Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars My Kid Says It's Ace.......2006-10-12

This CD is not for me; I'm writing the review from my four-year-old's point of view. That's not to say it's a kid's-only CD but just that I don't personally care for it too much (not my cup of tea).

Having said that, my son and his two two-year-old sisters love this disc and it is played quite literally every day at our house. We've had it for several weeks, now, and my little suburban pirate loves to put it on and dance around to it and he now insists that he listen to it every night while he goes to sleep (it even displaced his Dora the Explorer CD!). From a kid, I guess that's equivalent to a five-star rating.

It's fairly short for a CD (43 min); some of the songs are pretty silly, some of them are folksy; none of them are loud or super obnoxious (although the Pirate Joke Song is pretty obnoxious). For an adult, it got boring after the first couple of listens and downright obnoxious after the four hundred and thirteenth listen... but the kids stop fighting when it comes on, so... you understand why it gets played so often!
