One of the finest rock albums ever..........2006-06-16

Hoi Polloi's Happy Ever After truly pushed the envelope for Christian Altenative bands of their time. In the span of two years this band evolved from a mostly pop group to a formidable grunge band. Tracks like Tip Toe and Boat showed a band full of intensity, blaring guitars and tight vocals while Big Fat Happy Day was more upbeat, a track on which Jenny Gullen's vocals come across as a harder edged Gwen Stefani. Overall this is one of the best Christian grunge-alternative albums of all time

Hoi Polloi: Best Band You've Never Heard Of.......2004-04-11

Hoi Polloi is AWESOME!!! I came across the cd entirely by chance, and it was like.... Destiny. They're one of my favorite artists. WELL worth your money!!!! If you think that just because you've never heard of them, that they're bad, think again. This cd should get like a 7/5, it's awesome!!!!
1. Tiptoe: 10/10. One of the best songs.
2. Thaw: 8/10. Good song, but it gets annoying sometimes.
3. Smile: 8/10. About the same deal as thaw.
4. So Far Away: 9/10. One of my favorites on the cd.

5. Pity Baby: 7/10. Gets really annoying sometimes! The words "Pity Baby" are repeated over and over.... But still a good song.
6. Lucy: 7/10. This is a single, but I don't know why. It's only an "Okay" song. But it's still really good....
7. Big Fat Happy Day: 9/10. Really good song. Perfect for feeling happy :D
8. Sun Moon & Stars: 10/10. Another one of my favorite songs. It's so.... Mystical, for lack of a better word.
9. Falling Down: 10/10. Yet another of my favorite songs.... It's really good.
10. Boat: 10/10 Good
11. Love Has Come: 10/10. I like it.

Great Rock Album.......2003-09-30

This is a great rock album Christian or otherwise. The songs are pretty hard and mostly melow. Very down-tempo and hard at the same time. Think of a mid-90's rock version of Cold with a female lead. Great lyrics too. "Tip Toe" is one of my favorite fast rock songs of all time. Give it a try and you won't be dissapointed.

Bar Sing Along A Go-Go.......2002-12-26

This is definitely by far one of the best cds to come out in a long time. The songs as always are written wonderfully. It is so nice to hear Jo Almeida back on guitar. I hope they stick it out & make more great music in the near future. I can't stop playing it. I only have one thing to say, everyone buy it you won't be disappointed.

Fun Fun Fun!!!.......2001-06-20

The art of creating something well done as this album have so many things in it that sometimes is beyond the hands of the artist.in this story the legendary dogs damour re-unite with share replacing steave james on the bass. i can not tell that this is the reason why this recored have such a happy feeling but you can feel her in the backing vocals putting a women touch to it.tyla is sound like a wolf that is looking for the victum and swallow every story with " just get by" and a can already tell a classic rock tune " quick joey small " the best i heard in the last few years,unother future classic is "singin'" you will find it soon on every bar in england. jo dog is back to the guitar position and playing it as good as he always did. the strangth of this album is the atmosphire the dogs paint with colorfull colors they soun like they are having fun and they deliver it to the listener. a well deserve re union. buy it while you can!

Ladies and gentleman they are back! with the most fun album they ever did.it start with the diffrence with the bass player share who replaced steve james. the touch of her playing bass affect the sound of the dogs which re -form with legendary jo dog who left the band before the last album. we can find a very happy and fun dogs the sound is very warm with backing vocals who make you sing a long after one chours (-something the dogs always were good at) it is strait rock n' roll but again the sound is still uniqe and tyla vocals sound better then ever the dogs are stealing our hearts by storm with "get by" and a sure classic rock n roller of all times " quick joey small" this one is the most sharpe and well build by the dogs for my opinion and the all time bar-sing a long "singin" which sure be one of your favorite dogs song .as you can see it is a big celebration and not for dogs fan only you will fall in love with this one right from the start.i hope the dogs will realese more recordes because this one makes you scream for more!

A Cappella fans take note!.......2000-04-11

This female Irish quartet is a must for the collection of a cappella fans. Their tight harmony and excellent blend are applied to a variety of musical styles. They are perhaps at their best singing Irish tunes - both in English and Gaelic. The sone "Millwork", from the American musical "Working," features a superb arrangement.

Other songs represent folk and novelty genres. There's some political content to be found as well. Light percussion on the first cut.

Definately worth a try!

A Pop-rock Fairy Tale vs. Real Life!.......2006-08-31

"Happy After Ever" comes as a follow up release to The Vandalays' 2004 release, "(re)Begin". While I liked that one, I'd have to say I like this one even more, due to a fuller, broader production and it's "real life vs. fairy tale theme". The songs are incredibly hooky & unforgettable & lead singer/songwriter Chris Cerasoli really makes you believe! Stand out tunes are "Tracy" & "Ramona", but check out the end of "Fairy Tale" with the kids chorus, etc.!!

A worthy entry in the Dogs catalog.......2005-08-29

Have to say I had some reservations about buying this. Months before, this item had been unavailable, and desperate for a shot o' the Dogs, I ordered the fairly awful "When Bastards Go To Hell." But, I told myself, THIS one is 3/4 of the original Doggies. How can ya go wrong? And indeed, I made the right choice. While this is no "Dynamite Jet Saloon" or "King of the Thieves", it's definitely in the classic Dogs mold, perhaps a tad more commercial. It took me a couple of spins to get used to Share's backing vocals, but after a couple listens, they really complement ol' Tyla's sandpaper-soaked-in-Jack growl quite nicely. Standout tracks are "Get By" (coulda been huge); "Spooks", "Angelina," which has some fine licks from Jo; "Quick Joey Small"; and "Singin'", a classic pub singalong if ever there was one. If you're a fan of the REAL Dogs (not the rubbish that's being passed off now), this belongs in your collection. Some of Tyla's finest writing ever.

If you're not a fan - you should be.
