Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars One of the Best Live Recordings Ever.......2000-04-07

Live recordings are very tricky things, one might be technically great but the artist might not have been spot on that particular night. Others feature the artist at their best but are poorly miked, mixed etc. This recording features the best of both worlds...John Martyn at his growling, snarling, sweet talking best and a great recording quality to boot. 'Smiling Stranger', with its guitar effects recorded so perfectly it's almost as though you were there, is just one example of the quality of the recording. Captured at three different English venues from the autumn of 1982 through the spring of 1983, the end result is a seamless, well-edited delight. If you're not familiar with John Martyn, you're missing out.

5 out of 5 stars One of best live John martyn cd s.......1999-03-18

As a John Martyn freak of many years, i can easy say this is one of the best if not the best live cd from Mr martyn. With people like Dave Gilmore guesting, etc, etc.
