Presented in chronological order, titles representing the immigrant diversity include American standards by famous American composers such as Irving Berlin, who also passed through Ellis Island's gates. Symbolic of the styles of the day, this compilation includes all genres of American music including ragtime, barbershop quartet and jazz and features vintage recordings of some of the most outstanding American artists of all time, such as historical big band leader Tommy Dorsey and the legendary "Velvet Fog," Mel Torme.
