Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars 'Bodies of Water ' Shimmers in the Sun.......2001-02-16

Grant King is a songwriter's songwriter. He is admired for his poetry, his integrity and his craft. His voice is warm and deep. In perfect contrast, his distinctive guitar style is jangly, ringing and bright. Together they express an very intelligent, very creative energy. My favorites on this album are 'Bodies of Water' for the litany, and the ballads. They sound like they are whispered in your ear, intimate and strong. Simple, eloquent, real, vulnerable. Really good singing and writing are so rare; Spend some time with this CD. It's extraordinarily beautiful.

5 out of 5 stars This CD is like an old friend........2000-11-11

This is one of those CDs whose excellence is hard to define. Yes, the vocals and arrangements are wonderful, but it is the intimacy that seeps into your heart. Though I've written many reviews, this CD just overtakes my abilities to discuss it objectively, as after the first or second listen, you feel like you're in this warm and comfortable place, like you're with an old friend, and it's hard to be objective with an old friend. I buy a lot of CDs, and to me this is one of this year's best.

Grant King has done it again... From the first subtle notes of "Do You Believe" (my favorite)to the joyous conclusion of the title cut, he's managed to capture the essence of who he is, a feat most artists never quite master. If you love Grant's music, like I do, then this album is a perfect follow up to "LET LOVE OUT". If you're not familiar with the magic that is Grant King, this CD is a perfect introduction to a wonderful body of work.
