About the Artist
"FolkRockoustic" is how the Tangerine Trousers describe their hybrid sound. Formed in 1993 around Detroit's husband and wife songwriting team C.J. and John Milroy, the Trousers' draw their strong melodic influences from artists such as Fleetwood Mac, the Beatles, Natalie Merchant, and the Cowboy Junkies.

Masterful storytelling and multi-part harmonies are woven into folk/pop rhythms on their new 14-song CD, "Far Above Rubies." Accordions, Dobro, flute, and lap steel have all found a home in this self-produced package of 11 original songs, as well as covers from diverse artists' such as The Cure, Sinead Lohan, and Whiskeytown's Ryan Adams.

CJ Milroy's captivating vocal style is the centerpiece of this musical feast, helping to garner 9 Detroit Music Award nominations and frequent appearances nationally on MSNBC's "Mitch Albom Show."
