About the Artist
As a key member of Fairport Convention from 70-79, Dave Swarbrick was instrumental in transforming the group from a Byrds' style folk-rock band into a much more focused unit. Consequently, Swarbrick's contribution greatly up-dated Britain's rich musical heritage of jigs and reels. Swarbrick also maintained a successful solo career alongside his commitment to Fairport Convention creating music with the likes of Martin Carthy, Simon Nicol, Alisdair Hulett and Pete Hawkes.
