. so...if you are into music filled with emotion, feeling, and just energy, go out and pick up this album. you will not be disappointed.

Customer Reviews:
One of their best later albums.......2007-01-25
This CD has the most traditional tunes of the post-70s Fairport Convention, and I generally prefer more trad. with my Fairport. That being said, it also contains some of my all-time favorite non-traditional Fairport songs ("Slip Jigs & Reels" and "Travelling by Steam" are fantastic). All the musicians are excellent, and I must point out that Simon Nichol's voice is wonderful on this album (really on all the ones he sings on, but I noticed it the most here). I don't know why such a rich voice doesn't get praised more. My only complaint is that there are a number of songs (like "London Danny" and "Diamonds and Gold") on this album that, while good, are real downers!
A lively example of 90s Fairport.......2002-03-17
The quality of Fairport Convention's 90s albums has depended on the material they've found to record. "Jewel in the Crown" is a pleasant return to form after the tedious "The Five Seasons". The songs are more lively here, giving the album a better pace and more upbeat feel. Highlights are the instrumental "A Surfeit of Lampreys", "Travelling by Steam", and "Slip Jigs and Reels".
Another great time with old friends........1998-12-03
Still another fun time with the Fairport gang. Travelling by Steam has an especially nice feel and gives the "sense" of being on an old steam train. Several good "story songs", particularly good imagery and tune in Slip Jigs & Reels. Title track rocks strongly. Ric Sanders (I feel a bit the traitor here) is the best fiddler that Fairport has had. (Sorry, Swarb!) Not Fairport's all-time best album, but well worth the price if you enjoy the band or the genre.
A bit lower than a hit but a good pursuader.......1998-08-30
This was the first Fairport CD I bought at the first live concert I had ever been to. This and the concert was enough to sway me onto Fairport and get more and more albums.
This CD is very good it has a few jigs and tunes (Youngest Daughter especially reccomended) and a number of good songs. It is a reasonably new CD (about three years old) so it features the last group (Simon Nicol, Rick Sanders, Maart (my hero), Peggy and DM.) This was before the most recent group (as in Who knows where the time goes) where Maart and DM had left so this is probably the best most recent CD.

Corinna Fugate's beautiful voice and amazing talent shine through on her debut album. Her songs are brilliant, touching and very real. This album shows a full palette of emotions - sadness, pain, fear, joy, love, and shades of everything in between. I can't recommend this album enough.
