About the Artist
Along the way…

In 1970, just east of the Dinosaur Valley, in Stephenville, Texas, Tom Langford reared his little head into this big world. Before he was even a year old, his family made the first of a half a dozen moves, but it was out of the dust of Texas that his life would become a search for a language to describe unfamiliar landscapes. In the tradition of the troubadour, from the streets of Marrakech to the islands of Greece, journeys have been both the stage and inspiration for singer/songwriter Tom Langford.

Tom's music is rooted in the sounds of the singer/songwriters of the sixties and seventies. One of the driving forces behind his own songwriting stems from a desire to feel the magic of matching just the right melody with just the right words. Tom's songs are snapshots. The mosaic of vivid imagery, subtlety and passion, shines against a backdrop of haunting melodies and harmonies.

After several spots on Brian May's nationally syndicated radio program, Malibu Folk Radio, Tom teamed with Bill Bottrell and Mark Cross to produce "Cadmium Angels" where he expanded his musical palette beyond traditional folk concepts. Then later, he collaborated with producer David Dvorin on beautiful tracks like "Pretty Little Sunrise" and "Take This Child Home" to further develop unusual soundscapes. This has been an exciting new incarnation of his music where computer and sampler play as important a role as voice and guitar. In the meantime, check out Tomlangford.com for weekly postings of new loops, songs, photographs and other news.

After all the years when the journey was home, Tom now is home at last with his wife Kathleen and his new baby boy Champe Carter.

Product Description
Mercy to be Found is the debut release from singer/songwriter Tom Langford. His music, while clearly rooted in the tradition of the troubadour, embraces the new modes of computer based sound beds and electronica. If you like the pure songwriting of Nick Drake or Leonard Cohen you'll love the new variations that Tom has created with these compositions. The music is dreamy, haunting and ultimately transformational. A must have for anyone who loves the acoustic guitar driven songwriting of the sixties and seventies.

Mercy To Be Found,Tom Langford,Bella Vista,This is Tom Langford's first album. These songs sit somewhere between the fragile songs of Nick Drake and literary influence of Leonard Cohen.
