Lost in the sounds.......2003-10-02

I have just been introduced to Karl Mullen's music, following a recent purchase of one of his paintings. I fell deeply in love with his painting and find myself slipping into a hazy state of comfort and enjoyment while listening to this album. This is not the Irish music most of us think of when a songwriter/singer is identified as Irish ... this is excellent rock/pop/mood music. I look forward to a long interest in Karl's work ... both musically and as a painter.

This album represents the the strong combination of songwriting and superb musicianship. Karl is one of the best songwriters and performers working anywhere in the world. If there was any poetic justice in the world he would be opening for U2 across the world so people can see what this man has been doing for the past 3 decades. The band is impeccable and the live performances should be seen by anyone who say they love music.

Hat's off to the "dude" for the production qualities.

This is by far the best album I purchased all year. It is a wonderful mixture of strong lyrics and powerful sounds.

This is a great CD. The songwriting is amazing. Karl's voice and Jennifer Goree's blend uniquely and perfectly. Mercy Me with Curses is a haunting and beautiful song.

Mullen's Music is aMazing.......2001-01-04

Mercy Me With Curses is an amazing effort put forth by Karl Mullen and his band. My favorite song on the CD, "Cracked Mirror Curse," is not only a great song, but fantastic to see performed live. Jennifer Goree's vocals are a great asset to the CD and mesh well with Mullen's vocals. Megan Williams on violin and Don Roelich's saxaphones and clarinets create a thick layer of sound achievement. Bravo!
