Kate Chadbourne

Kate Chadbourne,Kate Chadbourne,RoS Music,If the Moon made music, she would sing story-songs like these: mythic, personal, far-sighted. Silvery voice, shimmering piano, and starry support from bass, cello, bodhrán, Irish flute, whistle, and a whisper of harp.

5 out of 5 stars "Henry Joy" astounds!.......2007-01-05

The song Henry Joy is truly enchanting and gripping.

For more than a moment, Kate suspends time as she weaves, to her own brand of beautiful music, the poignant story of this protestant maverick who stood out for the cause of Justice.

With this song and others, Kate displays poetic faith in and earnest yearning for the mystical and better Worlds, perhaps accessible by us through healing, justice, insight, empathy, and political consensus, she also sings of.

If you haven't heard it, I strongly recommend that you do so.

This may be where new music begins.

5 out of 5 stars It talks to your soul!.......2005-02-08

I first had the experience of hearing Kate's "Some Names and Hearts" back in 1987 --- and I was thrilled to see her first CD release. This is a must buy for anyone looking for music that simply touches the soul. Her music is full of emotion and life --a style that reflects many famous female artists but maintains something very unique and inspiring. I just love it! Hopefully more CDs will be forthcoming ---!!!

5 out of 5 stars A treasure.......2005-01-29

I've had the pleasure of learning Irish from Kate as well as hearing her make music and tell stories. She is a gifted composer and instrumentalist, and she has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard, with a personality to match. This CD is sure to delight.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful and Haunting Musical Voice.......2005-01-25

I have been a fan of Kate's music for many years, so I was very pleased when she released a full album of music. This cd contains many of her older songs known from open mic sessions as well has several new songs that I had not heard before. The Coldest Room has certainly surpassed Medusa's Hands as my favorite song that Kate sings; additionally, it has become one of my top 5 favorite songs of all time.
Kate's music style and voice are hard to pin down. She has many interests and many influences, but I would recommend her to anyone who likes Tori Amos or Sarah McLachlan.
