With artists ranging from the super-well known to the recording debut of a talented youth chorus, Volume III contains almost 4 hours of memorial songs, almost every one performed by the composer. Artists in a wide variety of styles use fresh and timeless metaphors, set to exquisite melodies, to address moving and touching aspects of the grief journey, with songs that sprang from their own experiences with all manner of early deaths: accidents, disease, SIDS and other medical emergencies, suicide, murder, war and terrorism. The losses of 9/11 are memorialized in 3 original and moving songs.
Two booklets contain detailed liner notes with song lyrics, a discography of the "source" albums and website contacts for further information about the artists and their music. This unique collection of superlative songs, donated by the artists, will comfort anyone grieving after the loss of someone they love. All album sales benefit non-profit Hospice and suicide-prevention organizations.
