I first heard you (Michael) sign when I was 18 and was drawn by your stories. A month after I turned 20, I was diagnosed with a chronic bone disease. I would often lie in bed and listen to "Mercy in the Maze". I caught myself resting in the fact that my life wasn't a waste because perhaps I'm simply here for Jesus to love me. Not even disease and death can stop that from happening. your songs helped to seal my faith. Thank you.

I first began listening to this album when I was a new dad and a struggling student in Bible school. I traveled more than hour each way to work and truly relished listening to these story-songs. I continue to see their lessons in my life and am glad that God put Michael here to minister Jesus to us.

This is the only work of Michael Kelly Blanchards' that
I've had the joy of experiencing. I now plan to collect all
of his works.
Beautiful, uplifting, sometimes sad stories that stir the heart and soul.
I love every song on this CD! Mr. Blanchard truly has a gift of God.
Before I was a Christian I led a pretty wild life and did things that I was ashamed of so, "I Love You, I Do, You Bet!" was
especially comforting to me.
I could go on but nothing I say can do justice to experiencing Mr. Blanchard's work for yourself.

I heard of Michael for the first time about three years ago. After my involvement in music for years (in rock/pop music bands),Michael's thoughtful combination of words and music have given me a new revelation of what music can be. Without exageration, Michael's gift of song is like none I have heard before. If I had to choose a favorite of his, it would be "Holy Land of the Broken Heart" (I have instructed my family to have it played at my funeral) which contains the following refrain that I desire to be true of myself. ..."when my dance of days is through, when my oldest hour seems brand new, when all desires are for you, may my story be, that my treasures weren't of gold, that my pride lost all its control, to you, oh lover of my soul, Jesus all to thee."

Realistic vignettes of God intersecting the human condition........1999-06-19

Michael's songs are heartfelt and sincere. They recount many varied situations in different stages of life (childhood, adolescence, adulthood) during which realistic situations are encountered, both joyful and sorrowful. Each song brings the redeeming love, mercy, and grace of God to bear without religiosity but with compassion and care. These are songs that show how to look up at see the bigger picture, even when things are looking down. The lyrics and music are excellent, far beyond what is normally heard in this genre. I recommend this work without reservation to those who are searching for answers that are beyond the glib and pat replies often coming when tough questions are asked.
