I'm not rating the cd. I'm commenting on the rating of November 15,2000. I don't know how one could watch the movie and not have an idea of what the sound track would be. It's about Italian families, therefore Italian music. The November 15, 2002 rating helped me see the stupid people out there. P.S. did anyone tell the rater there is "a rat" in sepARATe. Must be a phonetic speller and much younger than I. I will buy this cd.

Excellent music and movie.......2002-02-18

The film has a nice flow and plot. The music is great. It is all geared toward the Italian familia. I love Cher, Nicholas Cage, and Olivia Dukacas in it. They gave great performances. I already loved La Boheme prior to seeing the movie and bought the CD of the movie soundtrack. Anyone wanting to see an enjoyable movie and listen to great music should put this high on your list. It is entertaining and holds your interest, unlike a lot of other movies. It used to be a 4-star movie and is now rated a 3-star movie - but a high 3-star. It is a classic that will be viewed over and over. The music of Puccini will live forever. Once you see the movie, the music flows from scene to scene in your mind.

Off-key, grating, and unoriginal, this is a horrible example of the genre. Apparently some people think that all you have to do is have good intent and their music will be worth listening to, but this is definitely not. Everyone I know refers to this band as "Moonsuck" because of their uninspired caterwauling.

AFter reading other reviews here, I couldn't wait to get this CD. Now I can't wait to see if my used CD store will give me anything in trade. The vocals are horrendous- particulary the male vocal is rarely on key. Musical quality is not just "unpolished" it is awful. The lyrics are heartfelt, but would be better served being sung by someone who can carry a tune. Instead it is a painful droning attempts at song. Download mp3s first, before you spend $. See if the tone grates on your nerves. I sure wish I had. Check out CDs like "ancient mother" instead.

Haunting stuff!.......2003-09-09

I loved this CD!!! Definitely worth listening to on a cold windy winters evening. However, I do think Witch Of The Wildwood was probably a better CD. If you own it already, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this one too. You won't be sorry.

Awesome Group!.......2002-03-03

To listen to this album is to step inside the circle with your pagan brothers and sisters! Moonstruck is not a group of pagans writing whatever music they can sell; the words to these songs are entirely pagan in theme. Very rock oriented, it is great inspirational music... a way to attune yourself while commuting, cleaning house, whatever, whenever you don't have the time to set up full ritual space yourself, you can just pop this in and immediately step between the worlds. Awesome, uplifting lyrics, decent recording and performance. Keep it up, Moonstruck!

Moonstruck CD.......2005-08-16

I enjoyed this CD very much. There are many different styles of music contained in this CD. For a group that hasn't been around all that long, it shows the growth that they are trying to achieve through the music and trying to find a style that suits them. There are a few songs on the CD that are enchanting and deserve praise. Some of the songs are a bit "off", but all in all, the music is well done, the words are well done. Some of the songs that the mains singers sing together don't blend all that well with their voices, but I still think it is an enjoyable CD and would enjoy more music from this group. The quality of the CD is average, but in my opinion, the sound is fine and doesn't really get in the way of enjoying the music.

I picked this up from the "Bargain Bin" at a south shore mystical shop while on vacation. The fact that is was in the bargain bin should have been my first clue. It was a promo CD that had been sent to the store and was re-sold "as is" with the packaging removed. I guess the store didn't want to keep it for their in-store music rotation. I purchased it dirt cheap and stuck it in my car stereo and was horrified by the cackling, sloppy vocals and subpar instrumentation. I do not recommend this CD for purchase.

Truly awful........2003-10-13

I've heard them on the CD someone was playing and in person at festivals, and in four years, they haven't improved at all or written new songs. Instead, what we're left with is the "We're SO persecuted!" brand of paganism filled with inaccuracies and borrowings from Christianity. In addition, almost all the songs sound alike other than songs taken in whole or in part from others.

I'm sick to death of the mentality so many pagan musicians have that just because they have pagan (or vaguely pagan) lyrics that it's okay for the music/lyrics to suck. Really, I'd be happy if I never heard this band play again and they instead went out and actually studied paganism and music a little before attempting to perform.

This CD is the bomb!! It has been almost constantly in my player since I bought it. Anyone who is serious about pagan music will love this CD. It changed me!

Another must have!.......2002-03-03

You know, I didn't research anything or hear any samples from Moonstruck before I purchased their 2 albums simultaneously. I love them both! I don't know which was released first, but it doesn't matter, they both possess great pagan lyrics in every song. They're underlying rock style is not so overbearing that you cannot hear or understand the lyrics, which is wonderful! These were the most rewarding compulsive purchases that I have ever made! Witch of the Wildwoods and the Moonstruck album could have been put on one long album without any duplication, and with uninterrupted style. I just hope they come out with more albums soon!

Originally from South Africa, Neville started playing the guitar from the age of 18. He specialized in rock/blues & jazz and soon started playing with various bands on the circuit, joining them on their gigs around Cape Town.
