William Pint and Felicia Dale, of Seattle, are known for their innovative approach to music of the sea. Round The Corner, their third CD, moves toward Celtic rock, Dale's hurdy-gurdy droning maniacally, Pint cutting loose terrific vocals on "Sugar In The Hold" and "The Sailboat Malarky," Felicia singing in her mother's native French on "Marguerite" and the duo waxing reflective on the C. Fox Smith poems "Tryphina's Extra Hand" and "Blue Peter." Bob Zentz' setting of Kipling's poem about seal-killings - from the seals' point of view - records humanity's tragic idiocy in the face of nature's glory; written at the end of the last century, it hits with unmistakeable force.

Fabulous for any Broadway-lover.......2007-01-30

Packs into 5 CD's a sampling of Broadway tunes from the 20's thru (almost) today, mostly from original cast recordings. Includes not just well-known hits, but also some lesser-known gems. Sound quality is first rate, booklet is informative too. Have given this as a gift to several friends with rave reviews.

Top Shelf.......2007-01-04

This is THE definitive collection of Broadway hits. I have other collections, and none of them measure up. A great deal of care was obviously taken in compiling and presenting this box set. It covers a lot of ground, starting with some long-forgotten but still very enjoyable hits from the days of yore, and finishing with present-day favorites. To the best of my knowledge, the recordings are by those who made them famous. You won't be disappointed.

If you are a fan of the Broadway Musicals, this is a collection that you should purchase. Since I got the 5 disc set I've enjoyed listening to it. The majority of the songs are done by the original singers. The collection is priceless considering that you will have over 100 songs from popular musicals since the beginning of Broadway

Octavio Pinto.......2007-07-17

I played Octavio Pinto's Scenas Infantis for two pianos in college and it was a fun piece to play. I never heard it performed, so, when I saw this recording I jumped at the chance to buy it. It is a good recording and you won't be disappointed. There was some, what I would call tape hiss, in #22 or some other engineering problem, don't know what it was? The recording inspired me to get the music for Rodrigo's Cinco Peizas Infantiles. Peggy and Patrice played well together.

Guitarist and singer Debbie Davies often edges into rock or country on her fourth album, but there's plenty here for the blues fan to like. From the rock-out shuffle of "A.C. Strut" to the brash cover of Otis Rush's "Homework" to the ironic humor of "Such a Fine Man," Davies firmly establishes herself in the ranks of up and coming blues guitarists. While the countryish flavor of the title track and "Time to Work Your Magic" may turn some listeners off, Davies hasn't forgotten her roots: "Blue and Lonesome," a ballad, is as bittersweet and moody as any blues fan could wish for. Formerly a member of Albert Collins's touring band, Davies seems to still be searching for her voice. When she finds it, she'll bring the house down.--Genevieve Williams

BEST POP ALBUM OF ALL TIME!!!.......2003-03-11

This CD is AMAZING! There are about 8 outstanding songs here. TIME WORK YOUR MAGIC is a great pop tune, written by Debbie's Drummer. The sexy SCRATCHES also comes from the drummer, and it is excellent. BLUE AND LOMESONE is Deb's best vocal, with great blues feeling and guitar playing. BACKSEAT DRIVER is a great rock n' roll number, with interesting lyrics. FINE LOOKING MAN? is another outstanding rocking tune. ROOM WITH A VIEW is excellent, with a nice jazz/blues format, with excellent singing by Deb. There are some other good tunes in this package. There is no doubt in my mind that Debbie Davies is THE BEST POP ARTIST EVER!!: GREAT SINGING, SONGWRITER, VERY GOOD LEAD GUITARIST, EXCELLENT RYTHM GUITARIST, AND, ALL HER RECORDS HAVE GREAT SOUND AND GOOD PRODUCTION.

Not as good as Making Waves, unfortunately hard to find today. But definitely well worth buying. The Tryphina's Extra Hand is about loyalty beyond the grave.

I love to throw this CD in while I'm driving and let it take me away to the sea. It's one of those you can listen to over and over. If you love the thought of the ocean spray in your face as you let the wind push you over the swells, then this is a CD for you.
